  • Not all friends are forever. Despite 20 years of history, that's why my best friend dumped me. This video is a reflection of a really difficult time in my life. On one hand, I understand where she was coming from, on the other, I don't. Friends are supposed to have each other's backs or at least not kick you while you're down and as my life was crumbling, she decided she no longer wanted to be a part of it.

So glad to see you back! Loved the video! This must have been very difficult for you to talk about. I admire your strength and resilience for getting through such a crazy time in your life. As well as your bravery for sharing this experience.

Hey L.C., thanks for the support and for watching! :) It feels great to be back. You couldn't be more right that this definitely wasn't an easy thing to talk about. I was very supportive to a friend of mine recently who was dealing with drug addiction, I wish my own best friend was able to be supportive too but it happens. I'm glad I was able to overcome the situation and get away from that toxic (and dangerous!) environment!

Ada, thanks for sharing this experience. After I watched your initial videos, I wondered what caused the friendship breakup. It hurts. Any chance that you will reach out to your former friend in the future?

@David Grant David, no way! That is crazy! A novel?? Wow, that's incredible. That is definitely an undertaking and I can't wait to see the final product. I like to write myself and I hope to be able to share a book of my own with you one day too :) Keep me posted.

@Ada Blane You are so right, Mom's have a special instinct. Also, I just wanted to share that after I watched your original friendship videos a couple of years ago, I started writing a novel about my own personal friendship experience. When my novel is complete, I'd like to share it with you. All the best.

Hi David, thanks so much for watching and for being so supportive! To be honest, maybe a few years ago I would have thought that I'd want to reconnect with this friend but I wouldn't want to anymore. There were a few ways in which we were really incompatible and there was something my mom said to me that made me look at the friendship differently. She had said: "I don't know why but there was always something off about the way she interacted with you. It seemed like she was always happy about your misfortunes." Isn't that wild! Moms can see right through a lot of people and sometimes it takes an outside perspective to make you see the things you can't with the people you're close to. I wish the situation turned out differently but there's a lot to learn from the situations that don't. Thanks for reaching out! :)
