    Ooh... I really like that suggestion to include characters you've met along the way on the title screen. It gives me an idea to have the screen change from the first started game, to the first save, and then on, each with the characters included. Probably in some art I'll need to come up with on my own. Agh, so much work with so little time in a day, haha.

    One idea I had is to have the latest save file's save location appear as the title background. If that specific save file loads up, it immediately jump into the game. Pretty neat, eh?
    On a side note, do you think you could make a video about how the basics of making good and interesting battles? Love your work btw!

    Maybe you could make one where you explain how to make "chatter"events where you see a small picture at the bottom of the screen telling to press some button and then you get to see a little event where your actors are talking like the "Skit" feature in the tales of games?

    I'd like to see a full syncsave plugin tutorial. Specifically one where player collects X amount of collectables as on new game player starts with X amount of collectables.

    Oh, also, when I use this plugin, any time I press an action button (like Z) before my title screen appears, music changes and a shadow is casted and I can move it around. Also, pressing the cancel button (like X) brings up the pause menu during the splash/pre-title screen too. YEP's RegionRestriction plugin isn't working for me.
    EDIT: Fixed that issue. I had my splash screen set to run in Parallel. Changing that to Autorun fixed it.

    Just a minor critique - you go so damn fast on screen and skip through a ton of settings on almost every video. That said - thanks for making these.

    A problem I noticed is that when you try to exit the game from the menu that pops up, it ends up just taking you to the title menu. This would be fine if the tutorial just showed how to make a cutscene that plays before you get dropped off on the title menu, but you didn't tell us how to do that, so I think now we're just stuck
    Please help.

    I used this plugin so that it goes to a map with all the splash screens, along with animation to make a title page on the same map. I set up the choices, one of them being to start game which would transfer the player to another map. However, when I clicked on it to test, the title picture, along with the title name picture and other effects on the first map transfer along with it and the player does not appear anywhere on the new map. Is there any way that I can make the first map behave like the default title screen where, once you hit ‘start game’ it will send you to a new map where the character player begins?

    I still have a handful of projects to finish in VX Ace, but I'll favorite and bookmark your video as a reference when I finally purchase MV. It would be great to use this script and have an animated prologue for the title screen.

    So I tried this out and it's cool! The only issue is if I exit the options menu the entire title screen starts over, which I dont want cause then the splash I play using images beforehand shows again instead of just going back to the selection box.

    By default, the MadeWithMV splash screen loads, then you have your title screen. Once you start/continue a game and quit, you end up in the title screen. However, I have been using the Hime_PreTitleEvents to create my custom title screen. In just one screen/map, I have an event which plays 2 "splash pages" then proceeds to the "title screen". Again, all on the same map, just using parallax backgrounds to make it appear that different windows/screens are popping up. So the end result is this: User starts game, MadewithMV splash screen appears and fades out, my custom logo splash screen fades in then out, user is presented with title screen showing the Start Game, Continue, Options, Exit buttons. All of this on one map which I have the plugin replace the default title page and events to manage all mentioned transitions.
    So the problem is that once I press start and either being a new game/continue game and quit, it loops me back to the first MadewitMV splash screen, 2nd custom splash screen, then back to title page. My question is how to cut/prevent the 2 splash screens in the event from playing again unless the user quits the app then restarts it? Is there a way to place some kind of anchor in the event script? The Label and jump label don't do it, and my IF/Else conditional branches can't seem to over ride it as well.

    I would like to have a auto-save (check point) option where players are allow to choose their own save file at the very beginning of the game but then after they cannot save until they reach the check point. Can you show me how? Please.

    Could I ask a question? So, I've made the map my main title screen. And I've added options and the load screen to the title screen. But whenever I mess with the settings and then leave (I press esc) It just restarts back to the beginning of the game (Which is basically where I just was, but with a splash screen). I've tried adding labels to fix this, but it doesn't seem to work.

      My proposed fix for this: don't use the splash screen plugin and instead set up the splash screen in the autorun event on your title map with show picture and wait commands. If you're using images on the title screen to show the "new game," "load game," etc., you can also preload those images while the splash screen is showing with the script call: ImageManager.loadPicture("[filename]")

      What I did is: I added this plugin to the plugin manager multiple times (at least one for splash screen(s) and one for title screen), however, doing it that way, the chosen title screen isn't being recognized as the title screen anymore. :( I need help too.

