Have a feeling finding out how many viewers claim to have never seen "The Scream" before would make me even further depressed by humanity than this video

How is he fact that Henry Winkler was in a TV show a reference? Obviously when he combs his hair like The Fonz, that’s a reference. Just pointing out that he has previously worked is not a reference. Wtf.

I refuse to believe Billy falling down was a reference to Laurie falling in Halloween. But then again he does fall down almost exactly when she does in the tv version they’re watching. So maybe.

I’ve seen a few scenes years ago when I was REALLY young, I’ve been so terrified😂
Now, it’s like watching a normal movie since you know it’s fake.

Characters were stabbed, just like in Halloween. Also you see Sidney wearing a jean jacket which is a reference to Jamie Lee Curtis because she wore jeans in halloween. Also Sidneys name starts with "S" which is the 19th letter in the alphabet. Halloween was released in 1978.

Most of these aren’t references, just because you have a character that’s in the movie, that had also been in another movie isn’t a reference

For someone who picks on “hello”, he mentions ghostface sneaking up behind Randy but not mention that Randy’s actor is called Jaime and he’s basically saying to turn around
Even how Billy says he was watching the Exorcist and it reminded him of Sydney. U could even add the fountain scene kinda reference the Friends’ opening, a show Courtney Cox is in

People making jokes about "character breathes is a reference to another movie where a character breathes" really need to watch more movies and especially the horror movies referenced in SCREAM -- it's a loveletter to the genre, I don't see how any of these are reaches when references are a part of SCREAM's legacy. Jesus, people.

The first "reference" is literally just answering the phone with the word "hello"?
That's how literally everybody, everywhere, answered their phone, all of the time lol. It still is, for the most part. In some cases maybe it'd be some variant of the greeting, like "hi" or "hey" or "yo" or "yes?", but there was never anyone in the entire world answering their phone by saying "goodbye" or "hooray" or "buffalo."

    • chris smook

Sucks, if only Ghostface in DBD would’ve been modeled after this OG Ghostface but have to love Hollywood.
Luckily we are getting this Scream 1 outfit for DBD like now.
I’m curious who did the voice for Ghostface over the phone in this movie.
Scream is still a classic, but I remember when it first came out.
