Welcome back everybody to Sporting Logically, today we are talking about NBA players whose careers were saved by an NBA franchise. For each of these players, there is a clear crossroads in their career - a point in time in which it seemed their time as an NBA player was over. This could be for a number of reasons - returning from serious injury, seeing almost no individual success in their first few seasons in the league, or even having great success early on... only for their production to fizzle out over time. But regardless of the situation, it was clear that each of these players seemed to be only a blip on the radar of NBA teams. That is of course until, as the title implies, one team decided to give them a shot - one last chance to prove themselves worthy of an NBA roster spot - and as a result of that chance, they revitalized their careers and became valuable contributors in the NBA. Obviously each of these guys worked hard to improve their game to become a solid NBA player, but there is also little doubt that the structure of their new team played a big part in their growth as well. Before we start, obviously there are more than 4 instances of this occurring throughout NBA history - these guys are just my favorites and the ones I find most interesting... but if you have some other guys in mind for this list, be sure to share them in the comments section below. Lets go ahead and get started.
- Gerald Green, New Jersey Nets
- Javale McGee, Golden State Warriors
- Danny Green, San Antonio Spurs
- Shaun Livingston, Brooklyn Nets
