I think it's going to be very interesting to see how different measures were or were not effective based on different countries political structures and other circumstances like the general trust in government and government authorities.
So far in Europe, I think you can see a difference between countries who have put the decisions on what restrictions and measures should be done at what time on either by their relevant government authorities quite independently or if it's handled in parliament or by the leading party/parties.
So far it seems countries who mainly make those decisions by elected politicians seem to be more inclined to take more drastic restrictions faster and test measures there is no evidence behind that it works. Which is both good and bad I think.

2:20 You’ve completely misunderstood the message here. You can still work whether it’s necessary or not, the restriction here is you should not travel to work if it is possible to work from home. If you can not work from home (like in chemical production) then you can still travel to work.

Please rethink your thesis and stop repeating what everyone is parrot fashion repeating! Its not about saving lives - its about maintaining order! If 2-20% of society dies - so what? States have sent such numbers to die in wars without a second thought. But if people fall sick or fear it they will stop going to work and supply chains break down , no food, fuel, banks close...anarchy will result - thus the government pretends it will save us by flattening the curve - tell me how 100,000 beds a respirators will be made avaliable overnight? But, hey you are free to believe in fairy tales

Shop local, in little corner stores and buy only what you need, and shop maybe once a week, once a day maximum. Corner stores restock every day, not just once a week. You'll also minimize your exposure, rather than go into the town center.

So, you had government scientists for weeks telling people that the best way to get through this is to contract the virus and build a herd immunity. During the initial weeks of the crisis, our government quite literally adopted a policy of business as usual and ‘take it on the chinism.’ We kept schools open far beyond what we should have. We kept international flights going far longer than we should have. The government did not even bar visitors to residential homes (it was the homes themselves that ignored the government's lack of advice and took the initiative, as did the Premier League and others when it came to sporting events.) We even had Johnson himself boasting about shaking hands with coronavirus victims.
Then, when they realised they had taken moronic steps, and wasted time, did they make up for it by immediately putting in place stricter measures? No. They wishy washily 'advised' people to self isolate and maintain social distancing, while leaving it up to the discretion of employers to determine if their workers should come in to work. Then they wonder why people were still using public transport? Until recently, there were no provisions to help people self isolate. You could only get sick leave if you were tested positive (guess what, there was a shortage of tests) or you could take your laughable Universal Credit payments (which by the way, is still the only help available to the self employed)
So now, after weeks of contradictory and wishy washy advice, the next evolution of their strategy is to finger point at ordinary people for their 'selfishness' (it isn't the governments fault for allowing this to get so bad, it is these awful people hanging around a park the government never closed) order to distract from their own gross incompetence. Telling people to online shop is just another example of this. Has Johnson actually tried to shop online recently? There are no deliveries available until well into April at the earliest if ever.
Basically, instead of preparing us for coronavirus in January by increasing the beds in the NHS, by buying respirators, by finding capacities for building new respirators, giving NHS workers hazmat suits, supplying businesses with hand sanitizers, warning citizens to slowly stock up on essentials early, and beginning the process of mass testing, Johnson's main concerns were big ben and his holiday. And now you're telling me that they didn't even do the bare minimum of preparing a mass warning system?

The lockdown policy is far more dangerous than the virus. Millions will die due to the lockdown, food in UK will start running out in a couple of weeks, imports will slow down starvation and suicides will be far worse than the virus. The UK is one of the most vunerable areas in the world due the massive obese population.

  • Fainthen

Nope, one person can potentially infect five to fifty by going to a grocery store, those five to fifty can potentially infect another five to fifty each, during the incubation period and before anyone shows symptoms, the spread of the virus is already taking place, so within a week that one person infecting others could turn to a hundread thousand, in a place like London. Remember that not everyone infected shows any symptoms, nor get tested, so the cases confirmed now are those who may have been infected a while ago. The fact that people are not taking the virus seriously due to the fake official report of CCP / PRC isnt helping either, I'm personally willing to bet that the number of infected in mainland China as well as the deathtoll there are between five to fifty times the official number they've reported, when you include deaths that were brought about due to other complications after the virus weakened their immune system.

Does anyone know why the lockdown is specifically 3 weeks to start? India's lockdown is also 3 weeks, so I'm guessing there's some underlying reason for choosing that number as opposed to 2 or 4.

    • Kartissa
      Kartissa 5 hours ago

The incubation period can last up to 2 weeks (with an average of 5 days), with the progression from showing initial symptoms to needing medical ventilation taking another 7-8 days.
2 weeks wouldn't be long enough to be certain, and 4 or more would be superfluous, and therefore detrimental to society and the economy.

Not all of us have homes, not all of us have jobs, not all of us can feed ourselves, not all of us can get care... Profit over lives, profit over lives... We call for equality and we call for UBI for every citizan, we call for Army sleeping bags, Army rations packs, and masks to be givin to the homeless. We call for UBI of £1000 per month for every citizan, so we can feed ourselves, end poverty, and raise standerds of living for every citizan, we call for free education.. Convert Navy ships into medical ships. set up Army medical camps all over britain. Send the Air force to get our stranded people back who are stuck in other countries.

There are lies. There are damned lies, and then there are statistics. The statistics are cooked-up, to say the least of it! On number of confirmed coronavirus infections, the figures reflect tests kit numbers not actual infections (and recoveries) which are far higher. This is openly admitted. The deaths are not entirely due to Coronavirus and 99% of those who die were already frail from other health conditions. This too is openly stated. So the proportion of people who die after being infected by the virus is very low. This is openly admitted by the government itself and on March 19th the Covid-19 virus' status was downgraded to "not of great consequence" with the death rate admitted to be low. The emergency is within the NHS, not within the country.
Thus arguably to create mass unemployment, shut down businesses, lock people up in our own homes for weeks at a time is pure lunacy ! It is totally unnecessary and is more harmful than the virus could possibly be.
Our Prime Minister seems to fancy himself as a new Churchill, but I predict that he will not be long in his job...

So, other than noting as many have that it's fucking surreal to see Johnson as anything but a buffoon... seems like that around Christmas there will be an entire new generation of British people born. They shall be known as Coronials, and in 2033 they shall become quaranteens.
