See a lot of people asking about the list of supplies he used. So here's a list of what he used, and some things that'll make your projects easier/longer lasting:
+Leather- Vegetable tanned 4-5 ounce for the back, 2-3 ounce for the pockets.
+Dye- Looks like Tandy's Eco-Flo. Fiebings Pro dye gives better coverage and is easier to work with though.
+Finish (not shown)- Carnauba cream or atom wax followed by an acrcylic finish to waterproof.
+Gum tragacanth (not shown)- for slicking edges with burnishing tool.
    +Sponges/wool daubers
+Stitching chisel, or pricking iron in the uk.
    +Awl
+Edge beveller- #2 is good for most projects
+Stitching groover (not shown)- grooves out your lines so threads lay flat.
    +Wing divider
    +Utility knife
    +Wood slicker/burnishing tool (not shown)
    +Waxed thread and blunt needles
    +Contact cement
    +Safety Skiver
+Cutting matt- self healing are the best

Don't take this the wrong way, but leather working is another skill much different than what you do. Your a really talented metal/shop worker, but this being another skill don't underestimate. To be good at this is just as hard as your main craft, just different. You did a pretty good job for your first wallet but you could have used a much much better template. You put allot of work into a crappy design no offense. Please dont take that the wrong way you're very talented. You live to go gung ho and learn by doing. Im the same way so I force myself to put all my ideas down and map them out.

Little tip for guessing how much thread you need on a saddle stitch. Take your piece that you're stitching and run the thread along side the stitch marks. Then double back along the stitch marks till you make it back to the start of them. Then add in about 6 to 12 inches, depending on confidence. You'll need the little extra bit to stitch back and make a good friction fit for the ends, and it can be tricky to feed the needles through when you run low on thread. Also it never hurts to have a little extra, just in case you skipped a corner or something.

A fitting introduction since the wallet created closely resembles something we in the states and definitely here in Texas as a "Roper" wallet. I've made wallets and all kinds of stuff including tooling. When you tool leather like you did with the union jack it will give you a much more definite impression is you moisten the surface with a damp sponge. Lol I think that waxed stitching stuff is called artificial sinue as in dried tendons which are turned into strands and waxed for durability. I think the artificial stuff is more durable nylon and or polyester. It's an excellent choice in projects where the stitching is part of its decoration. It's also very tough and durable. I like to burn the ends and smoosh the melted thread so it doesn't pull out. Great job!
