Well. The MCU was great. It was a hell of a run. Now it's about to end as political correctness has invaded it. And we can't do shit about it. This is probably going to be a repeat of the last Jedi if this bullshit happens.

2015 - Most powerful character we ever introduced (Feige)
2016 - Most powerful superhero by far (Feige)
2017 - Most powerful superhero (Feige)
2018 - Most powerful superhero (Russo brothers)
2018 - A power scale that doesn't exists (Avengers Screenwriter)
2018 - Character with the most power in the room with all heroes (Russo brother)
the most hyped up character in MCU by far when it comes to power.
the fact that Fury just called her when all hope is lost speaks volumes of her strength.
I don't know why she will be that OP.

My goodness. The ugly underbelly of the Marvel fanbase is personified so perfectly in this comment section with all of you complaining about feminism and SJWs when:
    A. The movie hasn't come out. I'll never understand people who criticize, complain and whine about this kind of stuff with a movie that they haven't even seen. Wait to make you're judgments until after you've seen the film, like seriously. C'mon.
    B. At this point, if you don't have faith in Kevin Feige after what they pulled off with Infinity War... Welp, you're lost.
    C. Everybody's only focusing on Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, but tbh I'm most excited to see Jude Law as Mar-Vel and Ben Mendelsohn in whichever role he plays. Both great actors who will definitely add something to the movie and the MCU as a whole.

Call me stupid But i have meanwhile a feeling that tells me that Larson will be not so great like the others Avengers Actors on their performance.

Johnathon Haney Yeah sure. I could be wrong with my imagination about Larson. We will see. But they did it also wrong once with Iron-Man 3.

    • Johnathon Haney
      Johnathon Haney 4 months ago

VICTOR Okay, I get it now. You're saying Larson lacks the "It" factor you think she needs to make this work. Once again, I'm wondering if this is a deliberate choice to zig where most female superheroes zag, less Angelina Jolie and more Charlize Theron if you get me. Feige and Co are known for taking these kind of risks so it's not out of the question.

    • VICTOR
      VICTOR 4 months ago

Johnathon Haney Larson is wrong, because she has as an actress the power that Gadot don't have. But she has not the casima, that many great Actors and Actresses have.
She han an effect with her acting powers. But the carisma she hasn't.
Gadot is a very nice personality and very good in hearth as privat person. But she has not really the facial expressions big effects that actor like chris pine does bring as effect.
Larson has the big co concentration as actress. She is focuse on her roles and she do it great with many power. But finally she has not the facial expressions and with that the carisma, that some others big actors have.
But she is deffenitely better than Gadot.
Therefore i thing she will be good as Captaib Marvel.. but that what we expect from a great, better choice to play Captain Marvel.
I want not a porn figure, i want a special acting show. And that's what Larson i think can't show us for especially this big charachter.

    • Johnathon Haney
      Johnathon Haney 4 months ago

VICTOR We're going to have to agree to disagree on both points. The feeling I'm getting on this version of Captain Marvel is a superheroine who ISN'T a porn fantasy. That's something we've not really seen on the big screen before (though arguably the sour, foul-mouthed Jessica Jones is just a pioneer for the small) and that plays in with Larson's looks, which are good but not stunning, you know? I know that sounds funny for a character based on Farrah Fawcett's looks initially but that's the vibe I'm getting. BTW, you still haven't exactly said why Larson is wrong for this.

Because if she is the most powerful it will ruin Infinity War or beats Thanos by herself. All of Thor's character development goes down the drain. 10 years of hype will end with a new character being the key to Thanos being defeated.

      Johnathon Haney true.
There is a scene where CM stops the Hulk with one hand easily (not 100% but most likely).
It's ok for individual fight but not like what Superman did.

    • Johnathon Haney
      Johnathon Haney 3 months ago

Tomislav Poje Indeed...one need only look at how Snyder bungled the character of Superman on that count to see how badly it could go. Still, I've a feeling they'll manage it.
One thing that keeps getting lost in this imbroglio how much of Mar-Vell's story from the comics will come into play. In particular, I think about his eventual death by cancer (which may be why he's mentoring Carol if that's true here) and his cosmic awareness. The latter helped make him enough of a serious opponent to take on Thanos and may be part of what makes this version of Carol so powerful.

  • Adam Azri
    Adam Azri 4 months ago

Carol Danvers was awesome during her time as Ms. Marvel. But, ever since she got promoted to a Captain, she became a huge control queen and selfish bitch. I'm intrigued and can't wait to see how they handle this character since she's not one of the most likeable heroes in the comics. If MARVEL can pull off Guardians, Ant- Man, Jessica Jones perfectly, pretty sure they'll have no problem for Captain Marvel.

  • Naomi

Ugh, can you guys just shut up about all this forced feminism? Have more faith in Kevin Fiege. Or is it that any work centered on a strong female character is automatically feminism throw up? Why not wait until the film comes out until you say any crap about the character? The MCU isn't a direct translation of the comics.

Captain Marvel was given her power. She did not earn it like Green Lantern or Thor. She's just an American Supergirl. Started out as a normal and then went somewhere else. Thor may have been born with power but he proved himself worthy in combat. That's why he was named the Protector of Asgard and why he was given Mjolnir. Likewise, Hal Jordan earned his place as a Lantern by being able to overcome his fear.

    • Spirit Of Vengeance

      Johnathon Haney Month ago

The Batman You have an odd definition of "earned". Thor was born into his power and only thousands of years later could conceivably have said to have been worthy of it. By contrast, this Captain is starting off life as a normal human before making a leap into power beyond even that. We've not gotten any details yet on the how and why or drawbacks of such, so we should refrain from worthiness arguments.

