if you haven't watch jurassic world then dont read my comment as it contains spoilers: Blue is the only hybrid dinosaur now as she has rexy's dna now she might grow as big as the indoraptor and have more denser bones

I’d still love to see at least as a side story, someone making a perfected indoraptor in pack form with an alpha. Kind of weird with them stopping the hybrids point blank at the hight of their game. But I do like the idea of bringing back the classics. But how will the make them antagonistic again when blue and rexy are the last if their species? Unless somhow others start cloning them again.

  • papa-pepe

these comments are pretty funny, so many are rejoicing over the departure of hybrids solely because they aren't "real" dinosaurs... it's jurassic park... there are no "real dinosaurs"...they're all hybrids...

I feel like it’s going to be about the left dinosaurs and maybe loose ones in the human populated environments and Isla sorna having people sent to specific locations were dinosaurs are alive so that they can be destroyed and maybe have it be the end of dinosaurs the final of The Jurassic series unless there is a 4

Indominus and Indoraptor were awesome, but yes - they need to stop with hybrids. Although I'd love to see many other hybrids, like Ultimasaurus for example, on big screen, I think it's time to focus now on "real" dinosaurs.

The hybrids make the actual dinosaurs look like mindless monsters tbh

  • Xenosaurian
    Xenosaurian 7 months ago

NOTE: That statement doesn't necessarily mean there won't be any more actual hybrids, it simply means they'll go back in some sense to something much more familiar and perhaps even something more true to life. Besides, it would feel a little strange not to have any hybrids whatsoever in the new and different Jurassic World (where hybrids have received such a great emphasis, especially considering hybridization has been around since the beginning). I would personally still like to see Stegoceratops and Ultimasaurus be featured in an actual feature film.

    • Xenosaurian
      Xenosaurian 7 months ago

///By your statement of "Beautiful and hopeful teaser," it sounds like something personally for you.///
      I thought that was implied.
///The vast majority of fans prefer to see ACTUAL dinosaurs in the films.///
I don't think you should be emphasizing "ACTUAL" when there can't technically be any ACTUAL dinosaurs in the films, especially considering (again) that all dinosaurs in the films are hybrids to some extent, some are just more hybridized than others, and whether or not the vast majority of fans prefer to see actual dinosaurs in these films or not I can't really say, but what I can say is that there are definitely a fair amount of fans who either prefer actual dinosaurs or hybrid dinosaurs, and personally (seeing as this is just a creative piece of science fiction entertainment) I'm perfectly fine regardless if they include hybrids or not.
///Lol not just me personally, but the vast majority.///
Again, we don't really have any statistics to demonstrate that, but many people undeniably do prefer that, and I respect your own opinion.
///Oh, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that would want to see those creatures in the movies, they're called "children" and it would only be because they have the toy of it.///
Now you're just being silly. I'm actually attempting to have a sincere and respectful dialogue. It's ironic, the way you're speaking of juvenile minds here. I'd expect you to act in a more mature manner rather than throwing vague insults at another fellow fan merely because you disagree on a matter of pure personal opinion. I haven't even harmed or insulted you in any way, why the negative and derogatory attitude?

///Both hybrids sound like some stupid market ploy Hasbro would make up, really.///
I suppose it ain't too far off, but I don't see the issue. I would still love to see them make a feature film appearance (especially knowing one of them was actually considered and planned for Jurassic World but ended up appearing only on a computer screen in the lab, it was such a beautiful and hopeful teaser).
///Yes it would ruin the movie to include such creatures as they appear to be more akin to something like Crocosaurus vs Supergator.///
I still disagree, it wouldn't be even close to ruining the movie (if the movie got ruined for you, then that's just a shame, but I for one would appreciate and enjoy it). Also, I'd rather compare Indominus and Indoraptor to Crocosaurus and Supergator, the real difference is that the two previous beasts were better handled and given more respect as movie monsters, and it might as well have been the other way around.
///Also, Nostalgic? What on earth do you mean by that, is it a creature from your childhood or something?///
Technically, yes, and considering it's been a very popular and unique creature, totally something from a nightmare, and it would be absolutely awesome to see it alive on the big screen and I'm confident many people out there would be pleasently surprised and greatly entertained by it as well.

    • Theropod Hunter

Both hybrids sound like some stupid market ploy Hasbro would make up, really. Yes it would ruin the movie to include such creatures as they appear to be more akin to something like Crocosaurus vs Supergator. Also, Nostalgic? What on earth do you mean by that, is it a creature from your childhood or something?

    • Xenosaurian
      Xenosaurian 7 months ago

Well, first off, I disagree and I consider Stegoceratops to be my favourite hybrid and Ultimasaurus to be a very interesting, unique, and nostalgic one (they would be perfect movie monsters, if done properly), and second of all, they wouldn't even need to be the main dinosaurs, and merely because they would be included in the film doesn't in any way make the film itself "dull and laughable" (I hardly believe a brand like Jurassic Park would be able to pull that off, regardless how many hybrids they include or don't include).

The weird thing is that I'm not opposed to the hybrids as a concept, it's just that JW clearly doesn't know how to work them. I mean, the Indoraptor's alright, but the Indominus Rex was just a yawnfest. Maybe it would have helped if they utilized the weird abilities more, like if the Indi Rex used its camouflage more than once. Still, considering the way they went with it, I'm glad to see them gone.

I enjoyed the hybrids and I’m definitely putting the Indominus Rex and raptor in my park in Evolution but I think they should go out with the whole hybrid thing with a bang in the next film and then go out with a bang with the classics with the last film. Perfect way to end a franchise.

It'll be an original JP style. Park will attempt to be re-opened or reconstructed somewhere, they'll bring in specialists either to approve of the park or get it ready. Things will go wrong, and they will get stuck trying to survive the island. I do think that the idea of dinosaurs on the main land is definitely coming, just not so soon.

I loved Jurassic World, and know that I'm going to love Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, but I think that the Jurassic World trilogy started to stray away from the feeling that Jurassic Park had starting about half-way through Jurassic World. As soon as the indominus rex broke out, it started to become its own thing, and the holograms and other tech also made it feel too futuristic.

Ok, so I have a question for everyone.
My sister-in-law thinks and insists that the titanoboa is a dinosaur. I don't think it is, and it drives me crazy when she says "my favorite dinosaur is the titanoboa."
I try to say that it isn't really a dinosaur and that it is just a prehistoric reptile but she gets all superior and says "isn't that what all dinosaurs are?"
What do you guys think? I've tried looking it up, but nothing is answering my question.

that's actually wrong. hollywood is a business, and the audiences spend their money on what they want. if people doesn't enjoy what the studios produce, there´s no business anymore. we, as costumers, have a lot to say and whoever makes a movie has to be aware of people's preferences because it's all about making money. it's very legit to complain about what you don't like IF you potencially are someone who spends money on their products.

I'm both glad that hybrids are disappearing (though I'm guessing they only count dinosaurs such as the indoraptor and indominus as hybrids) but I'm also kind of bummed out that they never did anything interesting with the concept.

There's no way the dinosaurs can retake Earth. The DPG is only rescuing 11 species, and at limited numbers at that. Heck, they're all female too. None of them have that genetic flaw of the first movie either where they can change sex, either.
