  • For the last few years, the riders representing Team USA at the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations have participated in a press conference at the season-finale Ironman National. Yesterday, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Jason Anderson and Zach Osborne joined Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha’s Justin Cooper to talk about the upcoming event-which will take place on September 28 and 29 in Assen, Netherlands. Hear what the riders had to say about the event.
Yesterday during press day, we also got our first glimpse of Team USA, as the riders showed off their gear, number, and plastics for the MXoN. Jason Anderson is #13, Justin Cooper is #14, and Zach Osborne is #15.

The heads of the AMA, FIM, The Feld Group and TV and Stadium owners all live in giant mansions, but they can't pop $500 bucks for tarps to protect the track? Hell, the FIM payed more than that on "Bubba's" drug test.

solid team , possible podium or maybe even a win with some luck ... lot of MXGP top riders injured at moment
El Hombre and Zacho real solid and top riders with experience , but Cooper is weak link in this in my opinion and hope for them he doesn t drown in deep sand like Plessinger did last year at redbud after being way to confident

Once upon a time we sent a team of riders that weren't expected to win and some of our top riders elected not to go. That was 1981 and started the streak. On that team was a relatively unknown Johnny O'Mara, Donnie Hansen, Danny LaPorte and a great guy I personally met, Chuck Sun. If we come up short it won't be a lack of effort with these guys. Good Luck.

Good luck Gentlemen. It is an honor for you, but it is also an honor for us to have such fine American individuals race for all of our glory. Remember, historically, Americans have a good habit of winning things when the deck is stacked against us. Lets piss off the FIM one more time with a win, and smile big doing it. :) It is an honor to send you 3 fantastic Americans. Thank you very much.

  • EarthSurferUSA

Remember in the 80's, when the USA government would not let us compete in the Olympics, and Mary Lou Retton was the best gymnast in the world?
Russia won in gymnastics, but the world knew it was a hollow victory because Miss Retton was not there. Not only is Kawasaki's decision to keep our best from racing for the USA, keeping Adam and Eli from adding to the accomplishments of their short careers and helping the USA lose the event, ---but it also cheapens the event. What ever we finish, the world will know, (if they can see), that team USA could have done better.

For the first time in USA MX history, we let a factory tell us our two fastest guys will not represent the glory of the USA at this glorious international event. Kawasaki single-handedly pretty much made sure team USA can not win, stating "scheduling problems". Husky on the other hand sees no such scheduling problems, and are sending Ozzy and Ando there for 4 weeks, to try to win this event. It is simple folks, it really is. Buy a Husky.

  • EarthSurferUSA
    EarthSurferUSA Month ago +1

To race for team USA in this glorious event is part of a racers accomplishments. When we talk about the championships a racer has earned, we also talk about that racer representing the USA at the MXofN, (especially if we win). Adam and Eli, who I understand wanted to go, will not be able to add that accomplishment in 2019 to their list of achievements, (and they earned that team pick), because for the first time, a factory, (Kawasaki), told USA citizens they are not allowed to accomplish all of their dreams and race for national glory for the USA.
If you people are not sharp enough to see how wrong Kawasaki is here,---you better start "thinking".

      EarthSurferUSA Month ago

@Douwe Egbert Hmm, you do make a good side point. Kawasaki is supporting their racers from Europe, but not from the USA. Yes, Tomac is from the USA, but Kawasaki USA probably did not make this decision. Kawasaki USA is a retail arm into the USA owned by Kawasaki Japan. I don't think Kawasaki USA had anything to do with this decision.

Starts are critical and of course not crashing. Justin is a great out of the gate and if he avoids crashing could surprise many. Zach and Jason need to pull some starts out of the hat as they are average out of the gate but great riders otherwise. We definitely may and I hope we do surprise this year to make up for last years mess!
