You should buy air-conditioning rather than a 2080ti

For the first time ever, I checked out the sponsor. I do need a new phone case and would like a screen protector since I'm done buying new phones every other year, but they have nothing on the Galaxy Note 8. I'm actually pretty disappointed.

I don't really see how this AIO arrangement could give better cooling than a traditional air one. a.The heat exchanger total surface cannot be much larger than an equivalent 2.7 slots air cooler; b. the air flow after the radiator is restricted at the same level of an air cooler. Additionally this system can only recirculate air inside the case that would be already warmer than fresh air used to cool a conventional AIO system. Considering the price will be certainly not so convenient, I do not see good reasons to produce something like this.

Also, the coldplate isn't covering the HBM because this isn't a Radeon 7, this is a 2080Ti and it uses GDDR6, not HBM.

Linus i have suggestion for you. Its easy on workbench/testboard to plug in and out monsters like this. Id like to see next time you use most average box/power supply, MBO, and all little cables and gizmos connected, what most users have. Try then to fit it in ;)
And time it how long it takes for you from unboxing to system boot. XD

  • Beba 2
    Beba 2 4 days ago

Thats a huge beast...im thinking how many mid towers can host that , and what kind of board for 3, or 4 slot card even? Not many comes on top of my mind... With vents down, it will blow direct on HDDs and PSu corner.. not good.. Really only some very rare boxes can host that. I prefer waterblock separate so i can do push-pull with vents.. This makes things very complicated, and not worth money and effort for few FPS you can gain...

You all know that this isn't something Linus 'sneakily' did behind Asus' back right?...
How do you get a tech youtuber to give your card a lot of attention and make a VERY interesting video about it?.. you let him take it apart!
Seriously, the marketing guy at Asus that came up with this idea deserves a nice fat bonus.
