  • First Cabin is a new concept that combines the idea of a capsule hotel with much more comfortable accommodations and facilities. This one was located in Namba, the best area to stay in Osaka Japan. The room cost me ¥3500 (US$32) per night.

After watching so many videos about Japan, the people and the life out there - I've decided Japan is operating in the year 3000 and the rest of us are barely out of the 1950s in comparison. I would love to visit at the very least (my dream was to emigrate to Japan, but sadly - at 54 - I can't see that happening now) because Japan is my dream for the future -it's just amazing that the Japanese get to live our future right now....I am, admittedly, SO jealous. :)

capsule hotel in japan are design for a convenient staying!!For those people who came late for the last train!!For those people that are not familiar on the place or city! The reasons why most capsule hotel is very common in japan in a short walk near the train station!!For those in unexpected situation that need to stay but less budget!!Some people stay on manga kan or hon ya san a book store 24/7 !!A comic place to read books animes and you can avail 1500yen to stay used PC and a small space to lay and also having a shower!!That is very common place for those having a party or drinks that they can’t go home and too expensive for taxi!!Others go to karaoke to spend night until the first train in morning come! The reasons why capsule hotel are design for more relaxing convenient to stay!!So i hope the foreigners can understand and do not compared it to a hotel which having more privacy like a solid door to lock!!This capsule hotel are design much better than to stay at night in a 24 hours book store or at 24 hours karaoke!!!The purpose of this a relaxing convenient stay that you can lay down to sleep and having a good provision of bath, public bath or SPA even in a bad situation like you lost in a city or left by the last train and no place to stay specially winter season!!

So it's like being in a first class luxury airline seat, except in a hotel? Seems more like cruiseship style accomodations in size and amenities, except no windows.

Is nice the capsule room but as my personal choice I will stick to the traditional room, with the window view and private bathroom and space ,. At least for an emergency choice of a last option I would agree to sleep in one of these capsule hotels but other than that I will stay with my traditional room and window city view.

I stayed in a first cabin while in Shinjuku and Kyoto and really enjoyed it. I was definitely worried about feeling claustrophobic, but it was fine and very comfy. Highly recommend it if you’re traveling in Japan.
