So grateful to be born in a great generation where music was used to educate and indulgence thought, with style as well.

Kick ass! Hope the young generation appreciates this.

' Fuck outta here..., you haters would hate yourselves to death if theres nothing left on this Earth to hate. Instead of being grateful that you are contemporary with such artists and you witnessed classical music in the making. 't the fuck outta here.

I directed him here and now a year later, he’s dropped his techno and mumble rap for the true art of metal

This 1988 Metallica song on the effects of war can be compared to Pink Floyd's 1979 "Comfortably Numb" song/ comments on the numbness we everywhere promote to keep us away from feeling the very real pains of the world. Yet, ironically, that world pain is the reason for our needing each other and needing to live "connected" to others. No doubt, Metallica was aware of Pink Floyd and learned much from them, to include video production.

All-time great musical masterpieces stand the test of time. So far, 30 years later, this song has stood to test of time without a single blemish. In fact, considering the current climate in the middle east and the United States' lead role in "policing" the world of terrorist activities, this song is more relevant today than it was back in the day when it was written, recorded and released in a time of peace. Before war in the Middle East became a thing. Yes, it was written about a WWI soldier, but the haunting coincidence it was released the year before Iraq invaded Kuwait and the U.S. had to intervene and send Saddam back to Iraq with his tail between his legs did not stop this song from riding its tidal wave of popularity from becoming an anthem of modern day America troops. A song whose purpose was to bring to light pain suffered through war in the past but gains legitimate relevancy about war in the in the present is destined to be an all time great. In the not-too-distant-future this song will be considered a musical masterpiece and mentioned in the same sentence of the best musical works composed by Mozart or Bach or Tchaikovsky. Anyone who thinks otherwise, needs to get their selves unconfused about the imperfect beauty of art imitating life and the broken lines of abstract art sometimes perfectly correlating to real life. Sometimes, an artist hits an undeniable grand slam. Intentional or not. Since Metallica's passion is obviously evident, it will count in the record books of time as being 100% genuine.
