It's sad because this $69 computer is getting similar performance to what my laptop gets... and it was $575. Rocking an i5-7200U, 8 gigs of ram, and a Geforce 940MX.

Storm7200 a system wipe (windows factory reset) would most likely make the performance much greater, how long have you had the laptop?

I got an optiplex 790 ssf with a core i5 2400 for free, threw 16 GB of RAM ($50) and an overclocked gigabyte low profile 1050ti ($100) GPU in it and it's been surprisingly great, can run almost anything at 1080p high 60 fps. It's surprised me a lot

I used to game on core 2 quad q8200 like 2 weeks ago but upgraded to a ryzen 5 2600 a week ago and i use the same graphigs card and 8gb dd4 ram instead of 6 gb ddr2 and even though the graphigs card is the bottleneck with the ryzen 5 2600 i still see a huge fps boost

I have a question. I own an optiplex 780. Has a core 2 duo e5300 2.6ghz cpu with onboard q45 GPU. I had to pull off the heat sink to fix a fan problem which meant I needed to get some paste and all I use it for is streaming movies and TV shows. The e5300 outperforms the q6600 in single core so I am just wondering if it is still worth the time to step up the processor? 4gb ram seemed to be just fine as is but I would like to run Android games, which it does do but there's some lag. Also no emulator would work using Windows 7 32 bit os, but I upgrade to win 10, 64 bit and now it runs blue stacks. So will the q6600 improve the stutter or is it in the GPU?

  • Joashy H
    Joashy H 10 days ago

cap these games at either 30 or 60 FPS (depending on how well they run) and you have the first decade of my PC gaming experience in a nutshell. Theyll run most bethesda games, most telltale games, ALL the LEGO games, some old COD's, Dragon age Origins, fuckin battlefield 1942. As a 19 year old on budget hardware these games were my my bread and butter, and thats not even TOUCHING the possibility for emulation, this thing would probably run up to Citra(3ds) emulation. The only reason I have a 1060 and an I7 now is because it was a gift, i wouldnt be buying the kinda gear I own for myself, i felt very priveledged to get this PC from a family friend.

The cheapest way to build a gaming PC will always be to go buy a decommissioned office Dell or HP and stick a Hard Drive & GPU in it. If you want a good GPU then you'll need to upgrade the PSU as well. Hell, you can get an i5 or i7 4th Gen Dell or HP for around 100 bucks on Ebay these days, complete with everything aside for the Hard Drive. So yeah, for around $200 to $300 you can have yourself a halfway decent gaming PC.

linus has a video on this channel about that. hes mentioned it a few times, but last time he brought it up he said "but thats been done a thousand times, and we wanna do something more fun for the video" im pretty sure its common knowledge at this point to get grandmas old pc and drop a 1050ti in it, thats almost a FAD at this point. nonetheless, spread the word brother lol, we dont need people wasting money on atrocities when theres CLEARLY more efficient methods out there, both on your time and your wallet.

Hello to everyone reading this. I'm not sure if it breaks the rules or anything, but AMD has a totally impressive GPU the is just a single PCIe lane/slot - the RX550. A board partner, XFX or Sapphire, makes or used to make a really great one in both 2 and 4 GB VRAM models. I would imagine there are plenty for sale new and definitely used for a good. I have 3 of these GPUs and they really are one slot, unlike some cards that have enough fat on the cooler shroud and fan mount to render that neighboring slot it said it didn't useless except for breathing room. If anyone really needs a card like that let me know because I'd sell it.
