Oh the delight in finding three quarters of the way through the video that lee Mack is on the sofa!

I live in the states and had no idea that auto-driving Teslas were beyond the testing phase and actually being used on public roads! Can't say I'm exactly thrilled on the idea!

    • Isaac Flett

I believe they're currently only used on highways but they have sensors that require the driver to keep their hands on the wheel so I wouldn't worry too much.

I'm going for "Never happened" on both of these anecdotes.

Awkward moment at the end as Lee Mack provides an alternative prank option for ordinary folk who can't afford a Tesla.

I thought Lee Mack was trying to act like he had stroke when he closed his left eye and tilted his head... That'll scare the hell out of the passenger for sure.

Here’s the other gag for a sleeping passenger (only works at night): pull into a mall parking lot and find a place where you can pull up to a brick or concrete block wall. Turn off the headlights and pull up within a few feet of the wall. Put the car in park. Then, all at once, turn on the headlights, lean on the horn, and scream. Better if there are a few other accomplices in the car. Waving your arms around helps. Your victim wakes up to a view of the “oncoming “ brick wall. Priceless. They will never sleep in the car again.
A friend used to do the one eye closed thing on his kids. He’d be driving them somewhere and claim to be extremely sleepy. He’d “nod off” and drive them in a slightly swervy way with them yelling at him to wake up. Then he’d “wake up” and say “Oh, we’re here already.”

  • Are we not entertained?

Ha ha ha har harrr f'ing haaarh. Not funny.

Stephen, please don't rely on auto-drive. The world can't run the risk of losing you.

Teslas are not fully autonomous yet. If you think they are, you’re more likely to be in a crash.

  • Paddy O'Yakkin
    Paddy O'Yakkin 3 months ago +4

I have been in a tesla when I had this happen to me as a passenger. Not only did the "driver" almost run a red light, but it almost rear ended the motorbike stopped there.... luckily the actual driver took over and stopped the vehicle. Autonomous, yes. Safe, no.

    • Paddy O'Yakkin

Though leading up to this I was quite impressed over how it corners autonomously.

      MassExtinctionEvent 3 months ago +1

He definitely says Charlie. Charlie and Johnny only have the same [ah] vowel sound in American English, in British English pronunciation Johnny is pronounced with [oh] as in 'chore', so if Fry had said Johnny, it would've sounded clearly different.

@Eter Puralis But the BBC wouldn't hesitate to put a disclaimer out warning against the use of Cannabis for example (Which they have done). Even though the world knows it is harmless, they still warned against it with their propaganda. The BBC put disclaimers out about everything.

Andrew Scott was brilliant as Moriarty

    • Creeno1
      Creeno1 3 months ago

Absolutely agree! While Cumberbatch and Freeman were absolutely sublime in their performances, I feel that Scott was underrated for his performance. Btw, kudos to the writers for making Moriarty a young (ish) lad with a frightening intellect used for pure unadulterated evil. God, I loved him in that role. And hated him at the same time.
