Lol , this is getting ridiculous now , this self confessed skinny smackhead seems to think his capable of leading Great Britain , it’s a joke , ignore his rhetoric & just look at the guy , yes he can articulate but his a deadbeat politician , the authorities have done a drugs sweep in the house of whores toilets & they found the remains of every drug under the sun around there , there was 30 odd districts that was investigated for voter fraud amongst these Tory scumbags constituencies , everything is rigged , they couldn’t rig the referendum anymore then they did & the druggies still lost , they want a new “ ppls vote “ the same vote we’ve already voted for but this time they will make sure the fix will win for these crooks , Rory ( Florence of Arabia ) Stewart talks about fairytales whilst he actually is living one on the smack , his a hypocrite that’s responsible for putting ppl in prison for doing the exact same thing his doing , I can’t stand these lying pos , it’s time for a complete reformation of this old fashioned useless two “ party “ system that keeps everybody angry , angry that the “ party “ they voted for don’t implement the policies they’ve promised to keep as soon as they get into office , his saying the exact same rhetoric that old witch Treason May promised when she took over from the porkpie CaMoron , talking about equality but did the exact opposite , don’t trust this snake as he is totally full of it , this country is like a powder keg that’s just waiting for a match , listen to how many places his visited all at us tax cattle expense just like the rest of them , lol he doesn’t know where to look must of the time as liars don’t , we need direct democracy that cuts out these lying pos , we need to go forward as one not divided like these pencil necked politicians want

I'm voting Brexit party, simple, the only 2nd referendum this country needs is a referendum on the house of lords, someone start a petition or something,we need to clear out the old boys network who constantly sell us down the river

This guy is dangerous. He actually wants the UK to be sold out via an EU Treaty designed to limit and humiliate the UK. This is an astonishing position to take and means he has no chance of winning the leadership. In fact he should run for the leadership of the Lib-Dems.

  • Eel Marwen

It makes me laugh how one guy says 'I want a free trade deal but not be party to their rules'. If you trade with someone, the USA, the EU or whatever, you have to abide by their rules. That goes for any country. We will have to trade on their rules. I find it strange that anyone thinks if we leave the EU we can tell them what to do. The only way to do that, to change the rules in our favour is to be in the EU!

  • Eel Marwen

I don't care if his eyes are open or shut. I care that he appears to think about his answers, wants to make a decision when he has the correct information to make the right decision. I like that he's calm. I like that he doesn't make unrealistic promises. I like that he's transparent. Refreshing. I am not a Tory, but I don't like Labour, I don't like the two Lib Dem Candidates for the election. He's the only one I trust. I think he's genuine.

Rory Stewart is just too weak to make him PM no back bone to stand up for this country he is a yes man. If the Tories vote him in as leader they are finished. All the of the main 3 parties are imploding. Tories, Labour, lib dems have no idea they don't have any British lion spirit .The greens can't govern either. Parliament is useless even burcow has to go most of them are like headless chickens.

This guy speaks 11 languages, served in Iraq, negotiated with Iraqis whilst under constant mortar fire, and succeeded, he even delivered his wife’s baby by himself for god’s sake !😂 He’s gone round the country incessantly talking to people, whilst Boris can barely muster a tweet. I’m a brexiteer but give this guy a look in, the man’s a patriot and an overall impressive chap. As a 20 year old student I’m behind you all the way Rory.

Possibly the best of a really bad bunch. Sadly, even though he does speak some sense, he has little chance to progress. He is right; a no deal Brexit would be calamitous for the country, & hopefully parliament would never allow it. Also he appears to be the only contender who understands the terms of the extension, in that the EU are not going to renegotiate any part of the present deal.

Andy Robertson No, but it tells us that you don't understand the concept of changing one's opinion... Ken Clarke voted to Remain, but is open to Brexit if it is done in a sensible, democratic way. You're going to struggle in life if you're not able to compromise, or deal with opposing viewpoints, buddy.

    • Matthew Watkins
      Matthew Watkins 3 months ago

Dave Thompson no I don't think so. I think he's right Parliament won't go for no deal. He's said he'll leave all the systems of the EU and just wants a trade deal. I'm on the leave side too but I that's reasonable as long as he keeps to it. It's never been about trading and if the EU was just a trade organization then I wouldn't have had an issue with it. The problem is the EU wants to be its own superstate. It’s leaving the institutions that’s they important part of this.
Remember compromise is okay as long as your not selling yourself out like Mays deal did. We have to be careful of not being fundamentalists.

How can we get a deal that the British people voted if you are not willing to accept a no deal scenario? In other words what he is saying is" I want a deal - any deal!!!" because I am not willing to walk away. That is the most stupid position to be in when you are trying to leave the EU. Totally politically illiterate. The EU will eat him for breakfast. Leaving the single market, the customs union and removing control by the EU Courts is totally against all that the EU stands for. How can he do that and expect to get a deal if you are not willing to accept a NO DEAL!!!? He is living in cloud Cuckco land.

@School of Life BG I appreciate that and don't think it helps him. It's a shame he came out opposing a position in the cabinet if Boris wins. I think he is one of the most level headed and articulate MPs and speaks brilliantly publicly (although not on radio!). He won't win it or even really be in the race but I think he will be a good challenge to the policy etc of other candidates. If you haven't seen it I would recommend you watch his hedgehog speech and debate with JRM on human rights.