    My title screen starts off in a room (It's the MC's room that you arrive at pretty early on.) with him sitting at the desk "reading". When you start the game the character bolts to the door and starts the actual adventure. As you do certain tasks more people come into your room and wander.

    That save sync plugin really solved my ALL my problems .I nearly lost my mind trying to figure out a way to make a character say something different if the player encountered him in a different save file.(Blame Undertale for this :P ).Thank you very very very much.     i love your videos echo there awesome but i got a random question me and my buddy are working on a game we must have worked on it for two months but today going to open it i noticed that while we were making the game the story all clashes in certain areas and certain plugins arent working/new ones are out now that would make our lives way easier would it just be easier to restart using our content and clean everything up or go through everything making it work? have you ever just scrapped a game and just restarted from scratch because of something like that before?

    This means save files can affect each other like undertale, but you'll have to have a save point variable and some other crazy things

    for the part on "how to make the scrolling text skipable" how exactly do you do that based on the tip that you gave us in the video? could you expand on that, i'm having trouble understanding it. :(
    like by "try having them on parallel" are you reffering to the same parallel as the picture, or a different one completely?

      Having the event on parallel(instead of autorun) will allow it to be shut down by other events.
      You'd have to have the text as an image(or video) as they're passive, and have that event show/move them.
      Have a separate parallel event that says "If X button is pressed, erase picture x/movie: none(requires a plugin for movies), and turn on switch X/variableX/outerselfswitch(outer selfswitch plugin is boss:P)
      whichever switch/variable you set, have it set on the conditions of the second page of the first event, the one that's showing the pictures.
      Event1 shows pictures
      Event2 click X to skip/erase everything
      Event1-pg2 - isn't showing pictures.

      +ilovecandy0221 Sometimes. Usually, "Core" plugins(ex, Yanfly's CoreEngine, or BattleCoreEngine, or MessageCore) should be placed near the top, and any plugins that require the Core plugins(Yanfly's Action Sequences, MessageExtentions) should be placed after.
      Any misc plugins are usually good wherever.
      It reads it from top to bottom, so if something's conflicting, it can sometimes help to place it at the start/end of the list to try and get it to work.

    I have an odd question, in relation to another video you posted.
    "Falling into the trap of getting better, basically starting over and making a new project whilst losing your old idea,"
    Well...what if you updated from VX Ace to MV?
    What if because of the update you could tell your story better, understand the graphics/character creator better, and you understand events better because of the updates? Is it still losing your idea?
    I'm asking because I've been in a weird situation.
    I wanna finish my VX Ace project...but I know my skills have increased and gotten better.
    Do I continue with MV and use the quick Ace Demo as reference?
    Do I work with both?
    I'm unsure.
    I have a character named Zephyr...I SWEAR TO YOUR GAME'S GODDESS I DIDN'T STEAL HIM FROM YOU!

      I think MV could make everything easier. I had a few placeholders in ACE that during the demo threw some people off.
      I'm gonna get back to turning Zephyr into... *Insert spoiler warning here*

      Think about the benefits and drawbacks to each. If you REALLY want to do it in MV, you should. But if you're perfectly okay with VXa, and there's no real reason to go to MV, I'd stay with vxa.
      It's more of a "when you find something like like, stick to it and trust your own judgement"
      If you think using MV would make significant improvements to what you have, then sure, go for it:P
      If you have the time and drive, the ideal solution would be finish what you have, and start it again later, if that makes sense. Once you finish something, it's a lot easier to stay committed to future ideas.
      And also that's awesome xD

      +Awsome2464 nvm I found a way; I set a conditional branch in the programmed title screen to where if the variable is x amount, it'll transfer the player to the map I want.

    A little idea I had was when you finish the game, You get another title screen as just a little pat on the back.
    Just saying, "Congrats, you finished the game! And all you got was this pointless titlescreen!"

    Wait wait wait... You can create achievements via eventing with cross save switches, and an option to load up a 'view achievements' with some simple events and switches, using them to show pictures... And didn't even acknowledge that!?

    Can you do a tutorial on a dragonball system (they are 7 orbs that when gathered together summons a dragon to grant a wish) the system should have a dragon radar as well please (a radar made to find the dragonballs) is this possible?

    Does this work under MV 1.3.4? It doesn't seem to play nicely with the standard MadewithMV plugin. Also, when ever I get out/cancel out of the options or load game screen, it takes me back to the splash screen.

