The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the premier late night talk show on CBS, airing at 11:35pm EST, streaming online via Paramount+, and delivered to the International Space Station on a USB drive taped to a weather balloon. I met Keanu about 16 years ago at the premier of the Matrix movie in NYC. I worked at the movie theater as a cleaner and server. The entire night, I saw all the stars in the movie come and go without any of them looking at me or saying hello to me, perhaps because of my color and the cheap uniform I had on. For 16 years, I have never forgotten the event that will follow the first few hours after I begun my shift at work that evening. Keanu walked up to me and asked me how I was doing!! I said to myself "are you really talking to me?" Believe it or not, he actually came up to me and showed compassion and care. That was the last thing I ever expected anyone to do that evening. He proceed to ask me about my job and where I come from. And I told him I was from Ghana and have been working at the theater for about a year. He chatted with me for about 5 mins but it felt like forever. He then gave me a hug I will never forget. He is truly a good human being. I don't usually leave comments on YT but this is to confirm this video. Keanu is good.

I've read and watched videos on Keanu's life and his well known Altruistic lifestyle that he would never publicize himself. Coming up to you and honestly being interested in your story is indicative of the truly good hearted person he is. What a great memory to hold on to.

I remember a time when Keanu Reeves was a bad word. People made fun of his movies. He’s always been the master of cool for me. Been a fan since I was a kid.

@yokvinden technically speaking, he's never been particularly rated as an actor. His best performance was probably Point Break. His range is not that great. Absolute professional, extremely well-respected, very warm person, loves motorbikes, and he doesn't shy from nerdy productions, but he'll never be Oscar material (he collected quite a few Razzie nominations though).

It's interesting that he mentioned spiders because in the movie Constantine when the detective visits him at his home he places a spider under a cup of glass and fills up the glass with cigarette smoke as the detective leaves his residence she lifts up the glass and releases the little spider suffocating in the smoke.
Imagine if Keanu and Tom Cruise in a movie! They would compete at each other who can do the most stunts! 😂

No, seriously, I've noticed that we don't get all the questions for every guest. Not sure if Colbert is cutting some out, or if they're edited out later. Probably the latter. Maybe they didn't have an answer, or it was boring.
@LeavingIt Blank But I watched it again after seeing the Questionert with Bradley Cooper and I noticed that Stephen left out a question to Keanu that he had asked most of the other guests, "What is the most used app on your phone?" so how could Keanu be "fully known" without that answer?

Keanu seems to have a difficult time being self-cantered and people respond to that - sandwiches for other people, autographs for other people… he’s lovely. His instinct seems to be to de-centre himself to make space for others.

He got a little choked up, talking about Carlin. When he says, "beautiful... beautiful," there's a lot of emotion being suppressed. The autograph, though, is pure Carlin. I know he still treasures that one.

The expression he gave when describing the engine smell really shows his earnestness I think. A side I never saw before, a man's man alright.
That answer he gave to the death question is forever saved in my faves and my head. I had just lost someone close to me, a friend since my freshman year of college...so almost 20 years...and his answer to that came up on my feed. It's so simple, not really ground breaking, but somehow stuck with me. That answer helped remembering my buddy for the happy times and my own grieving. Thank you, Keanu.
Yes, It was a very sweet simple answer and very beautiful thing to say. We don't think about who will miss us, I think we as humans probably think more like "what will we, ourselves" miss, when we are gone. Not the other way. So to say, who loved us will miss us sounds beautiful to me, that we will be remembered by those that love us. Just my thought. Anyway I'm glad his words brought you comfort. He is always thinking about the other person's feelings.
Keanu lost his best friend to a drug overdose in 93, his daughter was stillborn in 99, and a little less than 2 years later, in 2001, her mother was killed when she was ejected from the windshield of her car, that she crashed.... only a few days after getting back together with Keanu (they broke up after the loss of their daughter)... he knows pain. And I think that's what makes him seem so human compared to alot of the big stars we see. All of that happened right as his career was exploding and it really puts a stark contrast to all the unimportant shit in Hollywood that everyone else places so much value on.
Having been widowed twice & recently my mom joined my dad on the other side I absolutely agree with Keanu. We keep our loved ones alive by remembering them & missing them. We all need love.
I swear, I've never seen Keanu Reeves seem so bright, like around the middle, I feel like he is glowing, so wholesome and sweet, like honey and crunchy peanut butter

A car smashed into the back of my car and was completely at fault . i went into rage , but my wife got out of the car, partially injured and went to the young girl who was driving the other car . she was crying hysterically as i was berating her but my wife started to hug her and calmed her down , telling her it was ok .
it was at that moment i realized i was married to a saint . I then began to question what she saw in me with all of my anger and negativity . that was twenty five years ago and she continues to amaze me with her generosity .
The only celebrity I would feel awkward talking to. Respect him so much.

His answer from the original question, was pure poetry. That is the only certainty in death, that those who loved you will miss you. It's also the only answer that doesn't invoke or deminish anyone's moral, religious or ethical beliefs, it's just a sad truth.

It kinda feels like an example of lateral thinking. After all, taking the question exactly as it is on face value, it doesn't necessarily mean what happens TO YOU when you die. It is indeed entirely correct and factual that the people who love us will miss us is something THAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DIE.
