I. Love you
ok
@Sanaey Bato dang I feel bad
If only
And
My favourite part of this song visually is when all the fireworks go off towards the end. It really sums up all of Mirabel’s emotions like she’s putting her heart on her sleeve :o
Sameeee
🎉😢😂
Literal chills when the fireworks start behind her as she says.... Come on I'm ready. Love this song
Hi jelly!
JELLY JESS?!?!
The fun thing is, she actually did move the mountains (they separated when the candle burnt out) and she did make new trees and flowers grow (by helping Isabella not force herself to be perfect) and she healed what was broken (their family).
Bruh
She also showed this family something new
@Adri Nav yeah I think this song was just to foreshadow the rest of the film
Growing flower like magic
what about the weather?
Mirabel's gift is that she can stop time when she wants to vent.
Za warudo but uses pent up emotions as fuel
That's a pretty standard power of most Disney protagonist!
Thats what i thought to
Ngl when I first watched the movie I thought some shit's gonna happen after she finishes the song, like Mirabel would suddenly get a gift. The cracks showing up in the casita was NOT what I expected though
Lol this was my first thought but I realized it's not
01:45 “I would move the mountains, …” = Helping Luisa
01:48 “… make new trees and flowers grow.” = Helping Isabela to become her true self
02:00 “I would heal what’s broken, show this family something new.” = healing Casita, Abuela and Bruno’s broken relationship.
This song was sung in the beginning of the movie, right? Is Mirabel prophetic? She practically told us in the beginning all the healing she’d do in the rest of the movie 🤔
She did tell us to open our eyes
Also, I’m pretty sure “I would move the mountains” refers to her making the mountains that protect the family move, but it could also be that.
@Anubonek It suppose to be symbolism I guess, or another way of seeing it.
"This song was sung in the beginning of the movie"
Me:the first song was "family madrigal"
THATS HER GIFT
Mirabel is one helluva gift in this family. Louisa’s stressed and depressed from trying to be good enough for everyone, Isabella’s always trying to be beautiful and perfect, Tía Pepa’s always trying to stay calm cuz her mood changes the weather and Abuela’s mind is always on the candle and Casita and has unintentionally been hard on everyone. Mirabel healed the entire family by splitting a mountain in half, blooming beautiful exotic flowers instead of roses and saved Casita.
@Annabeth Yeung hhgg
@Annabeth Yeung h
@Karol Dudziński you're so right she didn't even attempt to help Pepa one bit
@🧸InøtJendeuk🌺 I could totally see that he shape-shifts accidentally it totally looks like he could be affected when you look at it that way I'm sure Abuela encouraged it from the get go because the towns reactions
"I'm fine , im totally fine"
"I'm not fine, I'm not fine"
"I cant take another night up in my room, waiting on miracle"
This hit hard.
"Open your eyes (x3)" got me..
For me the line that really hits hard is how sad she sounded with the last line of the song
"Am I too late for a Miracle?"
Like it relates I guess for people like me who feel that we are at an age where the opportunities or miracles are no longer there.
Love this song so much.
As a woman who has miscarried in her late 30s with no rainbow baby, this song screams the feeling at every baby shower, every Facebook pregnancy announcement, every baby milestone pic posted.
@americansongstress I'm so sorry, sending prayers.
@Coco Scream I know and those things come to my mind especially during the most difficult times. At times I feel desperate. At times I make peace and enjoy the present. Other times I am hopeful. I just feel if God did it before, he can do it again. I’m singing from the top of my lungs that I’m waiting on a miracle
@this is my name she is the Momma of 4. She never forgets. Every birthday. Every holiday. I pray for her heart. Love on her as much as you can.
@Katrina Baginske sending love, light, prayers, and so much hope.
Same- but through my late 20s. Currently going through IVF but it's not been super successful, and I'm losing hope. This song always makes me sob, but I sing with it and don't feel so terribly alone. Sending you so much love.
This is my favorite song from Encanto for sure.
It speaks of wanting to “fit in,” not just in a shallow way, but in a desperately earnest way. Mirabel’s ready to work hard, do anything to be of use and value to her family. She loves them so much that petty jealousy is nowhere near enough to express how she feels about the rest of her family, nor is “wanting approval.” She is being left behind while the rest of her family moves forward.
But this is a situation where hard work is not enough, and that’s hard.
Second favorite for me too. I like What Else Can I Do? more.
