@Pragya Bhushan no it's not, it can be used in that context but it's quite outdated and a bit insensitive. Whenever I hear that someone is in a much better place it usually means their life is much better or their mental health has improved. I know personally I say I'm in a much better place than 3 years ago and other people say the same. Also, you can't police people's speech, "don't say that" doesn't go over well with most people, just saying

I remember noticing how skinny she was but never noticing how uncomfortable she gets when answering the questions about food and that she mentions Diet Coke.
