Inside Iman & David Bowie’s Scenic Home Filled With Wonderful Objects | Vogue Howto & Style
The way she talks about him, like he is still physically present is everything. This is beautiful.
Yes it’s pretty sweet.
This is love
That’s called real love ❤️
You would to if you inherited his fortune.
What a mesmerizing woman.
What a love story! You can feel it in her voice.
@James Jameson You are right. They are all in denial
@Susan Dee I am not hating. It's a fact.
@Susan Dee not that kinda money sweetie
@James Jameson she had her own money - she was a professional supermodel for years - everyone knows this. jealousy is not a good look
@AJ L Iman has never been destitute lol stop hating!
I could listen to Iman speak all day. Her voice and her energy is so calming. Her love for David is so evident, even without truly knowing her. She really seems like an authentic and sweet person
@KC Belgian sad?? I'd say it was more along the lines of an intended rude response to a foul/ignorant comment but you may downplay it to sad if you prefer 😊
@Jeannie Marie you realize your reply, it s pretty sad
@N.W.A. i'm straight outta compton but plse ... sigh. You can focus on / looking for negativity. But what is your gain? Idk but if that's your thing wtf r u doing here ?
@Den indeed
@Sophia W.well just stay away ... easy enough
I love that she reminds us of what is really important … not walls or architecture … but memories that become art
Well said.
So perfectly said!
Amen
Totally agree! Beautifully said ❤️
Everyone is talking about her and David but...she kept a pillow her friend gave her 20+ years ago. That's so sweet. Some friends are worth more than rubies.
Late 80s early 90s is easily 30 years +- because i was born in 1985 and I'm already what, 37yo?
What a long loyal friendship
Wow. She is ethereal. You can tell exactly why David - someone so magnificent, a once-in-a-billion supernova - totally fell in love with her until death and beyond. She is enrapturing, the way she talks about things with such deep resonance and feeling; makes you feel alive.
Incredibly well said.
@Geraldine Lafayette Wow! This is really well said! Each statement!
EXACTLY!
@Sunny Sails agreed ❤️
Awwww this is beautiful 🥰
I respect her so much: incredible creativity, elegance, wonderful manners.
@AnaVVify AnaV Vify I don't click on no link without a description, what's it about
RESPECT PEOPLE: thexvid.com/video/fAx954-8sgg/video.html
@James Jameson who are YOU??
@thealchemist who are you!!
@James Jameson what creativity? are you being serious? don't embarrass yourself like that.
My favorite Iman quote. "People knew David Bowie the artist. I knew David Jones the man and I loved him."
Mine is, "' 'ere smoke this, it will keep you warm."
This was so calming to watch. David is there with her every step of the way. Love this so much.
Hey ....
I’m emotional watching this, you can tell how her grief has filled the space with memories and love. A real love story
I felt the same watching this. I was moved to tears when she talked about the stones.
Hey...
When I say tears came to my eyes when she talked about David.. I could hear the love in her voice. Her overall beauty is just breathtaking. The house is so peaceful, warm, filled with love… absolutely beautiful!
I love the way she explains those stack stones, in memory of someone and as navigation for life. Each object is beautiful and artistic and shows her deep love and sorrow for her husband.
When Iman and David were married, I remember thinking “everything is right in the world”. They are so wonderful together.
They’re still married, he’s just dead
They were a perfect match.
I was absolutely captivated by every word that came out of her mouth, this is by far favorite house tour, everything has so meaningful and I felt honored to watch this clip.
Everything in her house has meaning and I love that. These items hold precious memories and shares her story. So beautiful. The entire house is calming.
Such a beautiful woman inside and out. Her love and testimony to David by talking about him in the present and sharing things he loved made me tear up. But also that homage to her dear friend Naomi: A woman who was painted as the villain by the press (and Tyra Banks) throughout the 90s.. Who everyone who actually worked with her still love! I’m so glad to see she’s finally getting all the respect she deserved so long ago as well.
i keep tearing up because i feel like she's holding back tears as she was talking. I adore this woman so much!
Yes! I thought she was holding back tears as well.
@MazBringsby excuse me! This isn’t about people being celebrities this is about loosing a loved one
So be quiet if you don’t have anything nice to say
Yeah
Look up Andrew Wommack's A Better Way To Pray and Within Heaven's Gates by Rebecca Springer 😇
@MazBringsby why are you here. Let me sprinkle some positive fairy 🧚♀️ dust your way!
I've never been so grateful for someone sharing something with the world. Godbless this woman
You can still see the pain in her eyes and it's there because she has experienced what most of us will never and that's "true love" between her and David.
I'm 63 and have never experienced it. This makes me sad but I'm so happy for her. 💜
@Happy traveller
Sorry to hear that. 😔My mother was married for 50 years to my father and felt the same way you did.