2nd favorite but it’s actually closer than you might think
Fun fact: The emotion in this song is true, because voice of Mirabel, Stephanie Beatriz was in labor when she sang this, what a badass
That's not disgusting lmao that's the power of us women ❤💪
I wonder if she feel pain of giving birth to a baby while recording for the song.
@Bea Bea you probably thought something different when you read the word labor or badass
@iulyy 😁
@Excalibur Videos Ah, well be more faster i guess.
This one of Disney’s most heartbreaking yet incredible “I Want” songs yet. I teared up when I first watched this sequence in the theater because I’ve felt this same pain and longing that she’s been going through. I actually felt seen, which was really shocking for me because I never related to a song as much as this one. Mirabel is such an amazing, imperfect character.❤️
sameee
Same
Same for me, longing for certain things, especially things that everyone else has attained
the fact that The voice of Mirabel , Stephanie Beatriz was in labor when she sang this song is incredible!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽 She indeed wasn’t fine because labor hurts but she WAS waiting on her miracle . Aww 💚
???
I would name the baby mirabel if it’s a girl or antino because the songs at antinos gift ceremonie
Omg labor hurts 😫 but singing a song while doing it is Amazing
Say what now!? 😲
wow, really I had no idea! This song sounds amazing and her voice is beautiful! Wow, impressive...
I'm just realizing this....Maribel says she's fine at the beginning of this song. Luisa says she's fine before singing her song. Isabella and Dolores say they're fine in the middle of We Don't Talk About Bruno. Essentially, everyone keeps trying to convince themselves that they are fine when they are clearly not. I guess Maribel being the first to accept that she isn't fine is what started this chain reaction that allowed other's to finally confess their true feelings. It was a broken home but everyone ignored it as they had an image to maintain due to their respective gifts. And I knew this before, but sometimes a home has to be broken and everything behind the walls have to be revealed before you can truly repair a family or home. It can't just keep being maintained by glue, it needed a new foundation.
Ah yes her secret evil twin, M A R I B E L
maribel 😍
they said that
Luisa also says she's fine before her song
AH YES
MaRiBeL
"I can't move the mountains.
But I can stop the time only when singing."
@xxlazykittenxx you are right
No it's her imagination
This, they say she doesn't have a gift, but we see at the end of this song that she does actually move in space while singing. Then again, characters only sign when she's around.
So it's the same type of gift as Star Platinum?
Come to think of it, this reminds me of the “Flow Realm” from Disney - Soul.
not going to lie, she handled this way better than i would have
Encanto is amazing I love it but it still sad why they forget Mirabel
Fun fact- This song is actually written in a totally different beat than the other songs of the movie to show how Mirabel is an outsider in her own family, not singing in the same tempo
@Yeoji,The Herrscher of Flame🧡🔥 as well as her part, the last part, in the first song about the family
I am Mirabel.
That's pretty awesome.
ye olppppppppppppq i hope
I know it doesn't mean much, coming from a random youtube comment. But whoever was in charge of wrangling the character's hair and skirts especially... Know that your hard work is appreciated. That must have been a genuinely soul crushing amount of time and effort put into just making sure every bit of fabric moved correctly, realistically. making sure every strand of hair didn't clip into the model. Your hard work went a long way in making the character's movements feel real. I don't claim to be an expert, but there's a care to each movement, the follow through, the wind up. that feels like it was more than just a simulation. So, thank you
Yes!! I was lucky enough to go to an exhibit about making Pixar movies at my local science museum a few years ago, and there were all these recorded interviews with these wonderfully nerdy people who did exactly that sort of job, like, wrangling textures and coding for naturalistic-looking hair and fur... They are so passionate about their work and it really shows.
This is the song that should have been put up for Oscar consideration as it encapsulates the theme of the movie.
No
I've watched this movie more than 10 times now, but the part where Mirabel says "I'm not fine" multiple times, it always makes me emotional for some reason.
Maybe it's because she honestly sounds as if she's trying to hold in her anguish in that part. I haven't heard many songs that actually make you believe the singer is as emotional as the character; but Stephanie Beatriz was having contractions while recording this song, so she probably WAS in actual physical pain. In any case it makes the lyrics hit that much harder
The fact that Stephanie Beatriz after singing 'Waiting on a Miracle' actually got a miracle i.e. she gave birth to her daughter Rosaline the next day- this makes the song even more beautiful.
She was in labor singing this
As soon as she said "I'm not fine" I almost busted out in tears. This whole movie is an emotional rollercoaster ride. Especially when you have a big family like this.
