REBUILT: 1956 VW Beetle

  • Josh Carr spotted a rundown VW Beetle sitting in weeds and transformed it into a rolling piece of art. See how he rebuilt the 1956 ragtop, oval-window bug from the ground up.

Gorgeous build!!! Do you have the name of the blue used? I have an Australian 1970 1300 I'm rebuilding that has the exact same colour scheme and two tone paint job from the original owner. The white is Aus dulux Antarctica white, but the name of the blue is a mystery

Well done Josh, an absolutely first class restoration. A very beautiful VW, I like the way you've made it yours. Yes, these car's are money pits but worth it. I've never owned a VW but i've had classic cars all my life. It's a pity that people learning to drive don't buy and fix their own vehicle's anymore. You learn so much and become attached to something you've repaired and re-built, it's in some ways an extension of yourself. Thankyou also for making this video to share your story with us. I wish you many many years of happiness together.

just curious, the quad gauge linked to in the description has water temp, is that able to be changed to oil temp, as Josh said in the video?

Hi Chip, yes we can change that for you. It's an additional $25 fee to convert that to oil temp. You can order the quad gauge and in the gauge notes tell us you'd like the water temp changed to oil temp, and we'll do that for you.
