My theory started with the eclipse ... the total eclipse only happened in one place in the world during that time. In Chile and Argentina, they were possibly kidnapped and are being held hostage in a kind of military experiment around the Valdivian Jungle region. The dog would be the flaw of this theory, right? Wrong ... The dog belongs to one of the people involved in the experiment. That's why the dog was in both places. Then we have the scene of the constellations, they have a 10 degree difference in their position, which further highlights the theory of they being held at South America. The bus guy has indigenous features, but at the same time he has southern american features. Everyone was sleeping during the trip, perhaps they were induced to do so. The graffiti was put there as a clue by someone involved, because in the replicated city there would not be the same. Maybe Cassandra was killed for ruining the experiment somehow. The bus came from a road somewhere, perhaps an underground passage. Maybe some houses will be used by this group of hijackers to study them. It would be interesting if they caught one of these observation centers. The cellular signal does not work because there are no lines that carry the signal out. Also because they are in another country. I also believe in his theory of parallel dimension, but I tried to form one with less fiction.

Dogs can see spirits and stuff like that right? So what if he can jump between the parallel universes and is trying to get the kids attention, or is even to trying to show them that the other universe is here!

The dog might be Pfeiffer, think about it. Or Pfeiffer is a member of the tribe that was mentioned?

Those teenagers are in an fully functional town with an hospital, medication and even electrical power. They have one hell of a head start compare to people that lived 200 years ago. They should be able to survived with ease if it wasn't for human nature to not be able to govern themselves. That being said, the thing that scares me the most is the taught they may be other humans living on this alternated earth... they have no border defense. They could be first nations tribes looming around... I get a sense we will see dangers coming from outside the community in S2.

I think its a social experiment about socialism and capitalism and other issues that plague society , like how could teens interact if everything started from zero? Would they learn from their parents mistakes? Would any political idea dominate? Thats it, somehow and for some reason they landed there to be tested in this

    Here's my theory.
I think Cassandra's death has something to do with the smell as well. In the opening scene, Harry and the girl smelled it again and suddenly, Cassandra showed up which could mean that it is because she is near to the two that's why the two smelled it in the first place. There is also one scene that Cassandra had sweat too much which looks very unnatural that she had to change her clothes. She always wear a jacket too, long sleeves and such. And by the time when therr was the ball, she was just wearing an off shoulder dress and maybe that's why the dog came upon her. We know how good dogs are in smelling things.
Yeah this theory is hilarious though lol, 😅😂

That woman was reading Peter Pan to the kids back home. And Peter Pan was supposed to be an angel bringing lost boys aka dead kids to heaven.
Idk wtf is going on ,but it seems to me that that weird driver dude is like Peter Pan. He took the kids in a different land. Their parents think they are dead. Who knows they might be and that's hell. But just like the dog. Whoever dies in that island is going back home.

the fairytale with the man who take the kids away turn turn real. This is why u should keep your words. The dog is the key because he can travel between them. A (theory ) someone chase the dog and return home.B the dog bring something from the kids to the parents.

I personally think there all in comas (cos the bus crashed) but when they “kill” eachother (Sandra for example) they wake up from there comas
I think the “smell” was a chemical
And the bus driver had some with him on the bus. It leaked and the smell poisoned them (bus driver loses control) they all go of a cliff

If Allie had a better handle on her gaurds a lot of this could have been avoided. Like Lexie yeah she’s a bit vendictive. But she didn’t do that performance on her own... others were involved . Two how the guards treated her was fucked up and when she went to Allie... she did nothing, what’s worst is that she didn’t even seem to care that her guards were Rappy... nor did she care that they beat the shit out of a boy on trial regardless of if he did it or not, they did not know that at the time at all. On top of that her guard busting into houses waving guns around... all this shit happens and Allie does nothing... and it’s the gaurds that end up turning on her. Lexie May have not like Allie but had Allie done something about her guard it would’ve gone down like that with Lexie

There has to be a magical element to new ham because how did the busses leave after they dropped them there, and where did they go? Did Pfeiffer make it back to West Ham if he was the one driving the bus? It would be a huge twist if they qere still somewhere in the town, but that seems highly unlikely.

What if the kids are in purgatory (the place between life and death)? And the only way the kids can return to the world of the living is to do better than the parents - be better than the parents. Maybe Pfeiffer sent them there as punishment, as purgatory is often used when it comes to punishment or penance. Idk, it's just a theory. Comment what you think!

Okay so I just finished this show, and I don't know why anyone isn't talking about the fact that, after Allie called the place they are in New Ham, there was a scene where one of the boys were painting everyone's name on this white billboard(citizens of New Ham or something like that); then in the last episode that remembrance plaque looks EXACTLY like the citizens of New Ham writing, the way the names were written and everything. That has to mean something

They're basically trying to prove this thing:
Everyone who dies goes back to the real world. So Cassandra and Dewie and the dog are already back. So in the end everyone will die and go back to the real world. This is how we humans are. We just kill each other.

In 1284 A.D. in the Germanic (a Germany unified in its present form didn't exist until 1871) city of HAMelin, a plague of rats descended (akin to The Society's "smell"). City elders offered 1,000 guilders to whomever could rid the city of the rats. Enter the Pfeiffer (German for "one who plays a pipe") dressed in multicolored or "pied" clothing. The piper agreed to the terms, but warned the city's elders not to betray him. He played his pipe and all the city's rats "danced" after him and into the river Weser and drowned. The piper returned to Hamelin's elders for his reward, but was met with accusations of witchcraft and that he was the one that had brought the rats to them in the first place. Being a spiiritualy merciful people the elders agreed the piper could have his life and 50 guilders if he left quickly. The piper flew into a rage and stormed from the city vowing revenge.
On Monday, June 26th 1284, while the adults were at church celebrating the feast of Saint John and Paul's Day, the piper returned. He played his pipe and all the city's children danced after him into a cave at Koppelberg Hill/Koppenberg Mountain. The cave "closed" and the children were never seen again. Only three children remained to tell the adults what had happened. The first child was lame and could not physically keep up with the other dancing children. The second child was blind and could not see in which direction to go, but he said it was if the music were all around him and he could not stop dancing. The third child was deaf and so he never heard the piper's music, but he had followed the children to see where they went.
It is interesting to note that The Dancing Plague was only ever recorded as observed in mainland Europe between the 13th and 17th centuries. No conclusive evidence has ever been given for the 130 missing children of Hamelin.

What if every time someone died in this “dystopia”, they would somehow appear to be dead in the real world as the smell? (The only reason I thought of this is because grizzy wanted to bury the body before it smelled) And the way the bus driver guy was paid to get rid of the smell, was to get rid of the kids thinking that would work.

I think I’ve figured it out while my mom was reading the Bible it said those who do bad shall be left with a bad smell but those who do good shall be left with a sweet smell so the parents didn’t do a good job so it’s left up to the kids to do better or receive the same smell I think the parents r in hell and the kids r in an alternant dimension

the parents got punished by god for their greed and so the children got sent away to live a life free from their parents. The parents continue their lives just like in the bible. In the bible all the firstborns of humans and animals die, but in the society all the children got sent away. The dog maybe is some kind of connection between the two realities. It just has to be because there are no other animals relevant or shown? Maybe god or the devil or something in animal form to watch over everything.

I think the bus driver set this whole thing up to teach the kids a thing or two about how to govern the people efficiently and not end up like their crappy parents who ruined everything