I believe I will just stay single. Not looking but if a nice guy drops in my lap before I die, then so be it. But I'm not on the prowl at all!
Waiting on God's promise of a new world!
Take care! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wow. I too am 63. Married 44 years. No real connection. I feel lonely. And sad
so hard to find "true love" when we all are so petty. Iman and David were not petty.
@LadySnowBlood
🙏 Thank you!
Don’t worry you will. Promise 😊
This gonna be my all time favorite Vogue video. Such a sincere way to walk people through her house and the story behind every piece. I love this woman!
She is incredibly strong yet vulnerable.
This was really emotional.
I love her
I just love how she honors him. She never calls him "my late husband", she calls him "my husband". Even death didn't really part them. Wishing her all the peace in the world.
@KLN Thanks I really appreciate it and you’re right. I also noticed most of us rarely find out the sacrifices that our parents make especially our mothers to put us in the best position in life. We should all be grateful regardless of our socioeconomic factors.
Wish you the best to you and your family. Take care
@ThinkBefore YouType That’s so beautiful (I’m sorry for your loss). It’s an African thing I assume bless Somalia 🇸🇴
The earthly parting is death. But the love lives on.
He is in her heart.
@thealchemist Good,i respect her decision which is good.
@Justina Musyoka Iman has said she won't remarry at all.
Twin Flame energy emanating when she was talking about the sculputure, the potrait of David looking at her, the book, and the masks.
Also the big seahorse gives me that feeling. Perhaps they were/are eachoters muses and inspiration :)
Beautiful House as well :) quite mystic.
Love is eternal 🌹❤11.11.
I love how she shows off her art pieces that brings her joy and memories of her husband!!! And everything she owns there s a story behind it and she shows it to us with pride!! Yea they are objects of affection!!!
I lost my wife 6 years ago so I understand the pain of loss. I love the masks as well those are really cool. You can actually feel the love that you have for David. There'll never be anyone else like him. He was one of a kind.
This was so dreamy, soothing, and peaceful to watch. You really feel the essence of not only Iman's spirit but David's as well.
I like this woman because she likes these objects because of what they represent in her life, not because of their monetary value or show. Her personality is very refreshing.
@Liliane Beeckman 👍
@Lulu Moon DITTO‼️❗👍🏾👍🏽👍🏾
These are my kind of people, regardless of their station in life.
I agree.
*sobs in proud Somali* I can't put into words how I love this woman. Hooyo Iman is so authentic and wholesome!
A beautiful, elegant woman with such a calming and serene presence, everything combined. Herself, her surroundings, her obvious love of art and things past which you can see mean so much to her.
I have watched lord of these about people’s houses, but this one is the best, what a lovely lady& how she loves& respects David& her dear friends ❤️
I loved every moment of this video. What a lovely woman! The painting her daughter made is out of this world...really touched my heart.
You can just tell that she is living her life but she also can't wait to see him again. This was a very sweet love letter to her husband. She's fabulous
you’re going to make me cry… omg, their love was so special.
She truly loves her husband
Boy stop
So true
@Roleta Fereti Nuuola bot
It seems clear that Iman's "love language" is gift giving. I am the polar opposite however Iman has just opened my eyes to how lovely it can be. 💗
You can feel the love they shared through the sound of her voice. I love how this space became a theraputic dwelling for healing for Iman. Absolutley beautiful!
I could listen to her speak for hours. Her voice feels like a mother's embrace. What a woman.
The most beautiful memories have been created in this house, every object is heart felt. ❤
She’s so beautiful, but she probably would say her beauty is best because it has brought her in touch with so many wonderful friends. Hearing her speak about David makes me think about my parents and how much my mother misses my daddy since she lost him.
I could watch and listen to Iman speak all day!! Her voice is like music. This is a beautiful video! ❤️
It's the smacking of the teeth. I can't
Never been a David Bowie fan and know almost nothing about this lady, apparently his wife. But enjoyed every moment of this. She came across very real. Full of beautiful emotions of her present life and past memories. Was so calming!
Iman always was magnetic, but as she gets older, she becomes even more so.
I love how much she loves him and admires him. Very sad that he’s no longer physically there with her. I just love their whole story.
Cutting onions while watching this 😭
@Libertine Mercenary84 happy to say, yes it does exist 💓
I agree with you.
@Lisa C I just love the way they light up when they both talk about the other. They were MEANT to be together. You can tell that love is forever. It’s beautiful
Wow...this has gotten me crying. Thank you Iman for a lovely, warm, simple picture of your house and what it means to you. The objects you adored were relatively simple - seeped in emotion and not just because they were the most expensive item. What a beautiful soul you come across as. The most powerful moment for me was your explanation of the stacking stones; and the book you and David bothed adored. Happy Birthday to David, too, through your wonderful video. Love, Ziggy.
