Relaxing PC Build / ASMR

  • Published on Jan 16, 2022
  • Today we're building a new PC! My last PC I built was in 2013 and I've been saving for a nice upgrade for a while. Hope you enjoy!
    CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
    Graphics Card - EVGA Nvidia 3070 FTW3
Motherboard - ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero
RAM - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 64GB (2 x 32GB) (Originally 128GB, but one RAM stick is faulty, so I will be returning one of the sets. And maybe that's a blessing from the PC gods because I think 64GB is more than enough for now. 😅)
    Storage - Samsung 980 Pro M.2 2TB
Storage - WD Blue 1TB SSD
Storage - 2 WD Blue 4TB Hard Drives (8TB Total)
Power Supply - Seasonic Focus GX-1000
CPU Cooler - Corsair iCUE H100i Elite Cappelix
    Case - Phanteks P600S

@Driendel You need some trading skills to do that :(

    • Driendel
      Driendel Month ago

One thing you can do is flip.
Some pc parts get expensive, some get cheap, some people are willing to trade the expensive parts for the cheap ones for one reason or another, some are willing to give something expensive for less money than they asked for initially, etc.
You can start with one used PC and end up with a pc twice as good in a month or two.
Getting a brand new pc gets easier if you can make money by just buying and selling used parts.

I don’t think u should get a 5950x for a 3070…It ll be the same as the 5600x-5800x(performance)…3070 isn’t a top end gpu like 6900 or 3090 so it doesn’t need this cpu

@paush Personally, I would always choose AMD over Intel, unless there was a really compelling reason not to (eg. Bulldozer). Intel definitely needs every bit of competition they can get; and if it weren't for AMD Ryzen, Intel would probably have kept on releasing 4-Core processors with an annual 0.0000000000000000001% increase in clock speed, as their "Top Tier" consumer oriented products until the year 2035!

It is actually very doable, especially if you opt to use an air cooler instead of a water cooler. Everything besides the cooler is pretty much all just positioning, screwing in, pushing in, etc. Everything has a slot (or in the case of the mobo, standoffs to screw into) where you put it, and it is super easy to find lots of helpful guides online.

My favorite type of ASMR. I'm subscribed to another channel where a guy just silently fixes electric fence chargers and its so addicting! lol I do have a tiny little request, for a longer version of something like this could you explain to us what some of the installed parts do? I know nothing at all about building a computer but I was SOOO curious about what each little snap in parts function was. Maybe most people already know. But I know I love the learning aspect too of "building stuff" videos. Other than that it was SUPER relaxing and zoned out the whole time practically drooling lol!! great job as always!!!

I learned so much from this! I always thought building your own PC was some kind of magical thing only a few knew how to do, but now I see that it only takes buying the separate parts and assembling them all together. Of course, you need to know what you are buying, what type of PC you wanna build, where everything goes, and have enough knowledge to detect why something isn't working but... still... I feel like I can do this someday.
That was so cool. Thank you! and congratulations!

I am a 13 year old and all of my friends built their PC's, because it really easy and the main struggle is choosing the right parts without spending way too much while still having a good pc (i also want too but the chip shortage and extreme prices aren't letting me)

    • LumpyASMRxQueen
      LumpyASMRxQueen 4 months ago

You can absolutely do this! I use pcpartpicker because it will tell you if parts won’t work together or are too big etc. I just built my first pc a month ago, and it took me a while, but that was only because I had never done it before. All in all it was easy. After you’ve done your first one, the next one will be a breeze cause you’ll be more familiar. 😊

    • Muhamed Karahasanović
Muhamed Karahasanović 4 months ago +3

It really depends on quality of the parts some of the manufacturers that make their parts cheaper make a lot of shortcuts to achieve their price especially in the Case and PSU market they also don't provide as good manuals as some other brands. But i thing as long as you follow the RTFM procedure (Read The Fucking Manual) you're good. I did it when I was 12.

    • Brian Lam
      Brian Lam 3 months ago

@Don Miller you can plan that easy on pcpartpicker. This is no different from legos for adults, and I suggest everyone we build their pc rather than pay the build fees to dell and waste money. Prebuilt also come with build errors and terrible component selection that can be avoided this way. It’s like 8 parts in total anyways, which can be done in 30 mins by a half decent builder and 2 hours or less by anyone watching a tutorial online.

I used to build my desktop computers like this until I switched to laptops several years ago, and there the only things you can change are the hard drive and memory. This video reminded me of how much fun I was missing out on!

Really good ASMR video!!! I loved the integration of a computer build into the series! That computer is a beast. A game destroyer. Ball2thaWall if you play Vanguard or Black Ops Cold War

I have a P600S as well it's literally the best case i have ever had puts every corsair and cooler master garbage to shame. The build quality, used materials, size and flexibility is simply awesome.
@Bluewhisper can you please tell me what corsair fans and psu cables are you using in this build, thanks!

awesome build! I love by the errorcode display on the board, that is super helpful! I wish I had had that back in the day when I used to build PCs for all my friends :D
figuring out what's broken can be such a pain I you have to go by trial and error

Lol, i'm glad i read this comment. I didn't realize that's what that was. I have a similar thing on my own computer.
I've been suffering from "crashes" ever since I got my computer.
Basically, visuals crash, keyboard, mouse are unresponsive, and the audio often sounds like that "white noise" that you might hear on old TV sets if a channel was not available.
Seems to happen out of nowhere most of the time. I could be watching netflix and it'll happen or sometimes it'll even happen on system restarts.
Next time it happens I'll have to pay attention to what shows up.

Heyyy, that's the exact same case I have. It's awesome to build in, and I loved how easy it was to do cable management along the back side. Honestly I just wanted something that wasn't black or white, and the anthracite color was really eye-catching to me.

Nice build. Good job, especially with such little experience. Very relaxed indeed! One word of advise.. Always insert the graphics card Down into the montherbord (case lying down on the table). You want such a heavy card to be tightened in, before gravity works against its connection :)

Hey @Bluewhisper, very nice video and Pc. Just as a tip for the M.2 SSD. There must be a standoff in the Motheroard accessories that you can use to screw down the M.2 and than you can screw the SSD heatsink into the standoff. That way you get the best cooling for your SSD at the top slot while also making use of the PCIe 4.0 speeds :)
