@jake mr honest yup I agree. That's why I specified Hollywood and not indie or foreign films which still value a quality script over a quick dollar. And yes, every once in a while Hollywoos manages to sneak a real gem past the Execs but thats more the exception then the rule

@Lilly Anne Serrelio I admit that the majority of stuff coming out of hollywood is tripe, but there are some real good movies. also, the independent sector has gotten really impressive, and some foreign movies are quite good

So, any species advanced enough to have been an aggressor in a past interstellar war would certainly not need anyone to tell them about the danger of a pulsar.

    oh, wow.. that was awful:
    good: CGI, sets, actors...
bad: those wonderful actors only had a terrible, weak story arc & *ridiculous* dialogue to work with!😣
how is it that everything *else* was great?? but the story & dialogue was so *criminally* lacking??🤦🏾
nothing about the interactions between the people appeared as being even *remotely* natural, as well.. everything between them was just so 'dam' ...awkward.. the timing of all movement and interactions, *within* the scenes, was just so very *off.*
i really wanted to like this film, i really did.. because i actually *do* know what it takes to get, even a film *short* completed, let alone a full length feature film...
so i'm always rooting for the underdogs in the industry, the newbies, etc., & i love binging on, esp., sci-fi shorts.. applaud, as practice, *nearly everyone,* every team that gets it done.
but i *did* notice the ratings ratio and thought, why?? why so many dislikes?? i then figured that maybe it was just an odd one-off, with, for some weird reason, too many unjustified down-votes - i was hopeful... but, sorry to report, i was wrong. 🙁
whoever made this one.. keep doing what your doing... really... everything... except for the writing part.. or, if a writer was hired or volunteered?:
remain friends, if you're friends.. and if you're family, awesome...
but never, *ever,* use that person for that job ever *again.*
    just smdh. 😐

I'm so confoosdeded now. Did the ship he was on turn away, or was it destroyed as he was launched? How long was he floating through space before he crashed? Who was the girl in the fish dress? What planet is it? It's an alient planet! Is there air?! YOU DON'T KNOW!!

    • Tech News for Tech Noobs

      @Sgt-En4orcer Actually...that last part of a Galaxy Quest reference...about the air. :)

    • Sgt-En4orcer
      Sgt-En4orcer 23 days ago

No the ship wasn't destroyed. When he was ejected the storm ceased to be around the ship. They didn't give a reference to how long. But we know it was a long time because they put him cryogenic sleep until he got to the planet Nineveh. The girl in the fish dress is native of the planet Nineveh . Yes there was air because he was breathing.

When you drive down a dark country road at night where there are no lights and see another car, do you see all of it or just the headlights? Okay so why is it when we see space crafts in movies that are in deep space do we always see the whole craft? Deep space which is darker than any country road at night and yet we can see all sides of the ship?? Shouldnt we only see the lights and only the lights? Can you tell the make, model and color of a car at night?

    • deathstar11
      deathstar11 Month ago +1

@Yevrah Hipstar Haha, yes exactly and then theres one more...when two or more space crafts encounter each other in space and they are facing each other head on during their dialogue. This is space, theres no up or down. What are the chances two crafts would encounter each other face on? Theres 360 degrees of which they could approach each other from any angle.

Actually this is one of the most stupid movies I've ever seen. Everything is stupid:
    1. Sound in space
    2. Strange crew, which more looks like a bunch of "cargo cult" worshipers, like Sulik from Fallout 2 (they believe that a piece of bone can be delegated to take decisions, OMG, who let them drive a space ship...: facepalm:)
    3. Strange main hero.
Someone said in comments that this is a version of Jonah's tale, but, guys, it is so ridiculous...

MORE: The woman on the surface is the planet's ambassador
The planet dwellers are a once abused people who don't trust anyone. The survivors of the abuse have developed a weapons system to protect themselves from all comers. They kill first. Ask questions later. No more trust.
They have agreed to speak with the peacemaker without any guarantees. if they are not satisfied with his offer or suggestions they will kill him.
History has taught them they don't have to negotiate. They have to protect their planet.

    • Cliff Moore
      Cliff Moore Month ago

Here's what I gathered. The women appear to be banished ex-cons who were possibly tried and convicted for witchcraft. The planet they are headed toward or passing has deemed all the air space out to a certain parameter which is a ridiculous distance to be theirs and will destroy anything that penetrates their supposed boundaries. The peacemaker is there to negotiate a fly-by zone or die trying.
