Be careful when blowing out fans (especially little fans (like processor fans and video card fans). These fans are rated at a specific maximum RPM. Blowing air through them can over-rev them causing them to fail or causing sever bushing or ball bearing wear. To prevent damaging the fan always stop the fan from spinning as you blow it out.

    Is 10gbps enough?
I live in the middle of Maine and can get 10gbps FTTH by years end.
    Plans are 250,500,750,1gbps and 10gbps.
    250 is $90 a month so I wonder how much 10gbps will be :o
    All plans are symmetrical

by the way if you are swapping from a Edge OS implementation you would have saved yourself tons of time by swapping to VyOs instead. The configurations are very similar.

    • Nova Man

1,25gb per second will not be given to a single download. at best 100-200MBs. because there are other users downloading stuff from the servers, btw even if it happen and downloaded in 40secs there is decompressing and installing of 80Gig +++ of data.

My last IT job, the CEO was in town for some meetings, and came into the office on Sunday to find the tech staff there (along with the skeleton weekend crew that monitored the live feeds and recorders (we tracked radio, tv, and print news media). He looked shocked to find the salaried employees there. “Why are you here on Sunday?” “Best time to do server maintenance and network tweaks.” “But… It’s Sunday?!?!?"

God damn, those clouds make me think you guys need a dust hood. You'd need a big one, but I'm sure it's possible to make a knockdown / collapsible version. The ones I've seen run off wet/dry vacs, though yours might need a dedicated blower if it's big enough. Just stick a HEPA filter on it. And run a grounded wire along the inside to prevent static buildup. Then you could set the thing up in [CONVENIENT LOCATION] instead of having to take stuff outside.

Hello Linus I’m taking a course in networking and I will be getting my ccent this month or the following month looking at your setup it may be beneficial to use the 3tier hierarchical design instead of the 2tier collapsed core since your business needs speed and reliability I would recommend that you have your core layer consistent of your edge router and your ISP(s) equipment as well as your PFSence edge router then add a new distribution layer to provide high speed routing between vlans with 1 layer3 switch 2 optional then you would leave your access layer your dell and netgear 10g switches hope I helped in some way just thought your mess could be enhanced by adding a layer3 switch to make routing within the company much faster
Thanks from a long time fan,
    Vincent
