They could have easily have made 2 more seasons of Nights King army advancing south and having several big battles like this but no.

Absolutely everything except the writing was phenomenal here. The camera angles, the music score, the vibe and atmosphere... everything, except the writing.

This ending had nothing to do with the story. Just wanted a female character to be superior. I mean yeah I get it aryas a badass. But that was Jon snows sworn enemy. It’s almost as if Batman and joker was fighting and green lantern came out of nowhere and stabbed the joker. Nonsense. They could have played it out so much better with her using her ability to swap faces and use Jamie’s face to kill Cersei. This show broke my heart.

All we wanted was to see Jon Snow fight the night king. You built it up for 8 fucking seasons and he doesnt get to cross swords with him once!

Arya's basically the Avatar of the true God of Death, so of course it had to be her. The Many-Faced God cannot abide this Night King pretender. The gift is given yet again.

Despite all the shitty writing, visually it was one of the best seasons. I mean, this whole sequence is like a work of art.
It makes me kind of sad. The most decade defining TV show ruined by some lazy shmucks.

At the very least Jorah got the character ending that was worthy of his name. He redeemed his honor, he died protecting his Queen, and he helped destroy a foe his father tried protecting the world from.
Jorahs arc might have been sad, but at least he HAD a proper story and finish. Unlike some *glares at pretty much anyone alive after this episode*

Viewing this episode as a "stand-alone" movie, without knowing the story behind it, nobody can argue, it was a masterpiece. But, because sadly this episode is part of a series, this episode is one of the worst episodes in the TV history. Is the episode that predicted the failure of the last GoT season.
GoT was a amazing series. They worked almost 10 years to build the story of the Night King so that, at the end they show us _I_ in 20 sec while Arya kills him.

Does HBO realize nobody is going to rewatch this bad sex experience... Because that is what in its soul Game of Throne was. Like young teenager getting naked for the first time... fooling around... getting aroused... and... incomprehensible getting to a messy slopy ending. Who wants to do that again. We thought it was GoT but the HBO question is still "Who killed Tony Soprano?"

Seven hells I wanted John to finish the night king after an epic battle and then arya take out danny in ep 6. The build up of Aryas anger towards danny would have been perfect. But even more than that I wanted the army of the dead to make it to kings landing and everyone having to fight there. Oh well 🤨

  • Tori Collins
    Tori Collins 6 days ago

I don't understand the confusion and anger. The Night King literally had the biggest glaring weakness, he knew about it, and yet chose to take on that risk himself. I mean, if characters were all OP with no weaknesses they'd be boring. Sure the last season was rushed but don't blame the writers (though to be fair they're not without blame but everything that happened was telegraphed for seasons) for HBO's decision for a time crunch.
