    Sir please put up the steps clearly for those of us who haven’t touched math in years. Difficult to understand the in-between calculations. Thank u for the lovely questions, they are very nice.

    Q6, instead of such a long way, can’t we just keep
    CP=100
    MP=100+x
    Simply take SP as MP - Discount = (100+x) - (40/100)(100+x)
    Taking common factors out:
    SP= (100+x) (1 - 40/100)
    = (100+x)(60/100)
    Then use Profit% formula and substitute values.
    5 = {[(100+x)(60/100)] - 100} 100/100
    5 = (100 + x) (60/100) - 100
    175 = 100 + x
    x = 75
    Please tell if this method is ok
