I don't agree with the idea that praising your mother on father's day is like straight people asking for straight pride. If your father was absent and she was the single mother and the only one who raised you then she did the work of both parents and deserves to be celebrated on both days.

Maybe if smart black fathers would stop blasting HipHop in their car while their children are seated inside, their kids would have higher IQ and do better later in school.

    COLLECTOR30 2 months ago

Liberals really do hate black people. They have to put black dads because most of them leave their child? That’s messed up 🔻

You’re just factually incorrect. Black men tend to grow up without fathers in the United States. That’s a fact. I don’t get why you’re crying.

*Sigh* Set aside skin color shouldnt even really be a factor here at all..Couldn't just be a decent well meaning video, huh? Had to fit the political ideologies in there somewhere, huh? Guys, racism exists but what keeps alot of black fathers away from their children are bad decisions they made. We can continue to work on the racism part of that equation as long as needed but real change won't happen until personal responsibility becomes a more common thing. What else that doesn't help that to happen is teaching children the racism boogie man is always out to get them and so they give up and make those bad decisions. Staaap.

I’ve never met my dad. Mostly because after I was born he was in prison states away for a very long time. After he got out tho the last call I got from him was when I was 8 and he told me him and my mom wouldn’t be together anymore. I didn’t get a message a call or anything again until I was 18 and he found me on Facebook. Do I hate him? No. I did but it’s just hurting me. And idk what he’s got going on to stop him for being a good dad to his first six kids. But I see he’s trying with his last two and as long as they’re happy I’m happy. I don’t think kfnhim first when I think of Father’s Day and I think that’s my right tho

    • yo! its Tony Tone!
yo! its Tony Tone! Month ago

@WaVy Crockett #JizzBoss actually it's not. Just because the father isn't living with them doesn't mean they're not in their kids lives. And let's keep it real. It's a problem period in America. White men can be deadbeats too. But like so many other negative stereotypes the black male is made the face of it.

I enjoyed the video, but I honestly wanted the black dads from the barbecue video on here. They were amazing, we need more of them!
And for those hating on this being a Black dad video, why not? Why shouldn’t we celebrate black dads? I’m white, and when you see any hallmark advert or similar, they’re usually white dads in the advert. Thank you buzzfeed for being more inclusive and showing amazing black dads and talking about fatherhood. Without positive role models- for everyone- how are we going to better ourselves?

It’s not being black that causes these social problems, it’s being poor and people sometimes don’t have a choice to be in a better life situation

    • Stanley Scalf
      Stanley Scalf 2 months ago

@taf the fact that the single parent rate is so high. I said why. the value of the father in the home has become culturally devalued. also the governmental benefit incentive for the father to not be in the home. this doesn't just apply to low income black house hold it's other races too just to a lesser degree. I hate dividing things by race but this instance it is affecting blacks in GENERAL more. I've some first hand experience with this, although my personal experience i don't usually bring up because that is anecdotal compared to nation wide statistics. it's economic slavery if it is anything. the Dems take care of you and you vote Dem. It's been going on for the last 40 decades and it's just getting worse.

    • taf
      taf 2 months ago

Stanley Scalf how is it cultural, what evidence are you basing it on? Genuine question

    • Stanley Scalf
      Stanley Scalf 3 months ago

if it was STRICTLY a economic issue then the single mother household rate across all races wouldn't vary as much. It's not a racial inferiority problem, so don't think i'm implying that, it's a cultural one if it's anything.

Completely INAPPROPRIATE.

Some people are getting the wrong idea they're not doing black men to highlight absent black fathers in a bad way. Sadly absent fathers are something that has happened a lot in the poc community but they're talking about their experiences and what having an absent dad has taught them also they're showing that this generation of black fathers can be better than the last because they're there for their kids and have learned what parenting skills should be improved
