  • 3.5 million children are growing up in poverty in the UK. It’s one of the worst rates in the industrialised world and successive governments continue to struggle to bring it into line. Struggling & without a voice, 'Poor Kids' shines a light on this pressing issue.

Maybe if they stop the invasion from all the Countries where the people want a better life they could do a better job of getting there people out of poverty. British people do without while all the Immigrants get all social programs and take there jobs. boy this sounds just like the USA. Get your Liberals out of Office and maybe you can make progress!!!!

The house where those three girls live is dirty. I saw mom having her nails done when she put a cream on the girl. When they were playing the floor was full of dust and trash. Poor girls. I think that Mum is lazy, and regardless of being a poor house can be clean. Fridge is full of fungi, and she could wash it.

I wouldn't say I'm poor but the house we are renting has constant leaks, looks gross and has problems that need to be fixed all of the time.
Other than that I'm just embarrassed having friends over because I don't like being that one friend.. it's kinda sad but other than that I'm happy with what I have and thankful for everything my parents do.

Children that talk like adults...poverty can be hard but they are so clued up about the way the system works and how this world is so wrong. They also play like we used to back in the 1970's not a internet or game devise in sight...Bless em.

My six-year-old sister has Eczema and watching that poor girl suffer, while her Mother struggles to buy any treatment is devastating. It's such a horrible thing to experience and the idea of a child experiencing such pain is awful. It just adds to the horror of it all.

Oh the life. I remember this so well.. especially having to pay a quid to watch 6 hours of TV... I lived in poverty too and it brought me up to realise how life can be so cruel yet always be grateful for what you have. Jam sandwiches.. for dinner.. beans on toast. Waiting for Monday to come around so you can have a school dinner.

One day or another you will pay for your atrocities ; the British will suffer what they did to the poor people in their colonies 100 years ago. Read history and you will find about the British inhuman behavior back then . Where is the British Empire ??? they should have invested in their people rather than make all the colonies suffer their atrocities.

If a country has a poverty class or an unemployment rate there is a zero need for accepting low skilled or no skilled shithole migrants that offer nothing and burden the society. Why should these families live in squalor while mohammad and his 5 wives and 27 kids live better on the same government handout yet neither them or their ancestors contributed a single thing to the system or society as a whole.

Is this what UK considers poor? This is how 'normal' people live in South Africa including 80% of my friends. I may be a millionare now but I grew up with much less money, I was always happy. When I lived in Witbank the bath and drinking water was brown and infected with rat-tailed maggots and the air is brown, and is getting worse. These kids make playing outside seem safe, they didn't even get raped or bit by a snake.

Someone should be teaching those kids how to plant gardens and hanging strawberries out of pots in their back yards. I mean seriously, I'm growing potatoes in a bucket right now. Then they could save that food money for other things. It is sad.

What a lovely bunch of children, and so sensible and mature too.
This program is about the children of course, but I hope the parents’ intervention is quite a bit more than what we saw on here - And the dad most certainly needs to learn that he IS the dad, and he should look after all of his children, not expect the youngsters to look after their siblings.. It’s a shame the children have to think about money like this, and know the difference between rich and poor at their young ages, but austerity is so bad, so many millions of people in Britain are so broke with no chance of paying debts back. The children hear it and feel it from their parents because the worry is there all the time.
The only ugly part was Theresa May. She who is the main person to blame for the disgusting shocking state of those flats, with gruesome bad-bacteria damp, and the ceiling falling through!! That’s almost inhumane, her letting that happen continuously, because there’s so much of it in council houses, and she blast billions of pounds buying the DUP when Parliament when there was a hung parliament, and that ridiculous HS2 that will help less than 1% of British people, etc. That woman is full of hate and selfishness, thank heavens she is gone, I hope Boris will do opposite to everything she’s done.
    Great video!

I feel sorry for these children. Poverty is terrible, but I think something more terrible (and unnecessary) is living in filth. They could very well keep trash up off the floor...it doesn't cost money to do this. And what's with the HUGE monster of a DOG that lives in that house?? If they can feed a dog that size, but not their kids, there is a major priority problem here.

And then they wonder why kids get into criminality at a young age, seeing the dealers showing off their money. legalize everything, put the profit of it into rehab for addicts, and help those at the bottom of society. But that won't happen, too much people make money because it's all illegal. Don't get me wrong, it shouldn't be available in the supermarkets, but a kind of dr between a normal one and specialized in addictions. That way you get the money out of the hands of the criminals, and reduce the nr of overdoses/poisoning/ripping etc... But too much people are still indoctrinated by the war on drugs, while they sip their whiskey and smoke their cigar, a valium to sleep and some amfetamine to get through the day, that are the ones that call people who have a spliff an addict. It's all just backwards these days. And the more divisions (race, money, status etc...) the more the rich are laughing. People unite, don't divide. We are all 1, cheesy oneliner but absolutely true. treat others how you would like to be treated.