Validating that little girl's statement..."If I was you, I'd be REALLY SAD." 😢🥺🥴😔
Me too
Me too
@Lilacꨄ Emotions exist? I always thought people just faked emotions, omg :OOOOOO
But seriously, how is expressing emotions dramatic what is up with the people in the replies lmao-
@Kwaniki Have to be completely honest, I don't get why people are calling you dramatic for crying? Like, is expressing your emotions making you dramatic? No, it isn't. Emotions are uncontrollable, if you need to cry, then you cry. Crying doesn't make you "dramatic". This movie made me cry too because of how it made me feel.
The fact that Stephanie was in active labor with her daughter while recording makes this song that much more special 🥺🥺🥺❤❤❤❤
@Susan ZMI yes it does.
No it's diesnt
@marco mejia _Lmao_ 😂😂
She really was waiting on a miracle
Really
I was the black sheep of my family, and once found a photo of them taken without me too. This scene hit absolutely hard and made me empathize with Mirabel a lot
The theme song of my life
"I'm fine."
"I'm not fine."
"Open your eyes."
I can relate to this so much. It seems to have become a trend to ignore the protagonist and focus on the side characters, but Mirabel is so well-developed. Of course, I love Luisa as well, but Mirabel deserves more attention.
@why are you twerking? Isabela was born to be perfect, and her gift is nature, meaning she can grow and control plants. She's been like this for years, and Mirabel keeps annoying her. One day though, when her fianceé appeared, she snapped. This caused a cactus to grow, and Isa was amazed. She and Mira became best friends during her song, What Else Can I Do, and Isa showed her true tomboy self.
@TinyStorm MiniMuka Isa is a real badass but i like mira more
@TinyStorm MiniMuka yes
@RaeSans911 should I explain Isa?
@TinyStorm MiniMuka What do you mean?
The way she says "I'm not fine" she sounded like she was gonna burst into tears which hurts me. Like Mirabel is the first ever Disney protagonist I relate to in a LONG time. She just wants to make her family proud even tho she doesn't have a gift and just want their approval and she tries so hard. I adore her so much and this song is so criminally underrated cause this song many people can relate to and its so beautiful.
When she says "Am I too late for a miracle?" I want to hug her
I might burst into tears everytime I see that part
Same plus this is my second favorite song in Encanto.
I can't move the mountains
well she was in labour so she felt like she was gonna cry LMAO
2:00 I just noticed that everyone is in the same positions here as they are in the end when they sing All of You and finally give Mirabel the recognition she deserves
Don't be upset or mad at all
Don't feel regret or sad at all Hey, I'm still a part of the family Madrigal
And I'm fine, I am totally fine I will stand on the side as you shine
I'm not fine, I'm not fine I can't move the mountains I can't make the flowers bloom
I can't take another night up in my room Waiting on a miracle
I can't heal what's broken Can't control the morning rain or a hurricane
Can't keep down the unspoken invisible pain Always waiting on a miracle, a miracle
Always walking alone Always wanting for more
Like I'm still at that door longing to shine Like all of you shine
All I need is a change All I need is a chance
All I know is I can't stay on the side Open your eyes, open your eyes, open your eyes
I would move the mountains Make new trees and flowers grow
Someone please just let me know, where do I go? I am waiting on a miracle, a miracle
I would heal what's broken Show this family something new
Who I am inside, so what can I do? I'm sick of waiting on a miracle, so here I go
I am ready, come on, I'm ready I've been patient, and steadfast, and steady Bless me now as you blessed us all those years ago When you gave us a miracle Am I too late for a miracle?
The visuals in this are just astounding. This is the best work Disney has ever done.
This song is underrated. This song at first hearing, gave me goosebumps. I relate to this song which adds to the feels.
"I'm fine, I am totally fine"
"I'm not fine, I'm not fine"
I felt that in my soul
Me rn
1000000 likes this comment!
I relate to that line..
It makes you want to just cry for that poor girl
@Alusa Mailman rip to your grandfather 🙏🏻💖
This song actually made me wish I could see a villainess version of Mirabel.
Ayo i ain't the only one!!
The candle has butterflies on, so does Mirabel's dress, so I think she should be the next candle holder
The candle's gone now though.
Yeah this is why Mirabel didn’t get a gift
Mirabels gift is a wonderful singing voice-
bro, the sisters have the BEST voices. especially Lui and Mira
Tysm for the likes I've never got that many!
