The sheer theatre of proceedings in the House of Commons is embarrassing to me as an Englishman.

So ... Corbyn extends a gentlemanly olive branch, and Cameron responds by slapping him in the face. Regardless of what one thinks of Corbyn, I don't know what scares me more - the fact that this is standard in today's politics, or the fact that people seem to think this reflects well on Cameron.

It were ever thuse Andy. Go back as far as yo like in the history of the commons and you'll find similar and worse behaviour. This is a members club pure and simple.

@Robert Dore don't be so pompous, I am a history graduate, I know what the purpose of the H of C is. Many great PM's had a little bit of charisma in addition to other necessary qualities! Plus there is nothing self serving or reptilian about David Cameron, he is beautiful and decent.

    • Robert Dore

Almost as self serving and reptilian as that Bar Steward Blair. The Commons isn't there for entertainment purposes; it exists to SERVE the people of this country.

Have to say DC and his one liners at PMQ's will be missed. He made politics interesting, now it's going back to being dull again. A genuinely nice man, but a lot of Brits can only wallow in their self pity and blame him for years of austerity.
