Gods the captions are so off on this video. Usually they're spot on for the CritRole videos, so I was really caught off guard. It's especially difficult since Liam's voice is so hard to make out on the video call.

Not gonna lie, this entire scenario would have been way more dangerous if Mollymauk was still around. Cad is such a voice of reason for this very "not okay with authority" group. Nonetheless, long may he reign.

Well, it seems to me, Abyssal Forces are performing a classic, 'divide and conquer' tactic. They are doing things, getting each side to blame the other, whilst obviously a larger plan is at play. No one in the party seems to have guessed at that though. Most likely wrong, but they are too focused on how they look to the factions, and very much held back by indecisiveness.

    "How old are you?"
    "Old enough."
That's literally my answer whenever someone asks me! Old enough! Because I'm old enough (in the US) to drink, marry, drive, vote, fight, smoke, rent a car, etc. I don't do hardly any of those things, but I'm old enough!

  • Sébastien Auger
    Sébastien Auger 10 days ago

Maybe it's me but I don't understand why they're so bent on believing that they helped free the laughing hand. I mean Obann was going there anyway, wether Jester had scryed or not, wether they had decided to go to that house with the goblin & the invisible bugbear or not... At least they tried to do something. Trying to prevent something from happening and failing vs actually facilitating and helping that thing happen, that's two completely different things.

    • Patrick
      Patrick 8 days ago

I think they're referring more the the fact that they literally(and somewhat knowingly) helped him through the chambers to get there. In that sense, they 100% did help release the Laughing Hand. They also tried to stop him, and they do now have valuable Intel on the situation, but neither of those facts suprecede the fact that they're at least partially responsible.

I stand by Caduceus, but I get the concern from the others. But in essence, Caduceus is closest to reality, while the others are already thinking about an explanation of their situation from a standpoint that might be the most self-preserving.
