I really wouldn’t read too much into his family life. This is a man who had an affair with the wife of his campaign manager. Imagine the level of that kind of betrayal not only your wife, but your close confident.

Tbh, if I was the kid I would go running back to my dad too and I’m literally 13 and I go hide behind my dad when he’s around cuz he’s the only family member who truly towers over me so I feel safer around those I can easily hide behind.

My mom was a teenage mom. I remember a video about mom's graduation when she's giving a valedictorian speech (?). I ran towards the stage and started crying (idk why I was crying probably because of people) I was 2/3 that time before she excuse herself, pick me up and gave me to my father.
-don't mind me just enjoying my memory with my mom. She passed away 3 months ago due to ovarian cancer.

@Maximus Asauluk I know some child psychologists say if they really need it for stressful situations and it actually soothes them you should allow them to have it just not for long periods of time and I agree like who are adults to take away a childs coping mechanism I mean he is on stage infront of a bunch of strangers. They also may turn to sucking on fingers if their not ready which is kinda worse considering germs and possible infection.

@SRSO it absolutely is. My fiancés son is almost 4 with a pacifier and is in diapers and he can’t talk properly due to the pacifier and it has really messed up his teeth

    • Sam
      Sam 4 months ago +1

@Joanne L Terrible analogy, because that’s not the point I was making. Using a pacifier doesn’t always mean a baby will need braces. Not using a pacifier won’t mean your baby will have perfect teeth. Which is fact. I never said pacifiers can’t cause teeth issues. Your attempted humorous comparison was idiotic.

  • Generalfeldmarschall Polycrase

It's the exact opposite in my house. My son goes to his dad when he wants to play because I'm boring and I don't have the upper body strength for his toss me around games and he comes to me when sleepy. Even his grandma admits she wouldn't try to put him to bed. I went to the movies, came back after 10pm and my 7 30 pm bedtime son had defeated the whole house. He wasn't in my arms for 10 minutes and he was out cold.

If dad wasn’t a politician I think mom would have been faster to retrieve him or, better yet, leave him with a babysitter who can put him to bed on time.