"I would move the mountains"
"Make new trees and flowers grow"
"I would heal what's broken
She would help Luisa, -The strong one- The person with so much pressure
Help Isabela, -The "perfectionist"- A girl forced being perfect her entire life
Get closer to her mother, -The healer- The kind woman always helping her
@TinyStorm MiniMuka Thank you 😊
*claps* MAJOR RESPECT
The fact that the family forgets about Mirabel's existence once Antonio's miracle comes always broke my heart.
@sticky gum I wanna be left out I’m an introvert
@Directioner4Life2010 Well yeah, but they didn't mistreat her either.
@Furienna well we never saw Camilo and mirabel interacting, and we hardly saw any between pepa and felix
@LuvxHazelxAwh HELP????
@Directioner4Life2010 Well, I don't remember that Dolores or Camilo did anything bad towards Mirabel either.
Pepa and Felix seemed to be neutral towards her.
My favorite part is when mirabel said “all I know is I can’t stay on the side open your eyes open your eyes open your eyes”
When she said "I'm not fine, I'm not fine"
That hit hard....

2:16 i absolutely LOVE this part starting from "come on, i am ready", it is such beautiful animation how with the stressed syllables of her singing, fireworks erupt each time. it never fails to make me tear up because it's as if the universe is responding to her and saying it hears her, but she doesn't really notice that with each stressed syllable fireworks go off. it's as if she has the power to create those fireworks as she gets more passionate and loud, even though she doesn't. her arm movements too align perfectly with the fireworks and it's just so pretty to watch. it was just a brilliant idea. i also love from a musical perspective how she gets louder and louder until the climax of "when you gave us a miracle!" and there are all bright colors and a lot of movement but after that climax she becomes quiet with her ending rhetorical question and she is left alone in the dark. both physically alone, and also emotionally and mentally, which is how she feels. ugh, there is just so much to unpack here and i truly wish this song got more recognition. as someone who has never fit in literally anywhere, this song hits so close to home and to have my feelings represented so beautifully is so validating and i will be forever grateful for this song. the next time someone asks me to describe myself in a song, i'm showing them this. i also love how she starts the song with trying to convince herself she's okay because for so many of us that is our immediate coping mechanism, but soon after she voices her feelings that she's "not fine" which is absolutely justified. being the "less talented" sibling and constantly being emotionally abused because of it is honestly truly traumatizing and i am glad her family realized their errors. this movie is truly life-changing and idk how i ever lived without it.
@Victor Marin 1) i wrote a youtube comment, not an essay. i didn't realize i was going to be evaluated. 2) i did use punctuation properly. 3) i was simply writing my thoughts as they came to me, hence the one big paragraph. 4) i wrote the above comment for my own future reference, not for anyone else to read it. you reading it was a personal choice. writing my thoughts was very therapeutic for me; i didn't do so desiring likes or responses. 5) if you didn't like my comment, you simply could have scrolled past; you did not have to take the time to comment and critique me. i don't know what you gained from responding to me. the saying "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" is popular for a reason.
Use paragraphs and punctuation properly to give yourself a chance of having people read through that shit
“Can’t keep down this unspoken invisible pain, always waiting on a miracle” hits too hard
Always walking aloooooone, always wanting for moooooore
Same with the “open your eyes open ur eeeeeeyes “
Stephanie was also in pre-labor while recording this song, so she literally had some invisible pain, and was also waiting on a miracle (her daughter)
FR😭
@Ayeokeyシ i
This song is so profound yet so underrated…
" All I know,is I can't stay on the side open your eyes, open your eyes, open your eyes"!
My favourite line of song.
Mirabel is truly Spanish girl.
And that unhappy fact that she doesn't have her gift give this song powerful!
So, so she sings about that.
May we haven't the magical gift in our life, but we still can show the world our little gifts
For example drawing very well, sing perfect or have a great member and remember all things we definitely must to do.
This is our gifts and maybe this movie going to show us what if we are children" We are really gift kid's".
Or if we are an adult people we mustn't to lose our ways what we planned we will do.
If I want to be a singer, so let it be!
If you planned to be somebody in your childhood don't lose your dreams!
Encanto- powerful and colarid movie!
🇺🇦💙💛💙💛💓
2:15 "I am ready. Come on, I'm ready. I've been patient and steadfast and steady. Bless me now as you've blessed us all those years ago when you gave us a miracle. Am I too late for a miracle?"
