I've watched this 4 times. I don't know if I can wait any longer!

Karl mentioned on the radio when he was on Richard Bacon's show that it was only meant to be a one off episode, but it was so good and they got so much footage that they decided to make it a series. So really, we get more than originally intended.

Maybe they had this interview after a shoot one day, from an un-shown episode ready for TV. Maybe it's just a little promo thing for both, Gervais is smart in knowing how to market stuff. And then, the re-written copy that I was talking about on that same sentence, that copy gets sent to America before UK.
Even though it is made in the UK, like many things such as AI guns to games, it is still release over seas first.
They grab the item when it is in Britain, and take it over sea's, let them take as much as they want, and bring the left overs back here.
Hence the reason why UK could only pre-order unofficially AFTER the Americans were done.

The Hour series 2 just started in the UK and isn't starting in the US until the end of the month. I'm fairly sure the mini-series of Parade's End came out in the UK first too (in fact I don't even know if it's been shown on TV over there yet)
