How Amazon Delivers On One-Day Shipping

  • Published on Jul 15, 2019
  • Prime Day, Amazon's biggest shopping event, is here, and now one-day shipping is the norm for tens of millions of items available during Amazon's Prime Day event, which runs from July 15 to July 16. To succeed at this rapid delivery, Amazon spends tens of billions of dollars every year and employs 250,000 workers in its U.S. warehouses. The process is an incredible challenge, and Amazon has faced criticism about working conditions at every step of the process. Watch the video to see what happens when you buy a Prime-eligible item on

I had a friend working for Amazon. He left within a few months... Because, he had to work without getting off the screen for more than 9hours and also just half an hour lunch break.
If he didn't obey rules, he got escalated.

You should. You help slave labor. I worked as a driver. I went in at 7 am didnt get home til midnight. You get cussed at, dogs chase you, the chance of robbery is high and homeowners forget they ordered so when you enter their property especially at night you have guns drawn on you and your working in the freezing rain and snow or scorching heat with a van that has bad brakes and horrible headlights and yes i had to pee in bottles because they watched you on gps and if you stopped you got written up and lost an hour of pay.

We don't really need 1 day shipping. It's not fair setting these crazy goals and putting the weight of it all on the backs of their workers. Imagine already barely meeting expectations and then you're called to a meeting and told you're now expected to double your production rate to make the customers happy and there's no mention that you'll be paid more given any help. But at least there's gonna be cold pizza in the break room next week!

Based on recent experience, it's more about how they don't deliver and just keep the money and give no way for customers to respond. Been waiting for 2 weeks now for my 2-day Prime delivery and they won't do a thing about it. The delivery person lied by saying it was delivered to a "secure location" but the photo proves it was a non-secure location and a high traffic area. But they could care less and won't do a damn thing about it. Don't trust them.

How is this legal? it seems like they control every position of the market. They built their company on the backs of tax payer funded infrastructures and now they don't pay taxes?

4:33 "Figuring out how to have the least human touchpoints.....". We are so eager to fund our own obsolescence it's alarming. We won't see any opposition to it either until it's too late, when the middle-class white males find themselves unemployed along with the rest of society. Robots will continue to replace manual labor and AI will continue to replace intelligent labor. The future is a giant question mark at this point. And for the record, I am a middle-class white male.

As my roommates said. These companies are using us the people to lay down their infrastructure for them. We do all this work to only have a robot replace us. When he said that I called Uber and found out how to delete my account. A day later, not driving for Uber.

I don't know why these workers are complaining. Amazon gave you an opportunity where you're making 15 to 25 dollars an hour. If you don't like it or can't handle it, leave it. People are always difficult no matter how you treat them.
