How often do you really have "only" software problems and dont have to change the heads/bearing whatever physically?

If the drive is clicking, then in most cases you do need to change heads. But, there are certain models with very high rates of firmware malfunction that come in constantly. I'd estimate that around 65% of cases don't actually need new heads.

+Clayton Costa Hi Clayton. Sorry I never seem to have received an email from you. I definitely wouldn't recommend Data Compass, DDI 4 is a much more powerful tool. Here's a review I wrote about DC: www.data-medics.com/data-recovery-blog/salvation-data-review-data-compass/
Perhaps soon I'll write one for DDI 4.

+Clayton Costa What type of drive? For many you can't add families that don't exist, and might have to just wait for Ace to update. Can you post more details on my forum? www.data-medics.com/forum/

They no longer sell the UDMA edition used in this video. They only sell the newer UDMA-e and Express editions which cost around $8000 & $12000 respectively.
