Dumplin' sucked. The main character was a bitch and she had literally no character arch/improvement.

Just watched Dumplin and thought about how much I resonates with Will. It was amazing to see how she tackles everything. She is motivating and a true example of self love. I’m glad she was able to get over herself (as well all have to do at some point) and be exactly who she is....beautiful. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

    *LOVE LOVE LOVE* this movie!
I cried like a big ol cry baby throughout the entire movie. And I'm not a huge country music fan, but I have heard Dolly Parton songs before, but this movies soundtrack made me love Dolly almost as much as Willowdean Opal. Excellent movie! 😊💞

She's such an inspiration to all women, not matter what their body type, or what type of life they come from, everyone can relate to Dolly! My favorite quote from her... "it takes a lot of money to look this cheap!" What an amazing woman. And such a great empowering movie.

Some people are really annoying me in the comments, saying that it's not a good message and being fat isn't anything to be proud of and that you're *ALWAYS* unhealthy if you're fat.
    1. THIS is not true for skinny people could have a terrible, unhealthy diet, and a fat person could be healthy with fruit, veg and many other things.
    2. It's a freaking film, get over it.
If you are one of these people, then get a life and stop hating on "morbidly obese people" as you classify Willowdean. You a practically saying no one who is fat can love themself.

This movie sends an unhealthy message to people and encourages them to give up on trying to stay in shape, instead opting to indulge in delusion of obesity positivity. The main character is morbidly obese and puts herself in danger of major health complications. Basically, it's sick leftist propaganda. Unbelievable that more people aren't speaking out against the toxic message residing in this movie.
Save yourself effort of sitting through this odious immoral nightmare of accepting what is unacceptable and demanding tolerance for the intolerable and use the run time of the film to actually go for a run.
You'd feel better exercising than trying to defy biological reality with delusions of obesity positivity.

Every body is a swimsuit body. At the beginning willow dean was at the public pool in a shirt and shorts. Indicative of her not feeling comfortable in her own skin. But as the story progresses she is strutting across the stage in a swimsuit exuding confidence. A lesson for anyone who thinks it's ok to belittle someone who isnt conventionally "beautifil". Take several seats.

Another example of people’s stupidity. They are like a bunch of whimsical kids, doing tantrums when things don’t go their way. Meaning crapping all over something that don’t respond well to them. I’m not one to convince or forbid anyone to watch something. But the way most lovers of this movie are, is what makes me angry and writing this post. Being overweight is not cool, it’s not something to be proud of or look up to. Plus it endangers your health, and complicates your life more than anything else. And don’t expect the hot guy next door, to fall for you either. This really needs to be taken with a grain of salt, and not rave about it, because it’s flattering your delusions.
Insatiable was all over the place, and over the top outrageous. But it was a little more realistic than this overly sheltered fairytale and dangerously misleading film.

curlzncrush She's not morbidly obese or even obese at all. She's just fat. Overweight at worst. I'm sorry you hate fat people so much.

    • curlzncrush
      curlzncrush 7 months ago +1

@candi0826 Because of the horribly unhealthy message this sends to young impressionable people that you can be morbidly obese and still be healthy/beautiful. It's not reality, it's delusion and it's not going to help America's 40% obesity rate. With socialized healthcare, hardworking and healthy people will have to pay more for obesity related disease treatment. A much more positive message for this film would have been that she loses the weight through diet and exercise to become healthy and actually beautiful and demonstrates how anyone can get in shape and not demand that the world accept you for the unhealthy slob you are.
Would say an alcoholic is beautiful because they can't stop drinking? It's the same thing with overeating in this film.

    • curlzncrush
      curlzncrush 7 months ago +1

@Aimi Mori She's literally morbidly obese. Major health complications arise from such a grossly unhealthy lifestyle. This movie promotes poor health as some deluded sense of alternative beauty. Reality check, it's not, it will put you in an early, overstuffed grave.
