I genuinely just felt like searching for "best muppet show episodes" and found this. Thanks for putting this together. I grew up with compilation videos of the original show and also watching Muppets Tonight on TV (and other Henson stuff) but only scene a few full episodes all the way through. I will try and find these and check them out. Thanks again.

A lot of Muppet fans have come out to say that they were greatly disturbed by the Mummonschanz episode, which I found very weird. I always liked that episode, and though the guest star weren't a 100% match, I still thought they went well with each other. I just don't think its as such a peice of trash as its made out to be on

Two of my favorites included Peter Sellers and Dudley Moore. The Seller's episode had my favorite line from Kermit where he says "I run the show and I don't understand it." Sounds like life to me. Moore's version was just flat out funny particularly the scene where Dudley Moore has a run in with Animal and the musical robot gets blown up on the stage while Gonzo is defusing a bomb while reciting Shelley.

How many of you have heard of Smile Land? It was once a Park just outside of Hollywood that was open between 1966 and 1983. I’ve been doing some extensive research on the park as Its history has been more than intriguing. First, I’ll tell you what I could find out about the park, then I’ll tell you about my planned journey to the abandoned site to try and find more clues.
Apparently, Smile Land was opened in 1966 by a small group of actors in the Hollywood area. The names of the actors that opened it couldn’t be traced. All I managed to find out about them were that they were actors. There were 2 rides when the park first opened, and 3 more added later before it closed. I could find no advertisements for it outside of a local newspaper ad, and judging from the locals I had talked to, it seemed to be a park that only people from the Los Angeles area went to.
The 2 rides that were there when the park first opened were a Merry-go-round and a Ferris wheel, both of which had no unique name of any kind. The 3 rides that opened in the parks later life had interesting details
The first of the 3 was named “Magical Boat Ride”. All I could find out about it is that it was a rip-off of “It’s a Small World” from Disneyland. There was also a Rollercoaster called “Mighty Mountain” and a bumper car ride called “ADE”.
All of these rides had something about them that stunted my research. All the construction records and documents concerning Magical Boat Ride were destroyed just before the park shut down, all of the people I had interviewed refused to talk much about Mighty Mountain or Magical Boat Ride, and ADE’s name is a bit of a mystery in that the guests knew it was an acronym, but none of them knew what it actually stood for.
At some point in 1983, Smile Land shut down mysteriously after 17 years of operation. The only clue I have to the park’s closing is a news report from the same year claiming that Smile Land had a lot of strange magnetic activity. One of the reporters on the program took out a compass in the middle of the park and showed the compass pointing away from true north by about 45 degrees.
Allegedly, there were a few missing person’s cases tied with Smile Land, but they weren’t enough to consider Smile Land “suspicious”. I have reason to doubt that this is some murder park or that there are demons haunting the place, which is what you may be thinking whilst reading this report.
Tomorrow, I’m going to pack some things and go the site of the park to try and find any clues that might tell me why the park closed, and what the strange magnetic field change might have to do with it. Hopefully I’ll have something interesting to discuss with you in my next Blogpost, research article, or however else you may be reading about my findings. Wish me luck.