In Christianity, everyone has a God-given gift to enrich the kingdom. My entire family is obnoxiously talented in music-- except me. I'd practice harder than any of my siblings but I was still never good enough to perform with my family. Every time I'd see them perform together without me, a small part of me died. At one point I begged God to tell me what my gift was so that I can be useful for once, so this part of the song hit home.
@anonomyss I'm so happy you shared all that, I was so hoping you would reply lol. I was checking in case TheXvid failed to notify me lmao. Before I write a long comment back, I just want to mention that I have my email address on the about section of my channel, and I would be completely happy to continue this conversation through email or social. But if you don't want to do that sort of thing, I totally get that too, so no worries. Just let me know, because I have more to say lol, whether here or elsewhere.
@Seele aus Stahl I was actually already answered many years ago when I was in college, though it really wasn't the answer I was looking for. This was after a family stage performance at church so I was particularly bitter that day, similar to how Mirabel felt when everyone was taking the family photo without her.
I went home earlier than everyone else because I didn't feel like partying with them. I locked myself in the bathroom, and kept yelling at God to tell me what the hell my gift was. Over and over, Encanto-style.
I looked in the mirror and told myself that I was nothing but an easily forgettable side character who never gets a story.
But I eventually cooled down after an hour so I went to the kitchen to make food (kind of anti-climactic), and just scrolled through TheXvid searches on my phone to see if anyone went through something similar. Maybe they'd have advice?
I typed in all sorts of stuff because nothing was making me feel better, but one lyric video kept catching my eye even though I was PRETTY SURE it had nothing to do with what I was looking for. Only one word caught it in my search algorithm: mistake. I clicked on it because I kept passing it.
The song was He Knows My Name by Francesca Battistelli. It described everything I'd gone through in the last hour.
It started: "Spent today in a conversation in the mirror, face to face with somebody less than perfect. I wouldn't choose me first if I was looking for a champion. In fact I'd understand if you picked everyone before me."
Interesting, a bit too accurate right now.
Then the chorus went: "I don't need my name in lights. I'm famous in my father's eyes. Make no mistake, He knows my name. I'm not living for applause, I'm already so adored. It's all His stage. He knows my name."
As it turns out, what I needed was humility, not some super-power that would suddenly give me the recognition and belonging that I'd so desperately craved.
Coincidentally enough, I was also majoring in the most boring thing imaginable for job security so that I can take care of my family since we'd grown up poor, so I totally get the weight of responsibility on your shoulder at such a young age. I just hated that I was becoming nothing but a cash machine while everyone else got to be up on stage. I've come to terms with it now though. God sees me, and I'm happy enough just knowing that I'm keeping my family afloat because sadly music doesn't make much money.
Thanks for asking about how I'm doing now. It's nice to share 😊
This song reminds me of a late night I went outside under the stars and begged God to answer me, show that he was listening, because I felt so alone. I was 16, and making sacrifices to try to take care of my family relationships, but my faith that I would ever be happy was wearing out. So the part you quoted about having been patient and steadfast and steady really resonated with that memory too. I appreciate your story, though I'd be interested in knowing how you are now. I'm not as good as I'd like to be at music either, but just know (if you don't, or if you need a reminder) that there are so many ways to be useful and talented, whether it's in a way that's popularly recognized or not.
I think mirbel dose have a power.the power of making the best songs I have ever heard
She says “I can’t heal what’s broken” but she spends the whole movie trying anyway and she is able to heal the most broken things in her world. And that’s on growth 🐛🦋
@Alvitr is my waifu these are quotes
@The Big Game trueee jollibee is better than mcdonalds
@The Big Game having some existencial crisis huh?
@Sarah Van Donsel okay
Shokuplant 27 don’t bring him back
This song is so beautiful
Yes!
*I loved this movie so much I made my prescription glasses look like Mirabels, same age, same style, same drive, creative, I relate so much, Bruh i literally kin this character. :) Child Mirabel literally looks like me when I was a kid (even though im not latina) This movie feels like it fits me so perfectly- glad to have this as a part of y childhood memories. I've created so much based off of this, hope to make art like this one day. :)*
idk why ppl don't like this song its beautiful and its my second fav
@TinyStorm MiniMuka oh that's so cool 😂
@Asteroid AYO ON OUR CAMPING TRIP EVERYONE SANG THAT ON THE BE
US
@TinyStorm MiniMuka we don't talk about Bruno 😂
first fav?
Mirabel's gift is to change scenarios whenever anyone sings with her being present
Lmao fr
this is just sad but Mirabel is such a great main character. she's been so strong all those years, and trying so hard to earn her family's approval. i wanna give her a hug in this musical number.
