I figured with TV sizes increasing over the years either doors would get bigger or roll-up TV would be invented. I'm a fool I shouldn't have invested in door companies!

first time I've heard about OLED being bendable and such some 10 years ago I immediately imagines rollable phones in size of a pen, with some basic buttons on it and a tiny e-ink display for stuff that doesn't require the full screen, and a touchscreen you can unroll and pull out from being hidden. This thing makes me remember those fantasy designs lol

The RoLED isn't ready for primetime. The opening needs to slide forward. It has to be wall mountable. Also needs a larger size than 65''. If all that is corrected I would love to have that in my home.

Linus you should really make a video about TV's and which one is the most "color correct", which one is most close to real life in terms of colors and brightness, black level etc. Because I see all your presentations and I get real confused. Which one is better? Which one sounds more real? Which one has the most correct colors?
Please like this video and up it, it might get seen by Linus or his crew and offer them an idea. Thanks!

Finally 8K TVs will be coming out about 3 or 4 years after they were announced at a previous CES! Now, just as they were getting 4K shows out on at least satellite TV... they're gonna have to upgrade their systems all over again! And now we want 8K cameras! And when will 8K or even 4K come to broadcast?

So the title is "how does the rollable tv work?". Did you got it? You didn't explain anything about how the TV works. Good job. The more the popularity the less quality is the content. That seems to be the universal constant in this ridiculous society driven by money.

  • WillN2Go1
    WillN2Go1 5 months ago

Thanks Linus. Your enthusiasm is infections, wonderful new tech....but I won't buy a new OLED 4K or even replace my old HD flatscreen until they stop spying on me. (I've already returned a Vizeo because I could not leave the 'we want to spy on you' option.) It's the principle. I don't really care that they know what I'm watching, I'm not doing anything illegal, embarrassing. So far big data is stupid and evil and not much else. (It also gave us Donald Trump) I submitted over 9000 ratings to Netflix, and we saw what they thought about that.
Now TV watching is spending inordinate amounts of time wading through the stuff I've already watched or rejected (dozens of times because they keep changing the picture) to maybe find something I'm interested in seeing... or just giving up and switching to Amazon, or turning it off. If Netflix was a restaurant, customers would have to find their dinner outback in the dumpster with all the old food, rejected food....