This was so captivating and beautiful! You can feel her love for David and her family. I am glad her grief journey is going well.
Love her - She totally brought tears to my eyes when she talked about the perform inspired by her late husband David. That is sooo beautiful. To be loved like that is a beautiful thing. :)
Since their 1992 union, their love and devotion for each other still touches me. I myself still miss David' s presence and yes, his legacy will always be forever timeless and loved. This post was just so incredibly impeccable and beautiful like the goddess herself. Thank Iman for sharing your treasures and wonderful memories of your wonderful husband.
She saved him, and now, she's carrying his memory the most tender way possible. Probably the most touching house tour I've ever watched.
I agree! A very special tour.
I totally agree
She speaks of him like he is still present. If you never knew he was dead you would think she is speaking about a husband still
Alive. I like it
Yeah, she talks about him so loving and caring and cherishing.... It still feels warm today. They must have had a great life together.
I think that was more of a love story than a look at Iman's house. Beautiful; and left me a little sad, you can feel her love for him. Wonderful storytelling great job Vogue.
What an honour. What an incredible lady. Loved how this one was just so personal and how connected as a viewer I felt to Iman and her words ❤️
Every time I come back to this video I cry. Their love and respect for each-other is so inspiring. She’s and incredible woman.
Their love is just so beautiful that it still carries on strongly with Iman's memories. The way she shares her memories, truly touching.
Her voice and presence is so tranquil and calm. Like water trickling over pebbles
She always sounded dignified and kept her class unlike many celebs or supermodels, she acts like a classic Somali lady ,strong but respectful .
It's just what he needed. She was perfect for him.
@Nina J It’s also the cadence and tone of the voice that pulls you in. I love their love story 💗.
Yes, and it might be shallow, but I find her one of the most beautiful women of today. I even felt guilty because I couldn't concentrate well enough on what she was showing, I had to rewind multiple times since I kept staring at her. :3
Beautifully said 🙏
I love Iman. Shes so warm and genuine. She's very graceful too, almost angelic.
I love her house; and how David is infused into everything
This was so gentle and beautiful.
Iman's voice and aura.... so soothing. LOVE
“ the world is over 4 billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie.” Such a beautiful look into a beautiful love story.
No, the world is not 4 billion years old. But the God who created this amazing world also created love, and brought man and woman together, saying they should become one flesh.
@Danny P. you have no idea…….👹
@ Blair Santana: if god actually existed, it certainly was David Bowie
Indeed.
Lol the man isn’t God.
Epitome of cool! Never knew she had her own fragrance inspired by David! Love it
She seems like such a genuinely sweet woman; beautiful inside and out. I love how much she honors Mr. Bowie and their lives together, they were soul mates ❤
What a beautiful, elegant woman… she simply doesn’t age…. RIP David Bowie, you are missed🙏🏻
I could really feel their love for each other. It literally bought me to tears.
What a beautiful woman! Her explanations of her favorite things, especially the stacked stones got me a little teary eyed.
My goodness she is absolutely stunning! Iman and David are Fashion and Rock & Roll Royalty, forever iconic.
She’s so down to earth. I lost the love of my life a year ago so I understand her grieving process. She’s found ways to balance this huge loss to her heart. The love and gifts given to her by friends and family she shows an appreciation a beautiful woman inside and out.
She talks about her late husband and icon, David Bowie, throughout this whole interview. I love it 🥰 he's still with her mentally, emotionally, and spiritually 😌
The house is beautiful and I love how she has so many objects around that remind her of her husband, it must be hard for her some days tho
The house and the interior is so fantastic, beautiful style- the soul of David.
The REAL value of objects are what they inspire and mean to you. Iman understands this. Classy lady.
I can't believe I cried watching this! So touching and heart warming this was. 🎀 Such a wonderful experience to be surrounded by love &beautiful memories 🎀. It's such a gift to 💜LOVE & BE LOVED♥️
You can just tell by the way people speak about their partner with such pride and love that they are/were clearly soulmates 🤍
Truly amazing stories told by the love of David's life. I first met Iman in Paris at the Olympia 29.10.1991 for the Tin Machine show and was thinking was this the time when David bought Iman the Hermes bag shown in this Vogue Episode? Could be, could be not.
Thanks Iman for sharing such brilliant memories of our beloved 'Hero'.
I love how she speaks. There’s something about her that just draws you in, she has really good energy.
She's so beautiful and elegant. But she's never relied on that beauty....I think she's more interested in everything around her, much more than herself
@mimuiao oh yeah, well Bowie has been said to be like a rocker anti-rocker in that he grew into being very sensitive and compassionate post drug addiction.