@C.H.A.D dude nobody on the fucking planet thinks that Mirabel is real, they mean that the writing is so amazing that they bring the emotions out of the audience even though it is fiction.
I WANNA GIVE MIRABLE A BIG HUG SAME
@Lilaplayzroblox no-
@Yeoji,The Herrscher of Flame🧡🔥 lol
She wanted her grandmother to believe in her so much but she is discouraged by scares and putting her fate of the family in a magical candle. That part when she said open your eyes to her grandmother was just heartbreaking. Look man, I am a 27 year old male and this song is definitely touching me to my soul 😂🙈
Bro this is sadddddd!!!
When Mirabel told Abuela open your eyes it was amazing
I would have never been able to hold my pain back but this girl has skills!🤣😁😘🤩
"I will stand on the side as you shine"
*1 minute later*
"All I know is I can't stay on the side..."
XD FR
The last line where she shouts “when you gave us a miracle” gives me chills every time. Amazing job To all the people who helped create this masterpiece!
@Fernando Molina yes I just also wanted to include stephanie and Disney and the animators. Just to make it more inclusive but yeah I thank you.
@Lover Gurl! thank you I didn’t notice that.
@Lover Gurl! “When you gave us a miracle”
*gave
I love that it sounds like Mirabel and Madrigal too
The best song from Encanto. Love it so much, and when she says "open your eyes!" I can cry...
@Ava Louise no they mean encanto can you read?
don't you mean INCHANTO not Encanto
i would never cry because i hate inchanty
This song is so meaningful… feeling unwanted or unimportant to ur family but still being a part of it. It’s like being left out of your own life
Agreed.... *sighs sadly*
most underrated song of the movie and it’s literally the best one
This song hits hard
Actually, allt of the songs about personnel feelings hit hard
What I really love about Mirabel is how much she really stands out compared to past Disney female leads she really feels like a real person nothing about her character feels forced or fake because she genuinely is going with the narrative of a unstable family in a realistic and humanized way. I love how Encanto’s writing at all did not have much tropes or bias written in and how they really touched on their characters in a mature and respected manner for representing trauma and Mirabel overall was beautifully well done
@Mona Bohamad2 Your comment is pretty immature and invalidating to me, you see I am not the only one who has a problem with Snow White well in general cause those kinds of movies were made around the time when women were pushed and seen to just be "weak" to society and it is pretty dehumanizing when women in entertained media are written with these gender roles. I can honestly see what you are trying to say is that we should not care about stereotypes and you have a point on that but at the same time it also pretty subjective in terms of the narrative you want to go for in what story is being portrayed and speaking on Snow White and Frozen both were messy on that narrative
@BrianBrian yep and it is a internal monologue cause it is apart of a musical and one of the golden rules of musicals is when things get too emotional that you are at a loss for words you sing instead to express it out, just a FunFact
i 100% agree
This song just honestly feels like an internal dialogue people have with themselves, and that's why I like it. It's realistic.
This song should be the number 1 listened song it's so beautiful
I love this song!! waiting on a miracle!!
This song is sooo underrated. The part where she’s begging the sky for a gift triggers me 😭 💀
"Someone please just let me know 'Where do I go'?" This was the part that really got to me 😭
it's so sad that they didn't include mirabel in the family picture, like she's still a madrigal, gift or not..
Ya
She is included in the bottom right corner where no one can see her
@ParrotMaster878 MC Gaming Well, I don’t think they forgot her. Abuela announced everyone to come together for the photo, which all except Mirabel did, so basically Mirabel had a choice and she simply didn’t get in, probably cause she felt like she didn’t deserve to get in and the thoughts of her gift ceremony and such were rushing through her head.
@Joe'l Combs Mirabel should still be in the picture though
I love this song.. it’s very relatable this is definitely underrated
I love this song.
I love when Mirabel talks being the only Madrigal without a magical gift and asks for a miracle (wanting to have a magical gift just like the rest of her her family so she wouldn't feel left out). It sounds like she's singing the song like a prayer.
FRRRRT
This song is Amazing! 🤩 🤩
The voice actor did an outstanding job with the main character. Also, shoutout to the amazing song writer. I hope to see more from him in the future. Love the movie and music 👍🏼👍🏼
This literally the main character’s most iconic solo song. Like Elsa’s “Let It Go” or Moana’s “How Far I Go”, it speaks Mirabel’s heart who’s wanting to find its purpose. This deserves more recognition!
