The Paxman Clarkson confusion was hilarious
Best episode ever. Ben on fire. This was a fucking lecture of the highest order. 15 mins in when he talks about rap it just verbalises that missing piece of the lineage.
Ben's confusing Paxman with Clarkson was comedy gold...I was in tears!

Both Thought provoking and funny as ever - personally I’m happy to trade a few laughs for an interesting critique on changing societal norms (- I recently listened to some old Xfm stuff and while very funny still, to me it now sounded a tad purile, so I guess I prefer this type of discourse now tbh - guess we all change over time) I know the topics have been raised before, but societies personal disconnect allied to what we now have ie a faux group connect fuelled by need for affirmation outrage is seriously troublesome and Ricky et al are trying to tackle it in order to dampen the flames a bit, as we are heading for an outcome in ten yrs where admitting you’re British/Italian/Turkish (or any colossally aggressive post colonial empire) will cancel you in polite society - which is plainly bonkers! Keep up the good work Ricky

I've gone right off music, I hardly listen to any and I listen to podcasts and watch/listen to TheXvid videos when I work out. It adds the chill factor. I've just got to the point where its same shit different wrapper. So I find myself watching romcoms and womens shit to experience a different reality. Im a sucker for a rom com.

Rap capitilzes on its street cred and sincerity, so to say that it's just joking about violence is a mixed message to casual observers (such as parents).

Spot on - really annoying, Ricky needs guests who derail him and take more of a lead or it ends up with the same conversation. Bill burr on next so that should hopefully be a good one!

I think there is a difference between an openly gay British rock star who has no pretense at gangster credentials like Freddie Mercury, and someone whose whole story revolves around growing up hard in gangland, like Snoop or 50 Cent, having lyrics about shooting people.

@Charlotte B For the last few years Gervais has been gradually showing himself to be not that different from the characters in his work.
When he was talking to doc brown parts of it literally reminded me of "my favourite actor.. Sidney Poitier" from The Office.. like calm down we know there's a mixed race man present but couldn't they just talk about something upbeat like Glastonbury, music in general, holiday's, family life, anecdotes, Christmas? Anything! Lol and the other guy got like four sentences in
