No way, main character is obsessed with "enid" the name of my hometown which was rumored to have been named after a railroad owner became obsessed with a native-american that he met in the town and would visit when he came through.
    Enid, Oklahoma, USA

    1. I want to be a hound mutant.
    2. Would kissing a hound mutant be like tasting aluminum foil or like a grocery bag?
    3. Is everything made of mushrooms in that world since they are so plentiful and the hound mutants are eating all the good materials.

By far the most visually appealing story. The music is gripping. So much. Grainy atmosphere and oh god what a story. Watched it over and over again.

How the hell does this have anything to do with Technology? The Verge is, according to their own youtube page: "a team of journalists that examines how technology will change life in the future."
Please Verge, just stick to the thing we all subscribed for: Technology.

this series about "optimistic futures" is turning out to not really be so optimistic

    • Biser Yordanov
Biser Yordanov 7 months ago +8

josh mcgee exactly my thought. But we seem to be a minority. Most people like it that way. And I like the storylines and the art styles as well but that was not what I expected from the theme.
Telling a positive story in negative circumstances is easier that creating conflicts in good ones. (Conflicts are needed for a plot to happen) However it only shows that in the future there will be a lot of suffering and some lucky ones that will evade it. It’s not much different than any third-world-successes-story. What about stories in which the society and the planet are not suffering and the conflict is a bit more creative?

    i like the music
i am neutral about visuals, dont know what to think about it exactly (i like the motion of everything but i dont like the way it looks, it feels broken i guess...)
i dont like the story, too much talking, too short, not involving, doesnt have a clear begunning feels more like an ad to an eBook.

Lovely animation. Seems to be about post-society on the surface, but I think it's very much about taking risks and growing up too. Leaving the comfort of your home to find your own way.