@lumibedo ikr, this song gives me chills every single time unlike the other songs in the whole movie
@Ophélia Bell stop comparing.. both Elsa and Mirabel are unique and powerful.
@Ophélia Bell me when I lie
It’s called an “I want song”
@Ophélia Bell 🤨?
This song speaks to my soul
Love this song I listened to this 1 million times
I love this song so much 10+ out of 10
I love this sound cause it show mirabel's feeling
who would've thought that Mirabel, THE MAIN CHARACTER, would be so underrated by the fandom. everyone loves Camilo, Isabella, etc. but always forget she's such a perfectly built and relatable character. Mirabel is such a queen, I love her, she deserves so much more.
@Juho Kuusela Wow, who had the nerve to call Mirabel that?
@Deekshitha Thammineni Firstly, it is not like any of the Madrigals "deserved" a gift.
But still, all of them except for Mirabel were granted a gift because the miracle decided that they should have them.
Also, it is hardly a mistake that one of the kids didn't get a gift.
It is probably that once you get a gift, that will put a lot of responsibility on you even if you should take it easier than Abuela thought that they had to do.
Thus, they need a family member who's not burdened by having a gift of their own to run things in the future.
Mirabel would be that person and the future leader and would have an important role of her own to fill according to this theory.
But unfortunately, nobody seemed to get this from after her ceremony seemed to be just a failure until ten years later.
The problem is thus not that Mirabel didn't get a gift, but that nobody understood what it meant...
@Deekshitha Thammineni she sure does. I hate it when people call her mary sue
Mirabel deserves a gift
I can feel this song..... I totally relate to it
There's something about the animation and colors in this scene that makes it so beautiful and mesmerizing.
Encanto is the best movie in the whole entire world I love the movie
I love this song 😍
And sad
This song is ignored just like Mirabel’s family ignores her 😭 it’s such a good song! It deserves more hype
stop telling me how popular the song is now when i wrote this when it had less views
Yeah
@Fwoggo standing by 🇺🇦 Yes they do, you just haven’t paid attention to the scenes where the family ignores her, excludes her, shuns her and emotionally abuse her just because she didn’t have a gift unlike Bruno, Antonio, Luisa and her parents.
Abuela - This is obvious how Abuela shunned Mirabel for not having a gift, saying she “should” step aside and blaming her for the family’s conflict while it was her unhealthy perfectionism and the expectations that put on the family was the reason, she can’t even take responsibility.
Felix and Pepa - There’s no any arguments between Mirabel and Felix aside from Felix making an angry expression towards Mirabel during the breakfast scene, Pepa was way worse because she didn’t wanna tell Mirabel about Bruno nor the vision and she also got angry at Mirabel for taking her seat like “IT’S JUST A SEAT! CALM DOWN KAREN”.
Dolores - Mirabel’s relationship with Dolores is good but Dolores betrayed her own cousin and told her family by saying this quote during Isabela’s engagement/proposal “Mirabel saw Bruno’s vision, she’s gonna destroy the magic and we are all doomed!” She 100% knew what she was doing when she said that quote, there was no remorse nd she had the gall to accuse Mirabel of “intentionally” destroying the magic.
Isabela - Isabela looks down on Mirabel by thinking she’s “better” than Mirabel while her attitude is more nasty than the stunk’s butt rug that Nick Wilde used in Zootopia, she accused Mirabel of “ruining” her life and saying she “mess” things up while she didn’t even care if Mirabel was shunned for not having a gift.
*If Isabela was my sister I would cry everyday in my life because Gosh I can’t stand that woman*
Camilo - He’s my fav along with Antonio but there are some sequences that encapsulates how Camilo shuns Mirabel, let me interpret how he does it, when Mirabel asks him what was happening with the magic, he says “Worth A Shot” glaring his eyes towards her with that angry expression like he can’t forgive Mirabel for ruining Antonio’s night, he also portrayed Bruno as a villain during the “We Don’t Talk About Bruno”. He also didn’t care about Mirabel after the Casita fall apart by only caring for Antonio and his safety, I get why he cares for Antonio but MIRABEL DESERVES MORE COMFORT TOO.
