  • Hey! So today I am sharing my experience with an induced labor with pitocin and no epidural. I had a very positive birth experience and hopefully this will calm the nerves of some of you looking into being induced! I'll take you through the day from when we left home, what my contractions were like, upping the dose of pitocin, breaking my water, and how our first night in the hospital went. Enjoy!
Also! Follow me on IG! I have a story saved with really innovative baby products I’ve found, a story for bump dates, and a story for newborn life/postpartum!

I’m 40 weeks and my cervix back closed from 1cm. They’re going to induce in a week and it’s not what I hoped for. I’m praying that I can still aim for an unmediated birth but I anticipate induction being long and rough. I’m so glad to know you were induced and made it thru! Gives me hope.

Water breaking does not hurt. Often the baby comes slithering out with the water. Quick and easy.

Yeah this is NOT always the case. I was induced with my first and they broke my water and it was too early. I was in labor for 24 hours with her. She did not just come out lol. I'm due very shortly with my second hopefully not needing to be induced but if I am they will NOT be breaking my water. Itll be breaking on its own

@Shannon VanFleet thank you so much!! I've already started dialating and cervix is 80% effaced. I have a history of rapid labors so they want me in a more controlled environment 🙌

I ended up having to get pitocin as well and I had no epidural as well. You did awesome by the way! Did you feel anything when giving birth? Like any tearing If you did or like the ring of fire some women say they experience

    • razzle channel
      razzle channel 5 months ago

@Shannon VanFleet oh wow I kinda wish I felt more but I think my adrenaline kicked in and I didn't feel anything I didn't even know I had torn. I had to get induced as well because i was just staying at a 8 for a while and my water still didn't break. I was hoping it would break but it didn't. But my experience was good. Just the breastfeeding thing I feel is hard at times. I'm still getting used to it but yes you did awesome:) women are the bomb!

It's so nice to see other moms being induced and not getting the epidural! I was induced and I was in labor forever (33 hours) and so happy I did it naturally...I think it helped so much with pushing and getting up afterwards. Next time I'm going to do what you did and tell them not to break my water...because it didn't do anything lol
    Congratulations!!

It doesn’t make a difference if you have pain meds or not, I had an epidural which they turned off just before the birth and pushed for about 15 mins and the baby came out.

Did you do anything to prepare yourself for the induction ?

    • Shannon VanFleet

But no special kind! Just regular pitted dates from the grocery store!

@Shannon VanFleet what kind of dates and was it just regular dates or you cooked en or prepared em s certain way? Getting induced and really nervous

    • Shannon VanFleet
Shannon VanFleet  7 months ago +4

Yes I ate dates!! I have a video where I go over the research (actual credible studies) and share some recipes. I think that’s why my cervix was so soft!

Aww congratulations! Your hubby and you should do more videos together 😁 I’m getting induced on Monday and I’m so nervous because people say it’s more painful 😓 also i hate the idea of a cannula in my hand- I hate needles so so much! It feels so unreal that I will actually have a baby in my arms, maybe I’ll be pregnant forever lol. I was also the person who messaged you somewhere else if you remember because I was so excited you were pregnant and I loved your TheXvid videos and couldn’t believe it was you 💗 we made it!

    • Shannon VanFleet
Shannon VanFleet  7 months ago +2

Lol yes I remember!! I’ve heard from a few people who have had both spontaneous labor and induced labor that they couldn’t tell the difference in the intensity of contractions! They said it was the same pain! You’ll do great!
