Now that was a MIRACULOUS transformation!! The van turned out incredible and the owner reaction was exactly what I'm always hoping for but never get! 🤣

Hello, my name is Dakota Jackson and I am the incredibly grateful owner of the lovely van you see in this video.
First off, 100 thank you's to Mitch and the incredible amount of work he did to restore the old girl to a version of glory I've never seen before. You have no idea how much this meant to me and my little family. It is something that we not only won't forget, but will respect to the highest degree in trying to keep her looking as good as we can. The kids have, of course, been welcomed back into the vehicle, but to my delight they have been saying things like "remember to bring garbage bags mom, we gotta keep our van looking pretty."
Secondly, to those that responded with kindness and understanding. Thank you. Please, continue to give accolades to these incredible transformations and use the comment section as a place to converse, ask questions and offer support.
Finally, to those who chose to take this very small snapshot of one area of my life and use it to degrade my entire character, please consider the following. Lazy, disgusting or disgraceful are words I've never been called before. I went from eagerly watching the video, excited to share it with others so they can see the incredible work Mitch does, to tears streaming down my face as complete strangers ripped me apart. I am a single mother of four children, the oldest is 7 and the youngest 2. I not only have sole custody of them, but also am the only one supporting them financially. I am a teacher, having finishing my education degree while taking my youngest with me to classes since she was 4 weeks old so that I could both breast feed her and finish my studies, I work at a youth emergency shelter, am a journalist for my local paper, coordinate a music festival, write grants for my small town to help them find the funding for community events and do graphic design and content creation on the side, as well as manage the websites of two local organizations that provide more accessible sports training and mentorship to youth. I left and survived a relationship that required a restraining order, a non-contact order and an order for a psych evaluation for the other individual. I have tried my best at every turn, in every way I could and unfortunately my poor van got the brunt of my lack of time, energy and money. I have been more concerned with keeping her moving this last year then anything else, she has a habit of flat tires, the a/c quitting on the hottest days and random lights turning on for no known reason. So much of the time it was a choice between helping a friend make a logo for her new business or cleaning the van, reading one more story or cleaning the van, staying up to watch a little one with a fever or cleaning the van. There are times that my van should have been the priority but ended up getting knocked off the pedestal with something I believe was more important. Have I treated her the best, No. Does she have to do things that are usually assigned to jacked up 4x4 trucks, yep. Did we neglect her for too long, yah. I take full responsibility for all of it. What Mitch did for us, was take us back to square one and I'm forever grateful for that. I have always believed that there is good in everyone, so maybe your cruel judgements were just the result of a bad day, a bad week or maybe even a bad year. Whatever it was, it's okay. I realize you've already made up your mind about me, and I can accept that but I'd ask one thing of you. The next time Mitch puts out a video of one of his incredible transformations, maybe just pause a minute before you go tappity-tap-tappin. There is more than enough cruelty, indifference and hate in this world, no need for you to add to it. I wish you all the best.

Oh my! I can imagine the relief the owner feels, one less thing to deal with in her life.
Life can be overwhelming, busy, and with all the rushing around with young kids among other things we have to do, we usually overlook the car. Mine looks almost as bad inside. Keep doing what you do mama, they won't be little messes forever. Before you know it they will have their own vehicles and you will have a clean car without trying.

You know...no matter how old and rusty or how new and flawless the vehicles you detail are I greatly respect that you give every single one the same thorough treatment.

So awesome to have a garage with a floor drain, especially since it looks like you have harsh winters where you live.
If she got some wheel covers, had that front bumper covering replaced and some minor rust touch up, it would look nearly new 👍

Well done! This takes an insane amount of patience, time and skill. It looks though like you could use another upholstery cleaner. Some of those stains should come out with another cleaner.

My absolute favorite part of deep cleaning my cars is just after I finish running the clay bar over it. It's always amazing what I pull off my paint and I do it at least twice a year, oftentimes 3-4 times a year. My second favorite part is watching the 303 protectant make my finishes look brand new

The part when she says “So what am I going to do with my kids now” was exactly what I was thinking after the big clean up 🤣🤣 like how am I supposed to keep this car clean with kids😩

You have the patience of a saint. Your videos are literally therapy for me. My car is almost 6 yrs old and pristine. I swore when I bought it I'd keep it clean. Washed and detailed every 2 weeks. And watching you is further inspiration. Thanks.

I detailed my car like you do except without a garage with fancy wall vacuums, put neoprene seat covers in and carpet floor mats as well as deep rubber floor mats for extra protection.

Brother Mitch, you are working _way_ _WAY_ too hard. Your filming and editing techniques are so perfect it feels like we're there in the shop with you. No need to ruin your back and hips, my man, you can't restore your body like you can the cars you work on.

