Michelle Khare hi! I just found your channel and I've been binging your videos. I can totally relate to this video! I applied to an Ivy too. I wish I had a counselor like you did. I think that would have helped remedy the mistakes I made.
Cool video! I hope you make more like these!!!😺

God Michelle, this is why I love you. You're so honest! I never used watch youtube until I came across your channel. Thanks for the not-so-pro-tips btw. They were really helpful. I'm only an 8th grader, and grades are basically my life. I worked my butt off to get 8 high school credits, but I never had fun. I'm gonna try my best to figure out who I really am and will enjoy my high school years thanks to you. You have been a huge inspiration to me and will continue to be for a LONG time. Thank you so so much!

I'm not sure if anyone will ever see this comment, but if you do, I need a little bit of help. I'm starting ninth grade next year, and I am taking all honors classes plus an AP course. Any tips on how to prepare for a multitude of homework assignments and juggling extra-curricular activities at the same time?

    P.S. I'm gonna die!!!!!!

I honesly have no idea why I`m watching this. I got into the college of my dream, lived through such fucked up times, pushed through everything that hold me back, to just...get dissappointed, understand that I have no idea what I even like in life, to understand sometimes I can`t even tell which color I like more, yet a job...just to get depression and ultimatelly get stuck. I`m 20, and I feel like life ended, so I`m watching this vids now to create the illusion of full life that someone else have....

Haha two of my current teachers went to Ivy League schools. One went to UPenn and the other went to Harvard. Too bad there is not anyone in my community that I know of who went to the Ivy League I want to try to apply for (Cornell). Well if all goes wrong there's always GA Tech and UGA for me.

Thanks for the video!. I am currently a senior and just sent my application in to Dartmouth RD. I have a legacy of many generations of my dad's family attending and my grandfather donated to the school. I have an ACT score of 30, unweighted GPA of around 3.82 and have two AP classes, a half-dozen honors classes and other regular classes that I took in my high school. I have a little more than a dozen things on my resume and seem like a pretty well-rounded student. Do you think I have a likely chance of getting accepted?

Thanks a lot! I was having a bad day, that day when you’re negative about everything and after watching this my day got better. This is really good advice because everyone who wants to get into an Ivy League school is so focused in the scores that forgets about the human part and showing who you really are. 💕

I love the 'don't go to jail point'. My cousin got into Columbia University and his essay was on how he was falsely accused. He spent the night in jail.

I'm giving my teachers my resume tomorrow for rec letters. I have so much anxiety man. Idk if I chose the right teachers to ask. I wanted to ask my theater director, but my parents wanted me to ask my old chem and lang teacher, so idk. I got good grades in their classes and I think they know me as a person. I'm not sure about how much they like me.. they hopefully do.

Applying for university is so easy in New Zealand compared to other countries, you barely have to do any work because the administration team does it for you. You just fill out an online form with your basic information and they will contact your school for teacher references and your grades, and then you’re in. As long as you’ve passed high school you can get into any university here, you don’t need to be exceptionally good at anything or write any essays.

ı have a question. I am high school student and this year there is a long path for me about math and physic olimpics. And ıf ı attend those olimpics ı am not be able of attending any social activity in my school. my solution is to study by myself at home to olimpics so ı can attend to activites at school too (maybe ı even do not attend olimpics). And ı want to study abroad too. So what should ı do? Do ı have to attend olimpics or should ı attend social activities? (If ı have grammer mistakes sorry for that:))

I am so happy you made this video! I am at Yale right now, and I can totally relate to that feeling of diversity. I was very hesitant to go to Yale, because I really thought that I would not fit into the stereotypical rich, privileged, beyond intelligent student. Although I scored well on the SAT, enough to get in, I knew that I would be a small fish in a BIG pond. I was completely wrong. Although there are some, people come from ALL backgrounds. I really hope people aren’t deterred by the intimidating image of an “Ivy League” or top university. Good luck, future college students!

Do you have to become a valedictorian in order to be accepted into a Ivy League?

  • Mina Victoria Stensland

In Norway most universities just look at your grades, we dont write essays, we dont have the SAT, and they dont CARE What you do outside of school. But i like IT.

If your grades in high school suck there is still hope for you. I almost didn't graduate. I basically just met the mark. I took time off and then went to community college in January instead of right away in September. By the time I finished there with my associates degree, I applied to and got accepted at every four year school I went for, apart from NYU. I wound up going to George Washington University - which may not be an Ivy, but its still a pretty damn good school. (Especially if you're studying political science or international relations.) Now I'm in graduate school at NYU so I've basically come full circle. Going to community college gave me confidence I had lost in high school and gave me the chance to really figure out what I wanted from school. Plus I saved a ton of money. There are a lot of paths to academic success. Be patient and work hard. You'll get there if you keep trying.

I really want to get accepted into Tulane, although it's not an ivy league school, it is a private university that requires a recommended 29 on the ACT. I'm worried I won't get that high. And I know there are a lot better
