This is nothing short of the most impressive piece of equipment to ever grace my system -- after nearly 25 years as a system builder I've seen what I consider to be quality gear. This board ticks all the right boxes, raises the bar and then rewrites the book on what it means to select a strong foundation for a system that not only performs exactly as they promise but wlill not ler you down as your needs evolve in the future.

I bought this to replace a piece of crap MSI Godlike Gaming that was buggier than hell. The bluetooth on this board doesn't work on Windows 10. And there is always an unrecognised USB device on device manager because the USB 3.0/3.1 driver has an issue. So I paid £500 for a board that two major functions don't work properly. When are you going to release proper Windows 10 drivers for the Broadcom bluetooth? When are you going to fix the buggy USB? This is not acceptable.

@Abd -L-Azeez Alkalidy Oh yes, I forgot to say that the audio panel doesn't work either. It's a driver issue, definitely. Micro$hit doesn't care if your computer works as long as it's running their ad-ware, I mean operating system.

    • Azeez Alkalidy
      Azeez Alkalidy 3 years ago

it seems like there is always something. I have a problem with my current one. Its not a big deal but it's there. On windows 10, you can't install Sonicmaster driver or software. the audio works fine with the default windows driver but you can't update it. If you did, many software(s) won't work. Like any torrent download client. For example uTorrent pr BitTorrent and so on.Along with few others.

    • Tecnologia
      Tecnologia 3 years ago +1

The USB works, it's just that there is always an exclamation mark in device manager. Initially it does not, but after a few days it shows that. And the bluetooth is still not fixed.

Bad because they didn't launch earlier. I waited Black Edition until Spring 2015 and few months really look on all sides for information but than I bought Rampage V Extreme.
This board have really nice features and many differencies compare to Rampage V Extreme. It's not only minor details.
I would like to ask these three people who left negative comments why they don't like so premium motherboard.
This is best what human hand can make in 2016. Rampage V Extreme was king for 2014/2015 and Rampage V 10TH Edition will be king for 2016 and 2017.
It would be nice to ASUS organize Special giveaway only for Rampage V Extreme owners and duty of winners to be donation of own Rampage V Extreme when award arrive to people who have some of ROG motherboards older than 3 years. But only ROG motherboards.

  • André Fosstvedt
    André Fosstvedt 3 years ago

I doubt you will answer me asus. But i am really really ashamed. I was shittalking about updates and all other things when it came to your motherboards. I felt that the support had become worse over the years.
Finally i got a x99 platform. And i went all the way for the MSI x99a godlike carbon....
OH DARN i was wrong. That board does not support enthusiast memory at all. I have been trying up and down, back and forth... I Even have delivered the board into service now. The store that sold me the board can confirm themselves that they have really issues with different types of ram on that board. XMP was impossible. And now i spendt a fortune on that board.
Now i sit without nothing. And a MSI laptop that the keys sometimes hang up on.
Now here is why i call out for you! I have some fair questions. Will i be able to run 8 dims with HyperX Predator/ Corsair Dominator ram with decent speeds on this board. I saw the memory module check and sometimes it states 4 dims and 8. Is the board limited to 4 if it say so? Or is it because of the kit it is that way?
And on another note. Any plans for a pci slot exit for connection of the soundcard. I have not used a 5 1/2 inch bay since the stone age. And i know most other people do. The reason i got the Godlike board from MSI is the ESS Sabre soundchip.
And this mobo has it in the extra bay setup. I really wan't to use it. Or would you be a champ and hook me up with one of the more professional strix soundcards that has ESS Sabre chip in change for the 5.1/5 bay?
All the love, and sorry for my undoing. I have learned sweetie

    • André Fosstvedt
      André Fosstvedt 3 years ago

The latest drivers got the hifi bay to work. I have a pci 6 pin and internal usb header out of the case. So the soundcard is on the table. I found out that you have to turn the knob really much to get sound out of it. After that it is smooth sailing. Weirdly i found the sound in the X99 Godlike carbon to be better. But im buying a Dragonfly red usb dac soon. So i wont bother with issues of different sound quality by changing cards in the future.

    • Tecnologia
      Tecnologia 3 years ago

@_ Brett _ Pretty much what this guy said! I had no end of trouble with the shitty MSI Godlike Gaming. I bought this Edition 10 and initially the bluetooth was dead. So the retailer sent me a new one. I also could not use the xtreme-fx hifi because there were no drivers. But I can say that now everything works perfectly on this board, except the memory which isn't running stable on this board if I use XMP, and the memory was replaced for a brand new kit just in case it was the thing causing the issue. So long as you run everything on defaults and stock settings it will be very stable. The only thing I changed was to enable VT-d and the compatibility mode to UEFI only.

    • _ Brett _
      _ Brett _ 3 years ago

The MSI board is trash -- take it from someone who was employed by one of the Australian OEM partners. They make no secret of the fact that all of heir boards, whichever market segment, are manufactured from tjthe proverbial floor-ssweepings of the component suppliers. Oh and expecting an MSI bosard to be put in a test-case where absolutely 100% reliability was expected? Not going to happen.

ASUS has nothing to do with it. It's because of the United States's legal problems.
If America wasn't such a pain in the butt with legal crap, ASUS gaming products would be in the markets right after they were introduced.
