Logitech (or Logi) has extended its MX series from the Master 2S, Anywhere 2S, and Ergo to now include a 4th member: the MX Vertical. It’s a 4000 dpi ergonomic vertical mouse that I guess you could use for gaming if you had to...

I got this for my workspace, and am pretty pleased with it so far :) Fortunately for me, the main criticism made here - the price - was entirely negated for me by the fact that the company paid for it :p

Meh. It's perfectly normal for your forearm bones to "scissor." That's what they do. Ergonomics is mostly a bunk science anyways.

Not to mention most "ergonomic" mice don't consider left-handedness at all.

I keep thinking about this (for some reason, I've lately become frustrated with all my mice/trackballs). What I've gotten out of messing with one of these mice is that the missed clicks come from the fact that the mouse buttons are still engineered like you were clicking straight down. That works fine on a normal mouse because the surface the mouse is on bolsters it. There's no bolster to oppose your clicking movement, so the thing just wags a bit before anything happens. The only way aggressive clickers (which is most of us gamers) will make a vertical mouse work is if the clicks are oriented similar to or just like pistol triggers. The meat of your hand becomes that bolster. Obviously, you can't really arrange twin pistol triggers and have it work efficiently, but the direction of clicking force should simply be oriented according to the that design logic.

I am having similar micro drag issue on the Logitech G903. Mine was due to the mouse doing this super fast double clicks instead of one click. a fault on the omron switches where the tensioner is loose and making the switch actuate twice.

I have the Anker mouse he showed in the product comparison, and plan to upgrade to the Logitech soon. The Anker is meh for 20 bucks. It takes AAA batteries (and I did get rechargeable ones) but it's annoying that it doesn't have USB charging, have to remove the batteries and charge them on an external bay. The tracking sucks when the batteries are dying, it's a little too big and the scroll wheel is trash lol. The Logitech can be had for $75 on sale usually, it's absolutely worth 3.75 times the price because it fixes every problem I have with the Anker lol

I tried several vertical mice. Evoluent has good comfort... and little else. Logitech has the pedigree and their vertical mouse has Bluetooth connectivity. Yes there' s a learning curve. It feels _different_ from standard mice. I suffer from wrist pain so I can tell you that a vertical mouse does help to alleviate it. At least, for me it did.

Just in case anyone is still researching this mouse, I just got it on eBay for 70 bucks new and shipped. IT IS AWESOME! Also, it sounds like he says this mouse lacks gesture control but that is incorrect. You can set up the mouse to do gesture control with the top button. So for example, I have mine set up to control volume. You just have to hold the top button down and then move the mouse up or down which adjusts volume. There are other options too within the logitech software.

I own an Evoluent VerticalMouse 4, which seems to have a steeper angle (nearly 90 degrees) than the Logitech Vertical Mouse (57 degrees), but I do not have any issues with the mouse moving when I click (or any strain from keeping the mouse still when I click).
The only thing I dislike about my mouse tho is the fact that it's wired, and their Bluetooth compatible mouse is for Mac only, so I am looking for alternative options. Since I am pretty used to using a vertical mouse, I don't know if I would have some of the same issues with the Logitech one that they had, but I don't want to spend $100 on a mouse that does have issues

at 1:25 Linus says "A group of mice" - THIS IS ACTUALLY TOTALLY INCORRECT!!
I've been a life-long PC nerd, and when I was younger, I remember learning that when speaking about the COMPUTER PERIPHERAL, when you have more than one computer mouse, you have "MOUSES", not "mice". When you're talking about ANIMALS, when there is more than one mouse, they're considered "MICE".
Next time you visit an electronics store like Fry's, Best Buy, look above your head at the signs that tell you what is in each isle! They clearly say "Computer Mouses and keyboards" ....... Next time you shop for a mouse online, you'll notice they're called MOUSES ( if the website says mice, it's incorrect)
I don't type in caps because i'm angry or yelling, I smoke a lot of pot and sometimes it just kind of happens that way for some reason

HELLO LOGITECH!!!! I'm a typical generalist user. As a multimedia 2D 3D intermediate hobbyist, I frequently hyper-research online, make notes and shift between progs. I like my mouse light, small, nimble (wireless), and super programmable with max amount of buttons. My current favs are Anywhere 2 and G900. Not moving onto Pro Wireless because (1) fewer buttons (2) no tilt scroll (3) still a "tall" wrist killer (4) still lame battery life. My ideal mouse would be a (use my phone charger) Qi wireless charge-able, Bluetooth optical with a dozen extra buttons. It will be light (under 90g incl battery) super CUSTOMIZABLE = flexi-height (2cm to 4cm), flexi-slant (vertical to horizontal), flexible extra button options (like G900), and left click button mechanical calibration (have mercy on people with long/short index finger!). Definitely AMBIDEXTROUS, so I can buy two and use on both hands. Would be cool if the scroll wheel can be physically switch into "mini track ball" or "joystick" mode, so I can stop pining for a better 3Dconnexion, which Logitech is doing a horrid job developing!
Oh and I was one loud one who shouted at Logitech on Amazon and official forum about Anywhere 2 driver disaster and Logitech responded. Thanks for listening.

So if keeping our arms at a 90 degree angle is so much better why haven't we just moved along to joysticks we move around like mice with with mouse sensors on the base of them? We could use our little finger and ring finger to grip the joy and there could be an upper and lower trigger for our middle and index fingers. Could anyone explain why that wouldn't be the natural progression in terms of ergonomics? Does it somehow introduce different issues with ergonomics?
