But as far as stardom and fans, it's going to take time for him to establish a mainstream appeal like Drake, ye, sean, and chance have. @IORI and that's what a lot of people forget is the reason Kendrick and cole hold the crown is their versatility and the fact they check every box, can they make trap music? If they want to, can they flow very well? Yep. Do they have some deep ass lyrics? Yep. Do they respect the older rappers that came before them and their peers on their level? Yep. Can they make an r&b track if needed and do it well? Yep. Can they flow real quick and get the joyner, logic, and eminem fans all happy? Yep. I can keep going but you get the message, someone's who holds the crown can Not just have a good flow or, just have good bars, or just be able to do conscious rap, or just able to do good hooks. They have to be the best in every box to have the crown. A lot of people forget their is sun genres of rap and that each rapper has something that shines about them that hides some of their flaws, like kaans crazy fast ass flow and the ability of his vocabulary mask the fact he doesn't always say the deepest shit or come off as coherent.
@IORI are you gunna tell me at some point during kaancepts you didn't think about doing your laundry and washing your dishes? Dudes got a nice flow and can rap his ass off but he doesn't put enough substance within the amount of words he's spouting off, that's a problem with a lot of rappers is they can have some lyricism but they get so caught up in their flow they just start rhyming shit and just talking about random shit and it makes the song not flow so well, that's why Kendrick is at the place he's at because he can rap very quickly, but it also has substance and he knows when to switch it up when it's becoming stale, something kaan lacks at times. Kaan is a really good rapper but the people he's going to appeal to usually are people that like people like Joyner Lucas and similar artist where their flow is the main reason you come to them, sure they'll have a few bars that are meaningful but its nothing like a locksmith, or a mick Jenkins, or a earl sweatshirt.
@rashid davis I'm saying he's the best also on the fact of mick Jenkins, mick Jenkins first big album the waters had people calling him one of the best of our generation before his 2 most recent albums, before he only had the waters as his debut. The never story by J.I.D is right next to the waters by mick Jenkins to me, jid and mick are my two rappers of our generation that I like a whole fuckin lot, that's why I place J.I.D so highly because he's been mastering his craft like mick has. They both have witty ass punches, both drop these nuggets of deep wisdom, both have an amazing ability to switch up their style to fit a track, all the rapper mention I feel are all rushing to grab that torch, but the two that I believe can get it are mick and J.I.D, only based on the reason mick can go bar for bar with Kendrick and J.I.D will likely be able to in 2 years time.
@IORI you're stuck on the nostalgic flow he has, he raps real quick with big words and that snatches a lot of people, I think J.I.D is miles further in his career than K.A.A.N right now, not saying he's bad, because I love his music and his personality, but I think J.I.D is definitely more of a gem, I mean J cole picked him for a reason and j cole has a really good ear for people.
