Yeah man that's what I'm saying! Anytime I look at one of these things I'm looking at it mechanically and not thinking about how I should hit or break the thing lol I feel like that's kind of a cheap way to trick people at least on the behalf of the inventor of the puzzle.

So, are these really even puzzles if you can't figure out how to do them without knowing the trick beforehand? I never understood what made toys/objects like these to be considered a puzzle when there's no logical way to come to the conclusion that you have to thwack it against something or some other bs solution they come up with.
I mean, sure, you can always brute force it, but blowing a safe up isn't the same as "cracking" into it in my eyes

I don't personally like the puzzles where you hit it from a certain angle or spin it. I would rather have something like the 2 rings where it seems impossible but isn't, rather than actually impossible until its changed

So the trick to beating the puzzle is to break the puzzle. It’s like one of those mystery boxes where moving one piece in an unexpected way suddenly allows the whole thing to work. This one like that but shittier, no fun element of surprise, just break the puzzle.

Pretty sure you are supposed to steam the wood so it expands and allows you to remove the bolt. Thats usually the actual answer to these sorts of puzzles.

  • ram Teja

I thought the solution would be to rotate the topmost bolt till it comes off the shaft, that would be more sensible, not just removing the beam

Problem with this being a true impossible object is that you can actually see the seams where the frame was stuck together, meaning that it could have been literally built around the bolt if we didn't know otherwise. To avoid something like that, people make these things look seamless or make them out of a seamless object, my favorites are ones created actually seamless through heat, moisture, and temporarily bending wood.

  • Animaniac 00

Am I just tripping or you can actually solve it by just unscrewing the bolts? First you remove the bottom one, and move the middle one towards the top like in the video, and it just gives more than enough space to unscrew the top one. The only way this wouldn't work is if the bolt on the top is actually welded on the screw, which isn't specified here.. so what am I missing ? Why wouldn't this be a solution?