The 90's was not really a good era. We just believe that, because on that time not so much people have exist like today. Sure, it had its good sites. But if you look closely, we do recognize that it was also a really hard time. There was so many hard homeboy times with very criminals and with more drogs and so.
Today we have more chaos because more people around the world exist, but finally it has also his own peace in relation to the 90's.
The 90's had his peace because there was more room between the quantity of human beings. And yeah, there had exist some cool stuff, like some music styles.
But i remember i my 90's, it was for me a hard time. Cool, very a cool time, but also a very hard time at the same.
Today is the hard time, because it has so much chaos of too many existing people. It is nearly too much for the world. But in another view, we have more possibilites today, more we receive for our money and its quality.
I think all times have their good and bad sides. ALL Timeages!

Darryl Jones Jr. World Breaker is Hulk's strongest version, which is not his usual level of strength. He had to be at his angriest and the additional radiation from that explosion from Planet Sakaar that gave rise to that version of the Hulk. But Thor's strongest trumps that version of the Hulk. Rune Thor possess a power greater than the Odin Power itself, plus additional power of the Runes. He was so powerful then that he simply dismissed Mangog by blocking the monster's punch with his fingers and dissipated the ogre. If you read the recent appearance of Mangog, the monster threatened the combined might of Asgard.

Johnathon Haney what the heck is wrong with this comment section? I get a notification that you replied something, but then I cannot see it? That's weird. Anyway, i read the first sentence....i am not regurgitating anything. Respecting a source material is a legitimate concern when it comes to adapting something to film. How would you like it if James Bond suddenly becomes Jamaican and gay in film? That's different. That's change. But it's not really appropriate.
Besides, I'm not the one regurgitating old stuff. Your original comment? About me commenting without having seen the movie yet...that's old. I have seen that stupid comment hundreds of times. It's stupid and wrong. Because anyone can have an opinion without actually seeing the film. Seeing Brie Larson looking chunky in a stupid looking costume for example is an opinion not based on me having seen the film. Perfectly appropriate. And me taking offense over Kevin Feige's statement that Captain Marvel is the most powerful hero in the MCU is likewise perfectly valid. I do not have to see the movie to not like their idea of making a relatively new character suddenly trumping their well established ones.
Again, just because you are so dense and cannot comprehend simple ideas, i am not arguing whether they can make Captain Marvel the most powerful character in the MCU, it's whether they SHOULD. Get a clue before acting nasty in the comment section. You come off as a stupid teenager who just sees a stupid one liner, thinking it is witty, and just repeats it at random on the youtube comment section.

Captain Mar-vel is awesome, carol danvers is not good, in fact she is so bad that when i think of a bad annkying character she is what i accosiate it with. Logan Gerrie Oh, you must be referring to the genuinely cringeworthy story with her and Immortus that made me want to nearly puke when I got specifics.
No? You're talking about more recent stories that only form a very small if prominent portion of her appearances? Well, the ones I knew Carol best from came from Kurt Busiek, the man who singlehandedly saved her from the scrap pile. He portrayed her as a human being above all else, no surprise as he's a genuinely talented writer with SJW leanings that your kind hate. So I can say that you are legit ignorant.

    • Johnathon Haney
Johnathon Haney 4 months ago +3

Logan Gerrie Your own words betray you. Considering that Carol Danvers was created at a moment in our history where women were just beginning to be seen as capable (so long as it was understood that men MUST remain in charge per chauvinists like yourself), why would I have expected her to be portrayed with the power levels Feige has in mind in the original stories? Even then, I recall her getting some seriously phenomenal cosmic power courtesy of a white hole at one point, which may be in play here. Only the most insecure of men complain like you do.

    • Coronova

      @CRUZ
Wasn't Carol already a force to be reckon with in the comics? I mean, it's not like she was as strong as Spider-Man in the comics, then Kevin and the MCU staff decided to boost her strength to ridiculous proportions in the movies. With her absorption abilities, she can potentially become stronger than Thor and Hulk. But, with popularity bias in the comic circles, people wouldn't dare accept that. Anyway, I can see it now:
1.) A handful of anti-SJWs will continue to cry out about her before her movie hits the theaters. Because, they haven't realized by now that Marvel Studios tends to hit it out of the park with most character depictions.
2.) Said movie gets released and Carol's popularity will skyrocket in the general public, which is what happens with lesser known characters from the comics.
3.) She won't be represented in a SJW way in the film, then the anti-Carol crowd will either eat their words, act like they were always fans of her, or continue to nitpick about very minor "SJW moments" in the film to derail its inevitable success.

    • Zac Steinberg
      Zac Steinberg 3 days ago

“Most powerful superhero we’ve introduced” I’m taking that to mean that she is more powerful than any of the other HEROES (so she isn’t just going to batter thanos) when they were originally introduced. So more powerful than, for example, Thor during Thor 1 or Doctor Strange in his solo movie, but not necessarily more powerful than they are now. My reasoning for this is that Thor was Thanos’s equal at the end of Avengers 3 (and Doctor Strange put up a good fight, as did iron man and scarlet witch). If we got an even more powerful hero joining them then Avengers 4 would not feel like a worthy sequel to infinity war. She is probably similar in power to Thor when he doesn’t have stormbreaker, and similar to him when he does while she uses her binary ability

In other words, let’s make a movie in the midst of the #MeToo movement, and create a character that can come in and save the men from the strongest most evil “male” they’ve encountered. This female character is stronger than Thor, another female the Scarlett Witch, and Dr. Strange combined! It screams Social Equality to the 10th power, but aside from that, I’m sure it’ll be a good movie.

I don’t care if Captain Marvel can stuff 12 dicks in her mouth at the same time, your over emotional ass totally missed the point. If you have to respond with insults, then take your childish ass to another thread.