That was such a satisfying video and really great to see the owners reaction she looked over joyed! I have owned many cars over the years and there were a few that got like this, esp when my daughter was young so I know how it feels......and smells. Great Video!

Best reward in the detailing business is seeing the transformation from filth to flawless. Great job on the van unfortunately it'll will probably go back to looking the same in a couple of months. That's what you call job security haha.

I was wondering, since I haven’t seen you clean the inside roof of the cars, do you clean the inside roof and if so, what is your process for that? Your videos astound me...these vehicles are mid to high range on costs and for people to not do regular upkeep on them is amazing. Great job!!!

Seeing detail transformations like these really change my perception of a dirty vehicle because I know the potential it has. Some people might shy away from buying a dirty vehicle, thinking it hasn't been taken care of, but really that's a point of negotiation and as long as it checks out mechanically you can save some money and get the dirty car cheap and then have it detailed (or try it yourself if you have the desire like I do) and it's way better than paying dealer prices for something.

I love your transformations. I have 3 kids, I understand how bad it can get. I've scrubbed my tiny Mazda I had so many times, I didn't know where half the stains even came from... now that I have my very own minivan (she's a beautiful blue!) I don't want it to get how my car got, so I've been cleaning her all the time... can I like, borrow your garage? You don't have to do the work, I would love to just use your tools and space! I don't have a garage so I always have to detail in my driveway with an extension cord 😅

Awesome transformation! Have u ever thought about attaching a waterproof camera to your undercarriage washer? 🤔 maybe if u attach adjustable arms on both sides u could have a camera on shooting at different angles and it'll show everyone just how dirty it can be underneath as u blast it all away 😁

Lovvvvve this kid! He does amazing work. I have detailed all of my vehicles for years as well as friends vehicles.
There are constantly two things that boggle my mind about Mitch:

I just came upon the videos of The Detail Geek today and have been trying to watch as many as I can. It is extremely gratifying to see the results of hard work and the transformation that takes place. I think many people don't know where to begin when a vehicle becomes rather unkempt. Keep up the great work. As for Dakota Jackson, the owner of the van, thank you for allowing us viewers an insight into your life. It is easy for people to make judgements about another and, upon seeing the van come in so dirty, I, too, was wondering how it could get that way. Sometimes there just is not enough time in a day to raise a family, especially for a single mother, and make a living as well. May you be blessed for all you do for your family.

I have only seen a few of these but I love the transformation! I love your vaccuum! I can't understand how it gets it all (obiviously a better quality than mine, but you know what I mean). and I agree that vans should come with the most easy to clean flooring of all cars! I would pay extra. I also would pay extra for someone to clean my kids car seats!

I'm fascinated by your work techniques but I'm curious why u never show how u clean the inside windshields or stereo area.. also curious about whether or not u clean under the hood around the edges.. would love to see how u handle those tough jobs.. you're definitely the man though

The interior of this van, after you finished cleaning it, looked practically as good as a floor show model.

Great vid - I enjoy the channel. I have to say, though, it shocks me how bad people let their cars get. It takes about 5 minutes to run through a carwash next to a gas station. Inside the vehicle, well, with kids things happen. But, the outside? :-)

Other than watching some incredibly good looking guy getting some work done, the best part of this vid was the, “What am I supposed to do with my kids now? I can’t put them in here.” I’m always amazed by how great of a job you do, no matter the vehicle. I came home to a dirty apartment once, and the only solution I could come up with was moving, 🤦🏼‍♂️…

An incredible result and easily the best customer reaction yet. I really hope the owner decides to invest in some rubber floor mats to protect the carpets and the work you've done--WeatherTech ones are great, but any mats are better than none at all. This one really cleaned up beautifully, but in your hands, they all do. I do like to try to guess how many hours it took you at the end of the video and I usually get it right, but this time I was way off (I predicted 12 hours). Sixteen hours might be your longest detail yet!

Excellent detailing job. I use to have a detailing business back in the early 2000’s out of my garage like you in southern Ontario and detailed many a dirty vehicles during that time however family vans were the absolute worst, that and construction guys trucks. I remember working 12 to 14 hrs straight on some of them that were so brutally filthy. I really enjoyed detailing back then and it kept me in good shape. I remember I charged $200 for vans and $160 for cars, motor detail was $25 extra. I did many dealership vehicles as well back then as they weren’t happy with the job their own detailers were doing . I always did the interior first and treated every vehicle as it was my own, never a complaint all those years. Those people coming to pick up their vehicle at night and being so surprised and happy brought back many a good memory. Best of luck and success to you.

I watch your videos and all I can think is, how the owners of the cars live!?;? Cause if theyre ok with driving in a car with filth, can you imagine house nasty their house is!?!? Id be afraid to enter, let alone sit on their couch. The way a person keeps they're car will give u a representation of how they keep they're home.....
