I'm a very proud South African and as a rugby obsessed nation we would never let an oak like this run the South Africa Rugby Union. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦 Everyone just loves Coach Rassie!

  • Firsthgyhgyhuy Lastujhujhuj

This bloke is awesome. No way you could have a bigger wanker as a coach; not even Gatland.

I was brought to this press conference by comments under today's NZ exit press conference... And yup, these guys could learn a thing or two from Steve Hansen and the All Blacks.

I am not an Australian fan, in any sport, but even I feel sorry for them having this 'creature' as a coach. Hopefully your next one thinks more of your team than his feelings and lack of knowledge and insight.

Cheika got his team to a RWC final in 2015. And he is authentic. I respect him for that.

Note to Michael Cheika: The facts don't care about your feelings.

  • RetroRay58 Warby

Cheika says he has no regrets about stepping down. Believe me, no other Australian rugby supporter has any regrets about you going either. Perhaps our only regret is that you didn't go two years ago.
Now let's get rid of Raelene Castle and that toxic Alan Joyce.

I bet the Aussie union are rueing the day they sacked our Eddie Jones after 2003 World Cup rugby final!!
Ironically defeated by England in similar fashion 😉 only much closer to victory then! They haven’t come very far ey 😆

I would rather have lost as a Wallaby under Cheika than have won under Eddie Jones. Cheika wears his heart on his sleeve. Congrats to England, and particularly Owen Farrell. 👍👍

Aussies came into this world cup with a victim based attitude. A change a management is for the best.
Brilliant players, but it's cup rugby, and you have to play tacticaly. Blame the coach 100%.

Cheika did his best. The game is losing support in Australia and is still just a 2 state regional sport despite attempts to expand. Shutting out Western Australia sent a very bad signal right across the south of the country. A very poor move.

Interesting, when Australia beat the All blacks lately, the Aussie media were awash with the headlines "who needs Folau". Now, there is not even a cheep from the Aussie media about maybe missing Falau after this disaster or even anyone suggesting that Rugby Australia's actions have had a crippling effect on the team! It seems reality is not a big thing in the media anymore! Ps. I feel for the players and the management to have to play under these conditions!

Tactically using young promising players on form rather than old has been names - this side was nearly identical to 8 years ago. Bringing back players who were dropped for bad behaviour over players doing the stuff week in week out hoping for a shot time to fill in a seek application

Really feel for Hooper. He is such a good player and deserves to be sitting next to a much much better coach. Even if you like Cheika, you must surly have recognized that he is not the right person for Australia rugby.

It’s a cruel world in Syria, the Sudan and for our farmers during drought but not for you Cheika you have been paid millions, travelled the world and been privy to some of the most amazing experiences that National Teams partake in...
Would have been nice to see a bit of grace and integrity instead he drops the F bomb during the post match interviews...
Should have resigned with dignity and been true to his word

I think our way of playing is no longer competitive on the world stage. Hopefully a new coach and the retirement of some of our players will be the start of taking Aussie Rugby back to the top level. We were good enough to get to the quarter finals which is an achievement we should be proud of. Well done boys.

We have been a top tier nation for just about as long as the history of the sport. 20 years ago, we were number 1. This tournament we proved we were better than Fiji, Uruguay and Georgia but not as good as Wales, and nowhere near as good as England. That's a nice sentiment and all but.... You are right though, our 1 way of playing; a simplistic plan A is no longer competitive. A smarter coach would have realised this before the tournament.
