20th seeded Aradhya Garg wins National Junior 2019 ahead of 5 IMs

  • Aradhya Garg, with an Elo of 2165, started off as the 20th seed at the National Juniors 2019. After 5 rounds, the Delhi lad had a score of 3.0/5. He picked up pace and won all his next six rounds scoring a mind boggling 6.0/6! With a score of 9.0/11 he won the National Junior Championships ahead of five IMs. In the last four rounds he beat four strong players from West Bengal - Subhayan Kundu, Rajdeep Sarkar, Mitrabha Guha and Koustav Chatterjee.
    In this video Aradhya discusses with us his wins over Rajdeep and Koustav. He also tells us about the methods he used prior to the event to bring himself in good shape for the tournament. Aradhya is trained by Visweswaran Kameswaran, Farrukh Amonatov and Tejas Bakre.