Even if this was populat, actually if this song was compared with the other song like all of you of we don't talk about bruno then yeah, I think still less popular
Forget about how this can we acknowledge else can we do and all of you? Like nobody talks about these 2 less then waiting on a miracle
Still don't understand why her family was so mean to her. They even didn't invite her to this FAMILY photo. Even her parents!
when i first watched this song i might be seeing things but:
1:46 those mountains look very similar to the ones in frozen 2's "into the unknown"
1:53 also this part was similar to the moment in frozen 1 when Elsa is building her ice castle in "let it go"
I know disney loveesss a good cameo of other films in each following film so its possible. plus all these songs have something in common: they all are about individuality and looking for something inside yourself.
Lin-Manuel wanted Frozen and Encanto to be in the same universe, that's most likely why
Mirabel: OPEN YOUR EYES~
Abuela: DOES IT LOOK LIKE IT'S CLOSE?!
Just putting aside the spectacle beauty of this song, the perpetual melancholic vibes, and nostalgic vibes the instrumentation gives off in conjunction with the vocals is astounding. Like, I'm floored everytime I watch this, and heartbroken -the depth and beauty of wanting to just *belong* is so incredibly strong that it breaks me every time.
Watching Mirabel just surrounded by light and shining orbs and wishing to shine just as bright as everyone around her- but not wanting to take away their own shine- is stunning; and the climax of Mirabel dancing under so many bursting colorful fireworks, *praying* for her own miracle and place among her *own* family; is something I don't think I'll ever forget about this movie.
I think Mirabel is my favorite Disney character ever.
“I can’t move the mountains,” to “I would move the mountains” just shows how much she loves and cares for her family
She ends up doing all the things that she said she wanted to do in the song actually.
@Amity it kinda shows how much she would do for her family, like she would move the mountains for her family. Kinda showing how much she loves her family if she had a gift that could help them but she doesn’t
@Amity love the name and pfp
im sorry how does that affect her love for her family
This is about everyone.... everyone is is looking for one chance . everyone is hoping for a miracle ❤️
Just saw this movie first time tonight and this is my favorite song…. “Can't keep down the unspoken invisible pain, Always waiting on a miracle, a miracle”
Her voice is so amazing
1:44 Love this part ❤️
“Those are the songs that you sing to yourself in the mirror because you, as a kid, don't exactly know what to do with all the feelings and thoughts. And somehow this song has given you a gateway into trying to figure out who you are in the world and what you want, where you belong.” - Stephanie Beatriz on recording “Waiting on a Miracle”
I feel tears welling up. she's fricking right
@Destiny Consonery Antonio is the youngest
@Mirella Darrouj no Isabela is 21-22 and Luisa is 19 and Mirabel is 15
@Dinetta Jones In my family there are only two children and as the younger sibling I feel like this is my song.
Thank God for this song this is my life right now on Easter Sunday... 🙏 relate to Mirabel so much rn
@margii God bless you too my friend 💜 hope you have a good one!!
heyy bless u
From 'I am ready' to the end is the best part. That second to last time she says miracle is a note!
Don't be upset or mad at all
Don't feel regret or sad at all
Hey, I'm still a part of the family Madrigal
And I'm fine, I am totally fine
I will stand on the side as you shine
I'm not fine, I'm not fine
I can't move the mountains
I can't make the flowers bloom
I can't take another night up in my room
Waiting on a miracle
I can't heal what's broken
Can't control the morning rain or a hurricane
Can't keep down the unspoken invisible pain
Always waiting on a miracle, a miracle
Always walking alone
Always wanting for more
Like I'm still at that door longing to shine
Like all of you shine
All I need is a change
All I need is a chance
All I know is I can't stay on the side
Open your eyes, open your eyes, open your eyes
I would move the mountains
Make new trees and flowers grow
Someone please just let me know, where do I go?
I am waiting on a miracle, a miracle
I would heal what's broken
Show this family something new
Who I am inside, so what can I do?
I'm sick of waiting on a miracle, so here I go
I am ready, come on, I'm ready
I've been patient, and steadfast, and steady
Bless me now as you blessed us all those years ago
When you gave us a miracle
Am I too late for a miracle?
My favorite song in the movie, no contest
It's so sad that this song is underrated compared to the other ones, this has such a beautiful message and I wish it would be in the spotlight like every other songs from the movie
The second time I watched this I didn’t even remember it, but not it’s my favorite
Factssssss
exactly!!!its my fave
You are right
I think it is very funny that this song isn’t given the spotlight, considering that it is about never being in the spotlight.
“I will stand on the side as you shine”
No that one hurt so much I felt like I was gutted like a fish 😭
the way the fireworks explode on beat is literal perfection. so pleasing to watch
I can't believe it's actually been months since this song was released! I remember trying not to cry in this song because it's relatable.
