Deadpool 2 Is An Underrated GEM

  • Deadpool 2 is considered to be a weak attempt to capture the first's greatness. I'm here to talk about why I think it does a great job at crafting a story that is as good as the first.

You have this habit of making me reconsider movies I already decided on. Deadpool 2 is better than I thought. TLJ has more flaws than I thought. I really appreciate your thoughts on these kinds of movies.

I was in the first camp of people who didn’t really like Deadpool 2 all that much when I saw it, but that might’ve been due to the fact I was coming off IW hype. I later got the Super Duper Cut and watched that and thought it was amazing, although I can’t tell if it was because of the Super Duper Cut or because the film just worked better on rewatch

Dude underated Gem!? It was dead pool 2 how can we make Him more gay. After a little while that gets annoying. He spent a good chunk of time in the last film being weird then the Entire freaking film. WORST MOVIE.

Tried to like this movie in an unbiased/objective standpoint for the whole screening but imo it went from mediocre-decent. I felt like many of the actors were underused for too-corny-to-believe empathetic backstories that barely delivered by the end of the film. I remember an undeniable amount of repeat jokes in this film from the first DP, also exaggerated reference jokes that reminded me of an unoriginal family guy episode, bad soundtrack that was usually corny when trying to help convey a "serious" story or action scene, awkward pacing at times because of the overdone "self-aware" jokes that most of the time contained contradictions in all context. When I went with my friend to see this my first time, we both had an open-mind but we almost cringed out loud throughout various scenes. It didn't help that a good amount of people at the theatre were leaving their seats by the 2nd & 3rd act. I never believed the family narrative had any confident writing because I found most of the characters to only be entertaining during fight scenes but unlikeable overall. The romance and relationships felt forced and tacked on with hyperbolic melodrama used with the excuse of "it's a self-aware joke... silly" as a strawman argument to justify every serious moment. Honestly the most disturbing aspect of this film is how it makes jokes about pedophilia at certain points, I'm simply not one who understands how calling it a "joke" justifies telling the poorly made joke when most of us know we would never say that in public situations but fanboys justify anything. The normalization of child molestation is A BIG no for me & other sane moral decent human beings, except for Disney of course smh. The only part of the movie that genuinely impressed me was by the end when we see Wolverine, other than that it was a 'meh' experience for me & many others. GoTG Volume 2 is a much better example of a funny yet heartwarming film in everyway. Nice vid at attempting to curve the majority perception tho

Honestly that one scene of Deadpool asking about who hurt him is reason enough to love this movie. It doesn't over emphasize it, Wade doesn't go insane and do something crazy. He looks like he takes a calm and collected moment to decide what to do before doing what he believes is right. That whole scene I knew what was coming but instead of getting the joy one would get from something like that I felt more tense. Watching the kid hide his expressions and try to not blatantly say anything but doesn't want to be hurt anymore. Honestly I hope we get one more hero story with Ryan before it becomes that yearly raunchy comedy I think Deadpool is going to become inevitably but who knows. All I realized after hearing you talk and watching the movie myself on opening week is that everyone did a great job with the writing and any reservations I had after one were blown out of the water.

People genuinely don’t like the second? I enjoyed it significantly more than the first. Mainly because the second seemed more story oriented instead of just dirty jokes that felt like they were used just too much that they lost their humour by the end

to me, 'Deadpool 2' is the nail in the coffin for Hollywood, just another cgi heavy spoon feeding the audience with really obvious unfunny "jokes" that can be seen a mile off, and bland action set pieces
Zazie Beetz is the only positive to me, and I say this as a fan of the original.
I really wanted to like it and I say this, as a fan of the first Film.
Maybe it's an age thing, but I'd rather have something mentally stimulating , instead off completely forgettable.

Honestly I didn't even know people thought Deadpool 2 was disappointing, I thought it improved on pretty much everything in the first movie. Much better action scenes, more fleshed out characters, more interesting plot. For some reason the cgi on Colossus looked noticeably worse than in the first Deadpool, but that didn't bother me a whole lot.

I rewatched Deadpool one and started seeing that the jokes didn't really hit as much as the first time I watched it. Like it was more of "that's some shit Deadpool would say". But the sequel has some fucking WELL CRAFTED jokes that stay funny regardless of how many times you watch it. My favorite joke imo: "He even runs like a fuckin pervert." "Like an online predator who lost his laptop". That joke and the visual act of the headmaster running is why I admire that joke. DP2 has a special place in my heart.

Didn't pay attention to reviews and it didn't feel like the sequel got a whole lot of attention on youtube either but personally I thought the second one was way better than the first one. I can admit that not all of the jokes were as solid or landed as well as the first one but in terms of the story, development of characters and even how unstable Deadpool can be was done way better.
The action and visual effects were way better too . I think the only thing where the first one was much better was the way it handled 4th wall breaks and I guess that is pretty central to the character.

I wasn't crazy about the first Deadpool. I certainly didn't hate it, but it didn't speak to me like it spoke to everyone else. I guess my biggest problem with it was that it felt more like an extended proof-of-concept than anything else. But the sequel took that concept and realized it to its full potential, and that's why I love it.

  • LorD fArkWod&,&/& M

One thing that I think is beautiful is the way that Vanessa pulls wade onto her side just as the guy from a-ha pulls the girl in the take on me music video at the exact same point in the song

i actually prefer Deadpool 2. It holds up better on repeat viewings. Deadpool 1 just isn't funny by the third time you watch it because 90% of the jokes rely on surprising the audience to be funny. Don't watch the extended cut of Deadpool 2. Its so much worse than the theatrical its not even funny. It's like they actively tried to make the movie worse for dvd/bluray.

I only just recently saw Deadpool 2 for the first time and it immediately clicked with me better than the first. It's that distinctly selfless mission he undertakes and his love for his adopted family that made it more endearing. It tells a very powerful story about saving someone's soul and has a ton of heartfelt moments in it. Even that scene where he chases down Vanessa's killer and he simply gives him a hug before throwing themselves into an oncoming truck.
The first film feels a bit more juvenile than the sequel in comparison. Wade actually grows and learns to care for others. Even his interaction with Yukio are sweet. He goes back in time to save Peter. He gets Colossus to fight dirty and say fuck. Lol. It's just all around better than the first because he's so much more endearing while still not giving up his personality.