    Would you be willing Echo to do one with a ton of pictures like the one your brother made for his game? I've seen ways to do it in VX Ace and they were fairly complicated and not seen one for MV yet, unless I'm missing someone and just totally blind. xD

    hey Echo I wanted to ask if you know where I can find a video of how to make an transformation skill, I already have it down on the transforming and powering up part, the problem I am running in to is you see when I use it I give my actor a new sprite as the transformation, and I have no idea how to make it so that the actor turns back to the old sprite once the battle ends. if you you know anything about how I could fix this problem I would very grateful.

      @lightbitcloud​ so... it basically stops at the end of each battle? You'll need a paralel event to change your actor sprite to normal and remove the transformation state. This event must be applied to every map You have though...

    kind of off topic, but do you know how to change the icon of an rpg maker MV game? Because, whenever I try to change it, it doesn't show in the editor, when I develop it, the .exe icon is the default one, but when I run my game, the task bar icons changed, ideas?

      +LavaDragon0010 Another way to do it and I can sa this'll work on while making it is to go in RM's program file in your C drive or where ever you installed it and modify the icon file from there. However the trick to it is I've not tested if it retains the icon upon deployment and run on another machine, seeing as it's the programs system data vs. the game I'd assume it will not keep the changes if made in that manner.

      I think a tactics game I played did that.
      Something like - if any, let's say, 'enlisted' characters that aren't there for plot die in battle, when the battle is finished they are removed from the party?

      If a character other than the lead character dies in combat they are removed from the game completely unless the save is reset or a new game is started

    I am having the "cannot read property "ScreenX" of undefined" bug when I try to goto title.

      I fixed that,
      I made a 35 second intro on my pre title and every time I go on and leave "Options" or "Continue" it seems to reset the pre title which I don't want I want skip pre title on the "Options" or "Continue".
      Is it possible to fix this?

    +Echo607 Hey, I been trying to find if there is a way to transfer my game that I was working on in RPG maker VX, not Ace, to MV. I spent well over 100 hours on it already so if possible would rather not redo it. Do you know if there is a way to do this currently and if so could you point me in the right direction? Or is it better to just start a new game with MV?

    Here is a good one how to make the trance effect from final fantasy 9 in battle I can't find it anywhere on here would you happen to know how to do that or be able to point me in the right direction to best mimic it

    I created that event but anytime i click on load or options then go press esc or the exit button then the entire intro will play...what can i dooo?!

    I'm about to buy the RPG Maker MV but I'm not good at drawing which is a important part, would you still recommend it?

      I use a wacom drawing tablet, though it's not required. I used a mouse for a long time, but it's a pain. I usually draw in Paint Tool Sai and use photoshop for backgrounds and effects.
      Though it's not necessary. If you've already got photoshop, use that:P

      +HowlinWolf TV Definitely:3 Drawing isn't a requirement in the slightest, as there are tons of resources available. And if you wanted to get better at drawing, it might be a good way to push you into try it:P

    omg... i dont even know where to START with all this lmao. Im sure this gets "simpler" as you get used to the features and scripts and all other fuckery... but right now... im overwhelmed. T_T like...you had a video cutscene. i didnt even know you could have that. sigh. and yeah ive only had this program forrrrr *looks at clock* 6 hours

    I'm using rpg maker MZ and the sync save won't work on my project. It Just says StorageManager.load is not a function. Is this just becasue I'm using MZ or is there something I'm doing wrong? Someone pls help me

    I need help desperately!!!! My game ( Break Point ) uses a time system similar to majora's mask but I want to slowly make the screen red over the course of 3024000 frames. ( 7 in game days.

      i guess you could do a Get Number event or something
      with a bunch of conditional branches for 1-20 (or find how the hell variables are read in the JS Code itself and just use that)
      localStorage["RPG FIle1"] = 0; (where you replace 1 with file id)
      and it *should* clear out that save ?
      you can also do localStorage.clear() to delete everything.

      +Aiden Burnett I remember seeing other ng+ plugins, but I recall them not really working they way I wanted them to.
      There IS a way to do it with these, but I'm not entirely sure the best way to go about it(would probably require a lot of exterior code)
      BUT that all depends on how indepth you want your ng+ to be. It COULD be done with a lot of variables I'd imagine, depending on how much stuff you'd want to carry over:3