@T E I don't mean this in a negative sense. There is just something very motherly about her and I find it curious that he was so smitten with that.
@mimuiao interesting how?
She comes across as being very maternal, matronly even. I find it interesting that David fell for this kind of woman.
Wow, she really loved him. That's so sweet. I don't remember much of the house just the things that were dear to her and David.
Iman would be a great aunt with her house full of great stories 💗
This house has such personality, its absolutely stunning. I love it! 💕
I often watch Vogue homes for the luxury, but this is something else, what a goddess, what a place, so much soul , beauty and history -I just luved it somuch
Usually celebrities show the house and their interior to show off their artistic endeavors but for her a house is about love and memory of loved ones, she shows the history of the things she values and that is interlinked with friends and family
@The Ancients Ancients yes that's called product placement,
Where they drop products for consumers in a " every day life video"
There's noting wrong with it, but when your talking bout your partners death and dropping that plug in, is distasfull,,
How's that jealous? It's jus capitalism!!!!!! Never miss a chance to make money,,
@little bray utd There is a story behind. She has been successful already . She mentions not on her perfume the story ! She just gave a background story to it . You are jealous
🥺🥺 Alexandria's painting is absolutely stunning. Also the "Sleeping Beauties" is precious. What a lovely young girl! They did an amazing iob raising her!
I love this so much ❤️ The stacked stone perfume bottle is so beautiful and creative 😍
The memories are so beautiful and rich. Each story filled me so! The background was so serene and calming. Her essence captivating. Her love palpable. Their love story still fueled…
It's absolutely amazing how Iman has kept everything in such good condition -wow!
Their love is so strong, i hope to find something like that someday…
You will. We all will, that's my wish 🤞🏾
@tylerpurrden ❤
Amen...
You will.💙 Law of Attraction works.
Debo, get out there and only do things you love. That is sure to result in good relationships. The best to you! M
This was so beautiful and emotionally to watch. Also, a reminder to collect things with beautiful memories 🤍
I love Iman - and this taught me so much about love and grief, God bless her
This was my favorite one. So much love and history ❤️
Movies or shows in most cases don't make me cry. I rarely ever have tears in my eyes, but when Iman showed the painting her daughter Lexi has drawn for mother's day, that quickly changed.
She is so regal and just has the most immaculate taste, and her love for David is so deeply apparent. This was a beautiful video. Bravo vogue.
So beautiful 💖 I love how detailed and honorable she is to her husband. I felt how much she adored him.
Iman such an amazing story teller. She is so beautiful inside and out. We miss David too.
I loved this! Iman's voice is so lovely and soothing. Then to hear her speak of her late husband Mr. Bowie and the sentimental things are just so sweet.
She always is real. I love that she is amazingly grounded. I can see she is holding back tears.
I’m so happy to see more of her and hear her stories 🤍
I was just thinking the same thing. She's a legend and she should be showcased as much as possible.
Iman is gorgeous and classy. She has not aged one bit , and I love how she speaks about her husband and friendships.
Just watched Naomi's interview for British Vogue and something that's similar between Naomi and Iman is how incredibly genuine they are
Wisdom, beauty and the love they have it's so inspiring
Such a beautiful lady and so respectful I can tell how much she loved her husband. She seems like such a spiritual woman and a grateful person I will always miss David Bowie he was one of my idols growing up my very first title at that thank you again to Vogue
I lost the love of my life 15 years ago and when Iman talks about David it resonates so much with me because sadly I get it. Iman is so wonderful and captivating that David would have been powerless under those charms. They were/are perfect for one another and this was a beautiful homage to him and their love.
I would like to see more of Iman, she’s so classy and interesting
@D Legionnaire lmao
The life they built together is absolutely beautiful. 💕💕
Dear Iman. I am so sorry for your loss. I'm so glad you're doing okay as are the children. David meant so much to so many of us-- in our grief we may have misunderstood yours. Best to you & your family. Sincerest condolences, T. PS: I purchased Black Star in advance of its release. I still haven't listened to it. I'm just not ready. xx
A beautiful house with the most wonderful views. I have always liked and admired Iman as she is a strong, beautiful, elegant, classy lady
Iman is just I MA N there is none like her. She has a lot of depth and layer to her and values that make her unique and lovable. She is a wonderful soul !
As a huge Bowie fan, I have always been so grateful for her entering his life. She really saved him. I'm a huge fan of their love. Iman is a such a beautiful woman and soul. Thank you so much for this amazing video. Sending so much love to Iman. Thank you for taking care of Bowie.
@Emma Bauer EXACTLY!
Yes, she gave him his best years. Nice that he got a happy life like that.
