Oooh yes i relate to this so much, i have the same reaction with spiderwebs. Just looking at one through the screen makes me wanting to get rid of my hands and straight up go and wash my hands several times. Wired feeling to have

I have it for a lot of fabrics like fleece and wool but I love touching velvet cause it’s soooo soft
I'm an Aspie with some sensory issues and I don't think I could use this keyboard without CONSTANTLY wiping off my fingers with a baby wipe because it looks like it would make me feel like I always have residue on my fingers.
Also, I hunt and peck, so I couldn't use it anyways.
If you don’t want to paint the flocking stuff directly to your nails, you could always do a Peely base from Holo Taco, or get some glue on nails from the drugstore!

Reminds me of some late 1980's My Little Pony toys that were covered in velvet flocking. It took a lot of play dates for those to eventually rub away. Some other toys were like that too I just cannot remember them all, it was most definitely a Fad.
Oh yes I had lots of teeny bears in various pastel colours and their ears always ended up bald
Oh cool! I’ve only seen flocking using an electric current to make the flock stand on its end (fake grass for dioramas and stuff like that.) it’s awesome seeing how easy it can be for small items!

Perhaps a follow up: Start with back lit red keys, and use clear nail polish for the flocking glue an then see if the light through the flocking is more even.
I'd love that, but considering this took them 7 to 8 days to figure out and finish, I really doubt they'll go any deeper on this particular idea.

idea: 3d Print key caps with raised lettering then you can either feel the letters or rub the flocking off the raised part to see them.

Could just raise the lettering per key and then mask it off (make the filament like black or white for example to contrast, and meticulously cut the masking tape around the raised lettering. Then flock it and peel off the masking tape. Lots of time but hey it would work well.
Print them in Braille so visually impaired folks can use it!!
@GoatZilla Not every one can type without seeing the keyboard only pros can do that like me im currently not looking at my keyboard and im making mistakes and just deleting it and typing it again its not easy to type without seeing your keyboard if your not used to it

I actually had a nail polish flocking set years ago! This brings back memories (of a lot of mess, it wasn't the most practical nail art design, but it was fun and oddly satisfying). Katelyn please do it, it's so fun.

I've been super stressed lately with my job (I work at an architecture firm) and with trying to buy my first home with my partner (yayyyy but also aggghhh this housing market), and your videos have really been helping me stay calm and feel motivated to find time for things that I love. They were a thing 10 years ago. There were nail kits for it. Ciaté used to make one
You could get some press ons, fully allow them to dry, then apply them to your nails. That stuff takes 3 days to fully dry and i bet won't be easy to come off. Save yourself the weeks of regret lol
They could actually make a full video on crazy nail designs with the press-ons, I'm sure it would be great!

Yep! They had the flocking and the itty bitty balls that never fully dried and chunked off horribly lol
Katelyn can totally flock her nails, but I would recommend a regular nail polish for the base.
They were super popular and when I tried them I HATED that they stayed kinda damp when I washed my hands

What Katelyn can do is paint acrylic nails with the flock adhesive, do the flocking, and then use acrylic nail glue to attach the acrylic nails to her real nails. That way it’s velvet nails without damaging your real nails! 😂😅
I mean, they actually sell that stuff made specifically for nails and it sill stick to any normal nail polish or base coat, so it doesn't damage the nails. This was a trend a long time ago.

My car had a cracked dashboard so I took this same exact stuff (in black) and flocked my dashboard it’s held up in high heat and extreme cold for over 3 years now and it looks and feels amazing it’s also a great conversation starter
Edit, fun fact: it’s also used in a lot of race cars to reduce the glare from the sun

It's safe once it dries. The fuzzy stuff is not fun to inhale...
I'd just use normal nail polish as a base, since I wouldn't be able to not use my hands for THREE DAYS to let the stuff dry!
Yes if katelyn sees this please put a like peel off base coat or something below the flocking glue in case. Or! Buy and do them on press on nails. You can put the press ons onto like a stick and flock/ let them dry properly then stick it on your nails. :)
